Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks, as a kind of advanced nanoporous materials with metal centers and organic linkers, have been applied as promising electrode materials in energy storage devices. In this study, we are successfully prepared cobalt sulfide nanosheets (CoS) derived from the metal-organic framework on nickel foam (NF). The prepared electrodes are characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller and Barrett-Joyner-Halenda and electrochemical methods like voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The CoS/NF electrode demonstrates a high specific capacity of 377.5 mA h g-1 (1359 C g-1) at the current density of 2 A g-1, considerable rate performance and excellent durability (89.4% after 4000 cycles). A hybrid supercapacitor is assembled using CoS/NF as the positive electrode and activated carbon as the negative electrode, it shows a high energy density of 57.4 W h kg-1 at a power density of 405.2 W kg-1. The electrochemical results suggest that the CoS nanosheet arrays would possess excellent potential for applications in energy storage devices.

Abstract
External-stimuli responsiveness as found in natural organisms and smart materials is attractive for functional materials scientists who attempt to design and imitate fascinating behavior into their materials. Herein, we report a couple of new solvent-responsive isostructural two-dimensional cationic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) of Mn(II) (1a) and Zn(II) (2a) that undergo unprecedented single-crystal to single-crystal (SCSC) transformation toward the corresponding isostructural three-dimensional MOFs of Mn(II) (1b) and Zn(II) (2b). The 2D MOFs 1a and 2a have been effortlessly and rapidly synthesized via the microwave-heating technique. The SCSC transformations are synergistically induced by solvent and ligand-substitution reactions and able to be triggered by water, methanol, ethanol, and n-propanol. Time-dependent SCSC transformations were studied by in situ X-ray diffraction. Investigations on photodegradation of methyl orange showed that Zn-MOF 2b has higher efficiency than Mn-MOF 1b under UV-C irradiation at 300 min, 94.27%, and 21.91%, respectively. The influence of charge on the dye molecules, heterogeneity of the catalysis, and •OH radical-scavenging test was studied. First-principles computations suggest that the high photocatalytic activity of 2b may be attributed to its suitable band-edge position for redox reactions.

Abstract
The reaction of (NBu4)2Bzmal (where Bzmal2− is benzylmalonate dianion) with Co(OAc)2∙4H2O gives the [Co(Bzmal)(EtOH)(H2O)]n 2D-polymer (1). The addition of 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) to the starting system results in the [Co(Bzmal)(bpy)2]·H2O·EtOH molecular complex (2). Their molecular and crystal structures were analyzed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. An analysis of the static magnetic data supported by the SA-CASSCF/NEVPT2 calculations revealed the presence of easy-plane magnetic anisotropy in both complexes. The AC susceptibility data confirm that both complexes show a slow field-induced (HDC = 1000 Oe) magnetic relaxation behavior.

Abstract
In the title coordination polymer, [Co(C3H3O4)Cl(H2O)]n, the sixfold coordination environment of the CoII atom consists of two O atoms from a chelating hydrogen malonate anion (HMal−), one O atom originating from a μ2-bridging malonate ligand (HMal−), one O atom from a water molecule and two μ2-bridging Cl− atoms, connecting neighbouring Co2Cl4 motifs into a two-dimensional polymer extending parallel to (001). Interlayer O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the layers into a three-dimensional network. The asymmetric unit of the title polymer, [Co2(C3H3O4)2Cl2(H2O)2]n, comprises one CoII atom, one water molecule, one singly deprotonated malonic acid molecule (HMal−; systematic name 2-carboxyacetate) and one Cl− anion. The CoII atom is octahedrally coordinated by the O atom of a water molecule, by one terminally bound carboxylate O atom of an HMal− anion and by two O atoms of a chelating HMal− anion, as well as by two Cl− anions. The Cl− anions bridge two CoII atoms, forming a centrosymmetric Co2Cl2 core. Each malonate ligand is involved in the formation of six-membered chelate rings involving one CoII atom of the dinuclear unit and at the same time is coordinating to another CoII atom of a neighbouring dinuclear unit in a bridging mode. The combination of chelating and bridging coordination modes leads to the formation of a two-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to (001). Within a layer, O—Hwater⋯Cl and O—Hwater⋯O hydrogen bonds are present. Adjacent layers are linked through O—H⋯O=C hydrogen bonds involving the carboxylic acid OH and carbonyl groups.

