Abstract
Various materials have been developed to capture volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to mitigate air pollution. However, sorbent materials with excellent resistance to water are rare. Here, several Fe/N-doped activated carbons (ACs) have been prepared to capture VOCs in humid environments. The ACs were analyzed by various characterization techniques, such as BET, SEM, XPS, XRD, FTIR, and Raman. The results showed that Fe/N doping resulted in the specific surface area of the ACs increasing by 500 to 1000 m2 g-1, the average pore size increasing to approximately 2 nm, improved mesoporous structure, higher graphitization, lower hydrophilicity, and polarity. The VOCs adsorption performance of the ACs was evaluated by static and dynamic adsorption experiments. The uptake of toluene and ethyl acetate by ACs was enhanced to 224 mg g-1 and 135 mg g-1, respectively. And ACs were able to maintain 70 to 80% VOCs adsorption capacity for VOCs at 80% relative humidity. Furthermore, the microscopic mechanisms were investigated by the grand canonical Monte Carlo method (GCMC). The highly graphitized structure and the N functional groups favored the VOC adsorption process and discouraged the adsorption of water vapor. This work affirmed the dominance of Fe/N-doped carbon, which will contribute to the evolution of water-resistant VOCs adsorbent materials.

Abstract
A new, stable and high-catalytic activity ferrocene-doped polystyrene nanosphere (PNFer) sol was prepared by the hydrogel procedure and characterized by electron microscopy and molecular spectroscopy. Results show that the nanosol exhibits excellent catalysis of the new indicator nanoreaction between AgNO3 and sodium formate to generate nanosilver with strong surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) and surface plasmon resonance absorption (Abs) trimode molecular spectral signals. This new nanocatalytic amplification trimode indicator reaction was coupled with the G-quadruplex DNAzyme catalytic amplification of Pb2+ aptamer to fabricate a new SERS quantitative/RRS/Abs assay platform for the determination of ultratrace amounts of Pb2+. The Pb2+ content in water samples was analyzed with satisfactory results.

Facile Fabrication of Hierarchical rGO/PANI@PtNi Nanocomposite via Microwave-Assisted Treatment for Non-Enzymatic Detection of Hydrogen Peroxide. NANOMATERIALS 2019; 9:nano9081109. Abstract
A hierarchical composite based on the modified reduced graphene oxide with platinum-nickel decorated polyaniline nano-spheres (rGO/PANI@PtNi) was facilely prepared via microwave-assisted self-reduction for an application in nonenzymatic hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) detection. Compared to the pristine rGO, the composite exhibited a much tougher surface due to the stacking of conductive PANI nano-spheres on rGO sheets, leading to good dispersion of PtNi nanoparticles and a large active area. Furthermore, the multi-valance Ni2+/3+ in the PtNi particles effectively promoted the catalytic property of Pt sites and facilitated a superior electrochemical performance of PtNi alloy than that of neat Pt. Owing to the synergistic effect of the improved electrical conductivity and the promoted electrocatalytical property, the modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with rGO/PANI@PtNi nanocomposite displayed an outstanding electrochemical sensitivity towards H2O2 with a fast response time (<2 s), a wide linear range (0.1–126.4 mM), a low detection limit (0.5 µM), as well as a long-life stability for one week without obvious degradation. This novel strategy opens a novel and promising approach to design high performance sensors for H2O2 detection.

Abstract
A facile one-pot and green method was developed to prepare a nanocomposite of gold nanoparticle (AuNP), graphene (GP) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS). Graphene was first electro-exfoliated in a polystyrene sulfonate solution, followed by a one-step simultaneous in situ formation of gold nanoparticle and PEDOT. The as-synthesized aqueous dispersion of AuNP-GP-PEDOT:PSS was thereafter used to modify the glassy carbon electrode (GCE). For the first time, the quaternary composite between AuNP, GP, PEDOT and PSS was used for selective determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA). In comparison to a bare GCE, the nanocomposite electrode shows considerably higher electrocatalytic activities toward the oxidation of DA and UA due to a synergistic effect between AuNP, GP, PEDOT and PSS. Using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), selective determination of DA and UA in the presence of AA could be achieved with a peak potential separation of 110 mV between DA and UA. The sensor exhibits wide linear responses for DA and UA in the ranges of 1 nM to 300 μM and 10 μM to 1 mM with detection limits (S/N = 3) of 100 pM and 10 μM, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed sensor was also successfully used to determine DA in a real pharmaceutical injection sample as well as DA and UA in human serum with satisfactory recovery results. A facile one-pot green synthesis of gold nanoparticle-graphene-PEDOT:PSS nanocomposite was successfully demonstrated.![]()

Molecularly imprinted polymers on graphene oxide surface for EIS sensing of testosterone. Biosens Bioelectron 2016; 92:305-312. Abstract
A novel electrochemical biosensor was developed for ultrasensitive determination of testosterone from femtomolar to micromolar levels via electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The sensor features a nanosized molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) film that was electrochemically grafted on a graphene-oxide sheets modified electrode. The detection mechanism of this senor is explained via the change of the interfacial impedance that derived from the recognition of the target molecule. Due to the nanosheet structure as well as the high surface area of graphene-oxide, the sensitivity of the MIP sensor is enhanced remarkably. Under an optimized condition, a wide linear range from 1fM to 1µm (1×10-15-1×10-6molL-1) and a detection limit of 0.4fM (4.0×10-16molL-1) was obtained. This composite film presented a good selectivity over structurally similar steroid hormones, and a long term stability in room temperature for the detection of testosterone. Considering these advantages, the MIP/GO electrochemical biosensor could be a substitute of testosterone immunosensor, and may be further extended to the detection of other endogenous substances.

Abstract
Due to the large specific surface area, extraordinary mechanical flexibility, chemical stability, and superior electrical and thermal conductivities, graphene (G)-based materials have recently opened up an exciting field in the science and technology of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials with continuously growing academic and technological impetus. In the past several years, graphene-based materials have been well designed, synthesized, and investigated for sensing applications. In this review, we discuss the synthesis and application of graphene-based 2D nanomaterials for the fabrication of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) electrochemical sensors. In particular, graphene-based nanomaterials as immobilization matrix of heme proteins for the fabrication of enzymatic H2O2 electrochemical biosensors is first summarized. Then, the application of graphene-based electrocatalysts (metal-free, noble-metals and non-noble metals) in constructing non-enzymatic H2O2 electrochemical sensors is discussed in detail. We hope that this review is helpful to push forward the advancement of this academic issue (189 references).
