Abstract
We describe a family of cationic methylstannylene and chloro- and azidosilylene organoplatinum(II) complexes supported by a neutral, binucleating ligand. Methylstannylenes MeSn:+ are stabilized by coordination to PtII and are formed by facile Me group transfer from dimethyl or monomethyl PtII complexes, in the latter case triggered by concomitant B-H, Si-H, and H2 bond activation that involves hydride transfer from Sn to Pt. A cationic chlorosilylene complex was obtained by formal HCl elimination and Cl- removal from HSiCl3 under ambient conditions. The computational studies show that stabilization of cationic methylstannylenes and cationic silylenes is achieved through weak coordination to a neutral N-donor ligand binding pocket. The analysis of the electronic potentials, as well as the Laplacian of electron density, also reveals the differences in the character of Pt-Si vs. Pt-Sn bonding. We demonstrate the importance of a ligand-supported binuclear Pt/tetrel core and weak coordination to facilitate access to tetrylium-ylidene Pt complexes, and a transmetalation approach to the synthesis of MeSnII :+ derivatives.

Dinuclear Gold Complexes Supported by Wide Bite Angle Diphosphines for Preorganization-Induced Selective Dual-Gold Catalysis. INORGANICS 2019. Abstract
The synthesis, reactivity, and potential of well-defined dinuclear gold complexes as precursors for dual-gold catalysis is explored. Using the preorganizing abilities of well-known wide bite angle diphosphine ligands, DBFPhos and DPEPhos, dinuclear Au(I)–Au(I) complexes 1 and 2 are used as precursors to form well-defined monocationic species with either a chlorido- or acetylido-ligand bridging the two gold centers. These compounds are active catalysts for the dual-gold heterocycloaddition of a urea-functionalized alkyne, and the preorganization of both Au-centers affords efficient σ,π-activation of the substrate, even at high dilution, significantly outperforming benchmark mononuclear catalysts.

Abstract
The coordinating properties of the trichlorostannate ligand in hydrido platinum trichlorostannato and platinum bis-trichlorostannato complexes, containing various phosphine ligands, have been elucidated by means of charge decomposition analysis, the Ziegler-Rauk Energy Decomposition with the Natural Orbitals for Chemical Valence, Domain-Averaged Fermi Hole, and natural bond orbital methods. Trichlorostannate has been found to be a strong σ-donor and a weak π-acceptor ligand with coordination properties not far from those of the cyano ligand. For back-bonding, the tin-chlorine σ∗ orbitals are mostly responsible. In contrast to previous assumptions, the 5d orbitals of tin play no role at all in the interaction with the platinum center. QTAIM calculations suggest, that the platinum-tin interaction should be interpreted as donor-acceptor, rather than covalent type. Trichlorostannate has been found to have weaker trans influence in comparison to the cyano ligand. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Abstract
Self-assembly and characterization of heterodimeric diphosphine capsules formed by multiple ionic interactions are described. The first type of capsules is composed of one novel tetrasulfonato-xantphos ligand and one complementary tetraammonium calix[4]arene. Encapsulation of a transition metal is achieved by self-assembly of a rhodium complex containing the tetraanionic diphosphine ligand and a tetracationic calix[4]arene. The second type of capsules is composed of two oppositely charged diphosphine ligands: one tetrasulfonato-xantphos and one tetraammonium-diphosphine (of the xantphos-, DPEphos-, and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe)-type). Bis(metallo) capsules, that is, simultaneous encapsulation of two different transition metals, are created by self-assembly of a palladium or platinum complex containing a tetracationic ligand and a rhodium complex containing a tetraanionic ligand. Diphosphine ligands with different flexibilities and shapes assemble into metallocapsules with a proper capsular structure, as is indicated by (1)H NMR and 1D-NOESY spectroscopy, ESIMS, and modeling studies.
