Abstract
A BF3-catalyzed atom-economical fluorocarbamoylation reaction of alkyne-tethered carbamoyl fluorides is reported. The catalyst acts as both a fluoride source and Lewis acid activator, thereby enabling the formal insertion of alkynes into strong C-F bonds through a halide recycling mechanism. The developed method provides access to 3-(fluoromethylene) oxindoles and γ-lactams with excellent stereoselectivity, including fluorinated derivatives of known protein kinase inhibitors. Experimental and computational studies support a stepwise mechanism for the fluorocarbamoylation reaction involving a turnover-limiting cyclization step, followed by internal fluoride transfer from a BF3-coordinated carbamoyl adduct. For methylene oxindoles, a thermodynamically driven Z-E isomerization is facilitated by a transition state with aromatic character. In contrast, this aromatic stabilization is not relevant for γ-lactams, which results in a higher barrier for isomerization and the exclusive formation of the Z-isomer.

Abstract
We report herein a tandem reaction of para-quinone methides with TMSCF2Br to construct bromofluoroalkenes in a Z-selective manner. While TMSCF2Br has been documented as the precursor of difluoro carbene, it exhibits another possibility in this transformation, a formal bromofluoro carbene surrogate. The alkenyl bromide unit of the products could directly engage in a variety of transformations.

Abstract
Herein, we report a metal-free intramolecular carbofluorination protocol for the synthesis of tetrasubstituted monofluoroalkenes from internal α,β-ynones and Selectfluor with both high stereoselectivity and broad functional group tolerance. The chelation between tetrafluoroborate anion and the oxygen present in the aldehyde group rendered the reaction highly stereoselective, with the tetrafluoroborate serving as the direct fluorine source. Therefore, with addition of sodium tetrafluoroborate, Selectfluor could be reused several times without sacrificing reactivity.

Abstract
A novel, simple, effective and rapid synthetic method to construct the C-2 trifluoromethylated indolinyl ketones via a copper-catalyzed cyclization reaction between N-alkylaniline and β-(trifluoromethyl)-α,β-unsaturated enones was developed. The results of the control experiments show that the reaction may involve a radical mechanism by a single-electron transfer process. Moreover, a broad substrate scope and good functional groups, high diastereoselectivities (dr, up to >20 : 1) as well as gram-scale synthesis make this approach highly attractive.

Abstract
With Ph3P+CF2COO- or TMSCF2Br as the difluorocarbene sources, a facile metal-free cycloaddition between heteroconjugated alkenes and difluorocarbene was developed for the highly convergent synthesis of novel difluorinated heterocyclics, including gem-difluorinated azetidines and 2,3-dihydrobenzofurans. The cycloaddition features high reactivity and regioselectivity, as well as good tolerance of various electron-donating or electron-withdrawing substituents on azaheptafulvenes and o-quinone methides.

Abstract
Trifluoromethylated compounds are usually obtained via trifluoromethylation reaction by the use of CF3SiMe3 and NaSO2CF3, Umemoto's and Togni's reagents. Here, an external fluorine anion-free direct deoxyhydrotrifluoromethylation of α-keto esters with a difluoromethylating reagent has been achieved, in which the employment of water can promote the dissociation of the CF2 group to form a CF3 moiety, which provides the successful transformation. The current protocol demonstrates one of the most practical approaches to generate α-trifluoromethyl esters with a broad substrate scope and high functional group compatibility, in which it is applicable to late-stage modification of biologically active compounds and can be readily scaled up. Mechanistic investigation reveals that an in situ-generated gem-difluoroalkene intermediate is decomposed by water, giving rise to acid fluoride and HF.

Abstract
A nickel-catalyzed difluoroalkylation of α-C-H bonds of aryl ketones to furnish highly stereo-defined tetrasubstituted monofluoroalkenes or quaternary alkyl difluorides from secondary or tertiary ketones, respectively, has been established. Mechanistic investigations indicated that these C-H fluoroalkylations proceed via a Ni(i)/Ni(iii) catalytic cycle. An obvious fluorine effect was observed in the reaction, and this reaction has demonstrated high stereoselectivity, mild conditions, and broad substrate scopes, thus enabling the late-stage fluoroalkylation of bioactive molecules. This method offers a solution for expedient construction of monofluoroalkenes from readily available materials, and provides an efficient approach for the synthesis of bioactive fluorinated compounds for the discovery of lead compounds in medicinal chemistry.

Abstract
The reaction of thiocarbonyl fluoride, generated from difluorocarbene, with various amines under mild conditions is described. Secondary amines, primary amines, and o-phenylenediamines are converted to thiocarbamoyl fluorides, isothiocyanates, and difluoromethylthiolated heterocycles, respectively. Thiocarbamoyl fluorides were further transformed into trifluoromethylated amines by using a one-pot process. Thiocarbonyl fluoride is generated in situ and is rapidly fully converted in one pot under mild conditions; therefore, no special safety precautions are needed.

Abstract
Trifluoromethylthiolation by sulfuration of difluorocarbene with elemental sulfur is described for the first time, which overrides long-standing trifluoromethyl anion-based theory. Mechanistic elucidation reveals an unprecedented chemical process for the formation of thiocarbonyl fluoride and also enables transition-metal-mediated trifluoromethylthiolation and [18 F]trifluoromethylthiolation of α-bromo carbonyl compounds with broad substrate scope and compatibility.