Abstract
The metallo-organic complex Pb[Mn(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2] was synthesized and characterized by IR and Raman spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction methods. The cell parameters for the complex were determined from powder X-ray diffraction using the autoindexing program TREOR, and refined by the Le Bail method with the Fullprof program. A hexagonal unit cell was determined with a=b=13.8366(7)Å, c=9.1454(1)Å, γ=120°. The DFT calculated geometry of the complex anion [Mn(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2](2-) is very close to the experimental data reported for similar systems. The IR and Raman spectra and the thermal analysis of the complex indicate that only one type of water molecules is present in the structure. The thermal decomposition of Pb[Mn(C3H2O4)2(H2O)2] at 700 °C in air produces PbO and Pb2MnO4 as final products. The crystal structure of the mixed oxide is very similar to that reported for Pb3O4.

In the title compound, [Mg(C3H2O4)(H2O)3] n , the metal atom is in an octa-hedral environment. The octa-hedra are connected by malonate anions, forming chains along the c-axis direction. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains into a three-dimensional network.

Three Co(II)-malonate complexes, namely, (C(5)H(7)N(2))(4)[Co(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2) (1), (C(5)H(7)N(2))(4)[Co(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2), and (C(5)H(7)N(2))(4)[Co(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](PF(6))(2) (3) [C(5)H(7)N(2) = protonated 2-aminopyridine, C(3)H(4)O(4) = malonic acid, NO(3)(-) = nitrate, ClO(4)(-) = perchlorate, PF(6)(-) = hexafluorophosphate], have been synthesized from purely aqueous media, and their crystal structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. A thorough analysis of Hirshfeld surfaces and fingerprint plots facilitates a comparison of intermolecular interactions in 1-3, which are crucial in building supramolecular architectures. When these complexes are structurally compared with their previously reported analogous Ni(II) or Mg(II) compounds, a very interesting feature regarding the role of counteranions has emerged. This phenomenon can be best described as anion-induced formation of extended supramolecular networks of the type lone pair-π/π-π/π-anion-π/π-lone pair and lone pair-π/π-π/π-anion involving various weak forces like lone pair-π, π-π, and anion-π interactions. The strength of these π contacts has been estimated using DFT calculations (M06/6-31+G*), and the formation energy of the supramolecular networks has been also evaluated. The influence of the anion (NO(3)(-), ClO(4)(-), and PF(6)(-)) on the total interaction energy of the assembly is also studied.

Abstract
Two new cobalt(II) complexes of formula [Co(2)(bta)(H(2)O)(6)](n) x 2nH(2)O (1) and [Co(phda)(H(2)O)](n) x nH(2)O (2) [H(4)bta = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid, H(2)phda = 1,4-phenylenediacetic acid] have been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is a one-dimensional compound where the bta(4-) ligand acts as 2-fold connector between the cobalt(II) ions through two carboxylate groups in para-conformation. Triply bridged dicobalt(II) units occur within each chain, a water molecule, a carboxylate group in the syn-syn conformation, and an oxo-carboxylate with the mu(2)O(1);kappa(2)O(1),O(2) coordination mode acting as bridges. Compound 2 is a three-dimensional compound, where the phda(2-) group acts as a bridge through its two carboxylate groups, one of them adopting the mu-O,O' coordination mode in the syn-syn conformation and the other exhibiting the single mu(2)-O'' bridging mode. As in 1, chains of cobalt(II) ions occur in 2 with a water molecule, a syn-syn carboxylate group, and an oxo-carboxylate constitute the triply intrachain bridging skeleton. Each chain is linked to other four ones through the phda(2-) ligand, giving rise to the three-dimensional structure. The values of the intrachain cobalt-cobalt separation are 3.1691(4) (1) and 3.11499(2) A (2) whereas those across the phenyl ring of the extended bta(4-) (1) and phda(2-) (2) groups are 10.1120(6) and 11.4805(69 A, respectively. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 have been investigated in the temperature range 1.9-300 K, and their analysis has revealed the occurrence of moderate intrachain ferromagnetic couplings [J = +5.4 (1) and +2.16 cm(-1) (2), J being the isotropic magnetic coupling parameter], the magnetic coupling through the extended bta(4-) and phda(2-) with cobalt-cobalt separations larger than 10 A being negligible. The nature and magnitude of the magnetic interactions between the high-spin cobalt(II) ions in 1 and 2 are compared to those of related systems and discussed as a function of the complementarity-countercomplementarity effects of the triple bridges.
