Abstract
In order to increase the agricultural properties of matrine, a series of novel matrine-type alkaloidscontaining spiro-1,2,4-oxadiazoline fragment at the C-15 position were prepared. Eight target molecules were elucidated by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The antifeedant activities of Ig and IIIh against Mythimna separata Walker were>1.7 folds of the precursor matrine. The acaricidal activities of Ij, IIe, IIg, IIi and IIIa against Tetranychus cinnabarinus Boisduval were 2.6-3.7 folds of matrine. Especially IIg (R1 = R2 = 4-Cl) and IIi (R1 = 4-Cl; R2 = 4-Br) exhibited the pronounced antifeedant and acaricidal activities. SARs showed that their pesticidal activities were related to the substitutents and their positions on the phenyl rings at the C-3 and N-4 positions of 1,2,4-oxadiazoline skeleton.

Abstract
The square planar complex [Pd(PT)Cl(H2O)]*H2O (HPT: 6-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione) was obtained by the reaction of 2-methoxy-4,6-bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine (MBPT) pincer ligand with PdCl2 in a molar ratio (1:1) under thermal conditions and using acetone as a solvent. The reaction proceeded via C-N cleavage of one C-N moiety that connects the pyrazole and s-triazine combined with the hydrolysis of the O-CH3 group. The reaction of the chloride salt of its higher congener (PtCl2) gave [Pt(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole)2Cl2]. The crystal structure of [Pd(PT)Cl(H2O)]*H2O complex is stabilized by inter- and intra-molecular hydrogen bonding interactions. Hirshfeld analysis revealed that the H...H (34.6%), O...H (23.6%), and Cl...H (7.8%) interactions are the major contacts in the crystal. The charges at Pd, H2O, Cl and PT are changed to 0.4995, 0.2216, −0.4294 and −0.2917 instead of +2, 0, −1 and −1, respectively, using the MPW1PW91 method. [Pd(PT)Cl(H2O)]*H2O complex has almost equal activities against MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cell lines with IC50 of 38.3 µg/mL.

Abstract
Pd(II) and Pt(II) composites with activated carbon (AC), graphene oxide, and multiwalled carbon nanotubes were prepared by ball milling and used as catalysts for the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction, under several energy inputs (mechanical grinding, conventional heating, and microwave irradiation). The catalytic composites were characterized by ICP-MS, BET, XPS analyses, TEM, and SEM. The average particle size of the prepared composites was estimated to be in the range of 6–30 nm, while the loadings of Pd and Pt did not significantly affect the surface area of the AC support due to the tendency to agglomerate as observed by the TEM analysis. The Pd/AC composites exhibit high mechanochemical catalytic activity in cross-coupling of bromobenzene and phenylboronic acid with molar yields up to 80% with TON and TOF of 222 and 444 h−1, respectively, achieved with Pd(4.7 wt%)-AC catalyst under the liquid assisted grinding for 0.5 h at ambient conditions, using cyclohexene as an additive.

Abstract
A series of novel Au(i)-nitrone complexes with specific catalytic properties were prepared. Furthermore, Au(i)- and Au(iii)-oxadiazole complexes were formed by a novel Au-generated nitrile-nitrone [3 + 2] cycloaddition, and the crystal structures of Au(i)-nitrones as well as the Au(i)- and Au(iii)-oxadiazole complexes were studied (X-ray). A useful one-pot Au(iii)-mediated cycloaddition method was developed for the formation of a number of dihydro-1,2,4-oxadiazoles, involving in situ formation of Au(iii)-oxadiazole complexes. The observed Au(i) and Au(iii) dual selective reactivity gives new understanding about the Au(i)- and Au(iii)-nitrone chemistry.

Abstract
α-Amidinoazadi(benzopyrro)methenes were synthesized using the Re(CO)3 unit as a templating agent. The products of these template reactions are six-coordinate rhenium complexes, with a facial arrangement of carbonyls, a noncoordinating anion, and a tridentate α-amidinoazadi(benzopyrro)methene ligand. The tridentate ligand shows the conversion of one diiminoisoindoline sp2 carbon to a sp3 carbon, which has been seen in the "helmet" and bicyclic phthalocyanines. The bidentate diiminoisoindoline fragment tilts out of the plane of coordination. Five examples of α-amidinoazadi(benzopyrro)methenes produced from these reactions using different nitrile solvents, including the nitrile activation of acetonitrile, propionitrile, butyronitrile, cyclohexanecarbonitrile, and benzonitrile.

