Abstract
In this work a family of multidimensional (2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)ethyl) amino acid coordination compounds have been synthesized and thoroughly characterized. For this purpose, glycine, valine, phenylalanine and tyrosine have been selected as starting amino acids and Mn2+, Zn2+ and Cd2+ as metallic nodes. From one side, for Mn2+ based dimer magnetic resonance imaging studies have been conducted, prompted by the number and disposition of the coordinated water molecules and taking into consideration the promising future of manganese-based coordination compounds as bio-compatible substitutes to conventional Gd based contrast agents. From another side, d10 block metal-based complexes allowed exploring photoluminescence properties derived by in situ synthesized ligands. Finally, amino acid preserved structural chirality allowed us to examine chiroptical properties, particularly focusing on circularly polarized luminescence.

Abstract
Understanding the effects of pressure on actinide compounds is an integral part of safe nuclear waste storage in deep geologic repositories and provides a means of systematically altering the structure and properties. However, detailing how the effects of pressure evolve across the actinide series in the later elements is not typically undertaken because of the challenges of conducting research on these unstable isotopes. Here, a family of bimetallic actinide complexes, [(An(pmtz)2(H2O)3)2(μ-pmtz)]2(pmtz)2·nH2O (An3+ = Cm3+, Bk3+, and Cf3+, pmtz- = 5-(pyrimidyl)tetrazolate; Cm1, Bk1, and Cf1), are reported and represent the first structurally characterized bimetallic berkelium and californium compounds. The pressure response as determined from UV-vis-NIR transitions varies for Cm1, Bk1, and Cf1. The 5f → 5f transitions in Cm1 are notably more sensitive to pressure compared to those in Bk1 and Cf1 and show substantial bathochromic shifting of several 5f → 5f transitions. In the case of Bk1, an ingrowth of a metal-to-ligand charge-transfer transition occurs at elevated pressures because of the accessible Bk3+/Bk4+ couple. For Cf1, no substantial transition shifting or emergence of MLCT transitions is observed at elevated pressures because of the prohibitive energetics of the Cf3+/Cf4+ couple and reduced sensitivity of the 5f → 5f transitions to the local coordination environment because of the more contracted 5f shell versus Cm3+ and Bk3+.

Abstract
The salt metathesis reaction of Na(pmtz)·H2O [pmtz- = 5-(pyrimidyl)tetrazolate] and PuBr3·nH2O in an aqueous media leads to the formation of the mononuclear compound [Pu(pmtz)3(H2O)3]·(3 + n) H2O (Pu1, n = ∼8) that is isotypic with the lanthanide compounds [Ln(pmtz)3(H2O)3]·(3 + n) H2O (Ln = Ce-Nd). Dissolution and recrystallization of Pu1 in water yields the dinuclear compound {[Pu(pmtz)2(H2O)3]2(μ-pmtz)}2(pmtz)2·14H2O (Pu2), which is isotypic with the lanthanide compounds {[Ln(pmtz)2(H2O)3]2(μ-pmtz)}2(pmtz)2·14H2O (Ln = Nd and Sm). Like their nine-coordinate ionic radii, the M-O and M-N bond lengths in Pu1/Pu2 and Nd1/Nd2, respectively, are within error of one another. The Laporte-forbidden 4f → 4f and 5f → 5f transitions are also assigned in the UV-vis-NIR spectra for these f-element tetrazolate coordination compounds.

Abstract
There is a considerable practical interest in discovering new ways to obtain organomolybdenum heterogeneous catalysts for olefin epoxidation that are easier to recover and reuse and display enhanced productivity. In this study, the complex salt (H2pytz)[MoO2Cl2(pytz)] (1) (Hpytz = 5-(2-pyridyl)tetrazole) has been prepared, structurally characterized, and employed as a precursor for the hydrolysis-based synthesis of a microcrystalline molybdenum oxide/organic hybrid material formulated as [MoO3(Hpytz)] (2). In addition to single-crystal X-ray diffraction (for 1), compounds 1 and 2 were characterized by FT-IR and Raman spectroscopies, solid-state 13C{1H} cross-polarization (CP) magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Compounds 1 and 2 were evaluated as olefin epoxidation catalysts using the model reaction of cis-cyclooctene (Cy8) with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), at 70 °C, which gave 100% epoxide selectivity up to 100% conversion. While 1 behaved as a homogeneous catalyst, hybrid 2 behaved as a heterogeneous catalyst and could be recovered for recycling without showing structural degradation or loss of catalytic performance over consecutive reaction cycles. The substrate scope was broadened to monoterpene DL-limonene (Lim) and biobased unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters, methyl oleate (MeOle), and methyl linoleate (MeLin), which gave predominantly epoxide products.

