Abstract
A novel, efficient and facile protocol for the synthesis of a series of [Ru(NHC)(CO3)(p-cymene)] complexes is reported. This family of Ru-NHC complexes was obtained from imidazol(in)ium tetrafluoroborate or imidazolium hydrogen carbonate salts in moderate to excellent yields, employing sustainable weak base. The ruthenium complexes were successfully utilized in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones as highly active multifunctional catalysts.

Abstract
Chrysin amino acid derivatives were synthesized to evaluate for their antiproliferative activities. Among them, N-(7-((5-hydroxy-4-oxo-2-phenyl-4H-chromen-7-yl)oxy)valeryl)-L-leucine (8c) displayed the most remarkable inhibitory activities against MCF-7 cells with IC50 values of 16.6 μM. Preliminary mechanistic studies showed that 8c could inhibit the colony formation and migration of MCF-7 cells. Flow cytometry analysis demonstrated that 8c mediated cell apoptosis and the prolongation of cell cycle progression in G1/S-phase against MCF-7 cells. Besides, 8c displayed the moderate inhibition against EGFR. Western blot assay suggested that 8c significantly inhibited EGFR phosphorylation. Molecular docking showed that 8c can bind the EGFR kinase well.

Abstract
A Au(i)–N-heterocyclic-carbene (NHC)-edged Pd6L12 molecular metal–organic cage is assembled from a Au(i)–NHC-based bipyridyl bent ligand and Pd2+. The octahedral cage structure is unambiguously established by NMR, electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry and single crystal X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical behaviour was analyzed by cyclic voltammetry. The octahedral cage has a central cavity for guest binding, and is capable of encapsulating PF6− and BF4− anions within the cavity. A Au(i)–NHC-edged Pd6L12 molecular cage is assembled from a Au(i)–NHC-based bipyridyl bent ligand and Pd2+.![]()

Abstract
A new type of inhibitor is studied in this paper. Inhibition efficiency and adsorption behavior of an inhibitor film on the steel surface is tested via the electrochemical method and theoretical calculation to establish the adsorption model. Test results confirm that inhibition efficiency is improved with the addition of an inhibitor, and the inhibitor film is formed firmly by comparing the characteristic peaks of S and N. Moreover, the micro-zone corrosion progress of Fe in 3.5% invasive NaCl-simulated seawater environment is studied. The results further show that corrosion is initiated under the zone without the inhibitor film, while it is prevented under the protection of the film. By the experiments, it is shown that inhibitor can be adsorbed on the surface of steel stably and has excellent protection performance for reinforced rebar, which can be widely used in concrete structure.
