Abstract
Essential hypertension is a psychosomatic disease associated with emotions and behaviors. Although Mongolian mind-body interactive therapy can help patients with essential hypertension reduce their systolic blood pressure (SBP), the mechanism is unclear. We assigned patients who underwent Mongolian mind-body interactive therapy to groups that were treated with (DT) or without (NDT) antihypertensive drugs (Clinical registration no: ChiCTR2000034918). We screened differentially expressed genes (DEGs) using targeted metabolic and transcriptomic analyses of blood samples before and after intervention. Sequenced data were analyzed using quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and validated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs). Small interfering (Si)-RNA interference on key DEGs in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) was experimentally verified. Omics analysis identified 187 DEGS, including human 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor 2B (5-HTR2B), human endothelin receptor type B (EDNRB), and the metabolite N-acetylserotonin. The qPCR and transcriptome sequencing results were consistent. Post-intervention ELISA assays revealed significantly elevated 5-HT in the NDT group after intervention (P < 0.05). Interactions between 5-HTR2B and N-acetylserotonin differed between the groups. The cellular findings showed significantly reduced G protein-coupled receptor 82 (GPR82) and phospholipid phosphatase-related protein type 4 (PLPPR4), and significantly increased S100A2 protein expression in the Si-HTR2B group, compared with the controls (P < 0.05). The biochemical results uncovered significantly decreased nitric oxide (NO) and significantly increased malondialdehyde and NO synthetase concentrations compared with the models (P < 0.05). Mongolian mind-body interactive therapy might affect SBP in patients with essential hypertension by combining 5-HT with 5-HTR2B to mediate NO relaxation.

Abstract
Objective To reveal the efficacy and potential mechanisms of electroacupuncture (EA) in treating hypertension. Methods Male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) were randomly assigned to the SHR group, EA group, and Sham-EA group, with Wistar-Kyoto rats (WKY) as the normal control group. SHRs in the EA group received electroacupuncture at the bilateral Taichong (LR3) acupoints for 7 consecutive days. Evaluation of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), and heart rate (HR) was conducted. Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) was employed to explore the active brain regions associated with acupuncture-induced blood pressure reduction. Furthermore, mRNA expression profiling was analyzed in the active brain regions to identify differentially expressed genes, and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was used to validate the mRNA expression of differentially expressed genes in the active brain region. Results EA reduced elevated SBP, DBP, MAP and HR in SHR. PET-CT revealed that EA decreased glucose metabolism in the hypothalamus. Genomic analysis suggested that, compared to the SHR group, the differentially expressed genes in the hypothalamus of the EA group included Nr4a1, Sirt1, Trh, GPR88, Cck, and Th. EA downregulated the mRNA expression of Th, Trh, Gpr88, and Nr4a1, while upregulating the expression of Sirt1 and Cck at the mRNA level. Conclusion EA may exert a unique antihypertensive effect in the hypothalamus of SHR, involving the modulation of sympathetic nerve activity, neuroinflammation, and oxidative stress response.

Abstract
Emotional stress is one of the health risk factors in the modern human lifestyle. Stress exposure can provoke the manifestation of various pathological conditions, one of which is a sharp increase in the blood pressure level. In the present study, we analyzed changes in the transcriptome profiles of the hypothalamus of hypertensive ISIAH and normotensive WAG rats exposed to a single short-term restraint stress (the rat was placed in a tight wire-mesh cage for 2 h). This type of stress can be considered emotional stress. The functional annotation of differentially expressed genes allowed us to identify the most significantly altered biological processes in the hypothalamus of hypertensive and normotensive rats. The study made it possible to identify a group of genes that describe a general response to stress, independent of the rat genotype, as well as a hypothalamic response to stress specific to each strain. The alternatively changing expression of the Npas4 (neuronal PAS domain protein 4) gene, which is downregulated in the hypothalamus of the control WAG rats and induced in the hypothalamus of hypertensive ISIAH rats, is suggested to be the key event for understanding inter-strain differences in the hypothalamic response to stress. The stress-dependent ISIAH strain-specific induction of Fos and Jun gene transcription may play a crucial role in neuronal activation in this rat strain. The data obtained can be potentially useful in the selection of molecular targets for the development of pharmacological approaches to the correction of stress-induced pathologies related to neuronal excitability, taking into account the hypertensive status of the patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Isolated ischemic oculomotor nerve palsy as a type of ophthalmic disease is rarely observed in clinical practice. Quality of life is frequently impacted by isolated ischemic oculomotor nerve palsy due to its lack of treatment options and long-term visual impairment. We describe an acupuncture-treated instance of isolated ischemic oculomotor paralysis. METHODS Acupoints including Jingming (BL 1), Chengqi (ST 1), Cuanzhu (BL 2), and Sizhukong (TE 23) on the right side, and bilateral Fengchi (GB 20), Waiguan (TE 5), Hegu (LI 4), and Zulinqi (GB 41) were selected for needling. Each treatment lasted for 30 minutes, once every other day. Acupuncture treatment was administered for a total of 11 times. RESULTS Acupuncture is a promising treatment option for isolated ischemic oculomotor nerve palsy. CONCLUSIONS Ischemic oculomotor nerve paralysis can affect the quality of life of patients. Acupuncture intervention can promote the recovery of the disease is a very effective treatment measure.

Abstract
Objective Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has considerable experience in the treatment of cerebral palsy (CP), but little evidence shows the effect of a combination of TCM and modern rehabilitation therapies on CP. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effect of integrated TCM and modern rehabilitation therapies on motor development in children with CP. Methods We systematically searched five databases up to June 2022, including PubMed, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science. Gross motor function measure (GMFM) and Peabody Development Motor Scales-II were the primary outcomes to evaluate motor development. Secondary outcomes included the joint range of motion, the Modified Ashworth scale (MAS), the Berg balance scale, and Activities of Daily living (ADL). Weighted mean differences (WMD) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to determine intergroup differences. Results A total of 2,211 participants from 22 trials were enrolled in this study. Among these, one study was at a low risk of bias and seven studies showed a high risk of bias. Significant improvements were found in GMFM-66 (WMD 9.33; 95% CI 0.14-18.52, P < 0.05, I 2 = 92.1%), GMFM-88 (WMD 8.24; 95% CI 3.25-13.24, P < 0.01, I 2 = 0.0%), Berg balance scale (WMD 4.42; 95% CI 1.21-7.63, P < 0.01, I 2 = 96.7%), and ADL (WMD 3.78; 95% CI 2.12-5.43, P < 0.01, I 2 = 58.8%). No adverse events were reported during the TCM intervention in the included studies. The quality of evidence was high to low. Conclusion Integrated TCM and modern rehabilitation therapies may be an effective and safe intervention protocol to improve gross motor function, muscle tone, and the functional independence of children with CP. However, our results should be interpreted carefully because of the heterogeneity between the included studies.