Abstract
Two new one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymers (CPs), namely catena-poly[[[aquacadmium(II)]-bis(μ-4b,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-4b,7a-epiminomethanoimino-6H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline-6,13-dione)] bis(perchlorate) dihydrate], {[Cd(C14H10N6O2)2(H2O)](ClO4)2·2H2O}n or {[Cd(BPG)2(H2O)](ClO4)2·2H2O}n, 1, and catena-poly[[lead(II)-bis(μ-4b,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-4b,7a-epiminomethanoimino-6H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline-6,13-dione)] bis(perchlorate) dihydrate], {[Pb(C14H10N6O2)2](ClO4)2·2H2O}n or {[Pb(BPG)2](ClO4)2·2H2O}n, 2, have been synthesized using bipyridine-glycoluril (BPG; systematic name: 4b,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-4b,7a-epiminomethanoimino-6H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline-6,13-dione), a urea-fused tecton, in a mixed-solvent system. The CdII ion in 1 is heptacoordinated and the PbII ion in 2 is hexacoordinated, with the CdII ion adopting a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry and the PbII ion adopting a distorted octahedral geometry. Both CPs form infinite linear chain structures which are hydrogen bonded to each other leading to the formation of three-dimensional supramolecular network structures. Topological analysis of CPs 1 and 2 reveals that the structures exhibit 1D chain-like arrangements in an AB-AB sequence and shows platonic uniform 2-connected uninodal topologies. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of a series of structures based on the BPG ligand indicates that the size of the metal ion and the types of counter-ions used have a great influence on the resulting frameworks and properties.

Abstract
Unlike the usual formations of peroxo and superoxo cobalt products as oxygen carriers, N-oxido cobalt(ii) ethylenediaminetetraacetates K4[Co2(edtaO2)2]·nH2O [n = 6.5 (1), 10 (2), H4edta = ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, C10H16O8N2] and their aggregate [Co2(edtaO2)(H2O)6]n·2nH2O (3) were obtained as dioxygen insertion products. The cobalt ions in dimers 1 and 2 are hexa-coordinated by two edtaO2 ligands in different configurations respectively, which is attributed to the packing of an interesting (H2O)12 water cluster in 2. Further reaction of K4[Co2(edtaO2)2]·nH2O with hydrogen peroxide results in the final trivalent cobalt ethylenediaminetetraacetate K[Co(edta)]·2H2O (4). A water-soluble coordination polymer Na2n[Co(edta)]n·4nH2O (5) was also obtained with a one dimensional zigzag structure. Bond valence calculation is consistent with the products 1-5.

Abstract
The effect of intermolecular interactions on the conformational variety of flexible mono-dentate ligands in coordination compounds has been investigated through the preparation of two series of mercury(ii) complexes. In this regard, the molecular and structural architecture of eight complexes, [HgCl2(L(amide-Cl))2] (), [HgCl2(L(amide-Br))2] (), [HgBr2(L(amide-Br))2] (), and [HgI2(L(amide-Br))2] (), as the first series and [HgBr2(L(imine-Cl))2] (), [HgBr2(L(imine-Br))2] (), [HgI2(L(imine-Cl))]n (), and [HgI2(L(imine-Br))]n (), as the second series, using two kind of flexible ligands, N-(1-halonaphthalen-4-yl)nicotinamide, L(amide-X), and 4-halo-N-((pyridin-3-yl)methylene)naphthalen-1-amine, L(imine-X), has been studied. Inspection of the packing of these compounds clearly shows the presence of conformational changes in the arrangement of the ligands in each series. Although there are slight differences between the crystal packing of these compounds, it seems that π-involving intermolecular interactions including πnaphπnaph in the first series and πimineπpy/naph in the second series with the cooperation of Hgπpy can lock the ligand conformational variety to a single conformer.
