Abstract
Ru(III)-PhI(OAc)2, an unprecedented combination, is a highly efficient reagent system for the in situ generation of a valuable isocyanate intermediate from benzimidate synthons through a rearrangement. It unlocks a powerful platform for forming diverse C-N bonds, enabling the one-pot synthesis of an expansive array of valuable unsymmetrical ureas, carbamates, and their chiral analogues toward complex molecular structures with high selectivity and excellent yields. This new strategy not only exemplifies efficiency but also serves as a versatile tool for the construction of valuable molecular architectures, enhancing the scope and impact of modern synthetic chemistry.

Abstract
A simple and efficient oxidative coupling of aromatic alkynes with elemental sulphur and secondary amines has been reported. The iodine/DMSO system easily promoted the transformations, affording thioglyoxamides via C-S, C-O, and C-N bond formations. In this context, acetylenic C-H bond oxidation has occurred through iodination, leading to the desired products. Moreover, this metal-free, one-pot protocol is accomplished by using readily available starting materials, without external oxidants, and under aerobic conditions, providing a variety of α-ketothioamide compounds in moderate to good yields.

Abstract
I2/TBHP-promoted, one-pot, multi pathway synthesis of imidazopyridines and thiazoles has been achieved through readily available ethylarenes, ethylenearenes and ethynearenes. I2/TBHP as an initiator and oxidant is used to realize the C-H functionalization of this domino reaction. Simple and available starting materials, wide range of functional group tolerance, high potential for drug activity of the products and application in production are the advantageous features of this method.

Abstract
An iodine/DMSO catalyzed selective cyclization of N-tosylhydrazones with sulfur without adding external oxidant was developed for the synthesis of 4-aryl-1,2,3-thiadiazoles. In this reaction, oxidation of HI by using DMSO as dual oxidant and solvent is the key, which allowed the regeneration of I2, ensuring thus the success of the synthesis. This protocol features by simple operation, high step-economy (one-pot fashion), broad substrate scope as well as scale-up ability.

Abstract
A novel, transition-metal free route leading to imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives via iodine mediated oxidative coupling between 2-aminopyridine and aromatic terminal alkyne has been demonstrated. This newly developed method discloses an operationally simple way for the construction of imidazoheterocycles. Commercially available antiulcer drug zolimidine may readily be synthesized employing this method.

Abstract
A sequential one-pot approach to 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles has been developed from α-methylene ketones and aldehydes. This methodology employs air-moisture stable reaction conditions and an inexpensive iodine/DMSO system affording a diverse range of known and novel (substrate scope) 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles in moderate to excellent yields. The iodine/DMSO system was extended to the domino convergent synthesis of two functionalized intermediates, benzil and benzaldehyde, to produce the final product.

Abstract
A novel TBAI-catalyzed tandem thio-Michael addition/oxidative annulation of allenes and thioamides for the construction of polysubstituted 2-arylthiophenes under a sulfur migration transformation protocol has been developed. The transition-metal-free protocol achieves the oxidative cyclization reaction of thioamides containing electron-rich substituents with allenes to construct polysubstituted thiophenes selectively by controlling oxidation conditions.

Abstract
A novel I2 promoted, highly efficient metal-free and peroxide-free greener domino protocol for the C3-dicarbonylation of benzo[d]imidazo[2,1-b]thiazoles (IBTs) with styrenes has been developed via oxidative cleavage of the C(sp2)-H bond, followed by C3-nucleophilic attack of IBT and oxidation. Interestingly, under these conditions 2-(benzo[d]imidazo[2,1-b]thiazol-2-yl)aniline gave the benzo[4',5']thiazolo[2',3':2,3]imidazo[4,5-c]quinoline derivative via oxidative cleavage of the C(sp2)-H bond, followed by Pictet-Spengler cyclization and aromatization. This method offers the advantages of broad substrate scope, ecofriendly feature and high atom economy apart from higher yields.

Abstract
One-pot and metal free synthesis of α-ketoamides has been described through in situ generation of aryl ketones from easily available ethylarenes followed by amidation with various amines. This multiple oxidation protocol involves catalytic I2-pyridine-TBHP (t-butyl hydroperoxide) mediated oxidative benzylic carbonylation and sequential NaI-TBHP mediated oxidative amidation without using any solvent.