Abstract
The title complex, [PdCl2(C8H14N2O)2]·2H2O, was obtained by N-O bond cleavage of the oxa-diazo-line rings of the trans-[di-chlorido-bis-(2,5,5-trimethyl-5,6,7,7a-tetra-hydro-pyrrolo-[1,2-b][1,2,4]oxa-diazole-N1)]palladium(II) complex. The palladium(II) atom exhibits an almost square-planar coordination provided by two trans-arranged chloride anions and a nitro-gen atom from each of the two neutral organic ligands. In the crystal, N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link complex mol-ecules into double layers parallel to the bc plane.

Abstract
The complex trans-[PtCl4(EtCN)2] (14) reacts smoothly at 25 °C with the stable cyclic azomethine imines R(1)CH═N(a)NC(O)CH(NHC(O)C6H4R(3))C(b)H(C6H4R(2))((a-b)) [R(1)/R(2)/R(3) = p-Me/H/H (8); p-Me/p-Me/H (9); p-Me/p-MeO/H (10); p-Me/p-Cl/p-Cl (11); p-MeO/p-Me/H (12); p-MeO/p-Cl/m-Me (13)], and the reaction proceeds as stereoselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition to one of the EtCN ligands accomplishing the monocycloadducts trans-[PtCl4(EtCN){N(a)═C(Et)N(b)C(O)CH(NHC(O)C6H4R(3))CH(C6H4R(2))N(c)C(d)HR(1)}])((a-d;b-c)) [R(1)/R(2)/R(3) = p-Me/H/H (15); p-Me/p-Me/H (16); p-Me/p-MeO/H (17); p-Me/p-Cl/p-Cl (18); p-MeO/p-Me/H (19); p-MeO/p-Cl/m-Me (20)]. Inspection of the obtained and literature data indicate that the cycloaddition of the azomethine imines to the C≡N bonds of HCN and of Pt(IV)-bound EtCN has different regioselectivity leading to Δ(2)-1,2,3-triazolines and Δ(2)-1,2,4-triazolines, respectively. Platinum(II) species trans-[PtCl2(EtCN){N(a)═C(Et)N(b)C(O)CH(NHC(O)C6H4R(3))CH(C6H4R(2))N(c)C(d)HR(1)}]((a-d;b-c)) [R(1)/R(2)/R(3) = p-Me/H/H (21); p-Me/p-Me/H (22); p-Me/p-MeO/H (23); p-Me/p-Cl/p-Cl (24); p-MeO/p-Me/H (25); p-MeO/p-Cl/m-Me (26)] were obtained by a one-pot procedure from 14 and 8-13 followed by addition of the phosphorus ylide Ph3P═CHCO2Me. Δ(2)-1,2,4-Triazolines N(a)═C(Et)N(b)C(O)CH(NHC(O)C6H4R(3))CH(C6H4R(2))N(c)C(d)HR(1(a-d;b-c)) [R(1)/R(2)/R(3) = p-Me/H/H (27); p-Me/p-Me/H (28); p-Me/p-MeO/H (29); p-Me/p-Cl/p-Cl (30); p-MeO/p-Me/H (31); p-MeO/p-Cl/m-Me (32)] were liberated from 21-26 by the treatment with bis(diphenylphosphyno)ethane (dppe). Platinum(II) complexes 21-26 were characterized by elemental analyses (C, H, N), high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), and IR and (1)H and (13)C{(1)H} NMR spectroscopies and single crystal X-ray diffraction in the solid state for 25·CH3OH, 26·(CHCl3)0.84. The structure of 26 was also determined by COSY-90 and NOESY NMR methods in solution. Quantitative evaluation of several pairs of interproton distances obtained by NMR and X-ray diffraction agrees well with each other and with those obtained by the MM+ calculation method. Platinum(IV) complexes 15-20 were characterized by (1)H NMR spectroscopy. Metal-free 6,7-dihydropyrazolo[1,2-a][1,2,4]triazoles (27-32) were characterized by high-resolution ESI-MS and IR and (1)H and (13)C{(1)H} NMR spectroscopies and single crystal X-ray diffraction for 29·CDCl3. Theoretical density functional theory calculations were carried out for the investigation of the reaction mechanism, interpretation of the reactivity of Pt-bound and free nitriles toward azomethine imines and analysis of the regio- and stereoselectivity origin.
