Abstract
Molecular imprinting is known as a method for synthesizing materials that selectively adsorb specific molecules. The polymers obtained by this method are inexpensive, highly chemically stable, and easy to prepare, but there is a problem that definite and easy detection of the adsorption of target molecules is difficult. We aimed to achieve selective fluorescence detection of proteins by introducing fluorescent molecules into a molecularly imprinted hydrogel (MIH). For fluorescence detection, we used aggregation-induced emission (AIE), which has been attracting attention in recent years. Molecules exhibiting AIE have the characteristic that their fluorescence intensity increases due to factors such as aggregation of molecules or chemical interaction with target molecules. A new AIE monomer was synthesized, and its characteristics were evaluated. The MIHs were prepared with an AIE monomer, functional monomers, poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate as a crosslinker, and lysozyme as a target protein. The MIHs showed selective adsorption for lysozyme and a specific increase in fluorescent intensity. Even in a protein mixture sample, we achieved optical detection for lysozyme.

Abstract
Sample pretreatment is a key step for qualitative and quantitative analysis of trace substances in complex samples. Cis-dihydroxyl (cis-diol) group-containing substances exist widely in biological samples and can be selectively bound by boronate affinity adsorbents. Based on this, in this article, we proposed a simple method for the preparation of novel spherical three-dimensionally ordered macropore (3DOM) materials based on a combination of the boronate affinity technique and colloidal crystal template method. The prepared 3DOM materials were characterized using Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermo-gravimetric analysis, and results showed that they possessed the characteristics of a high specific surface area, high porosity, and more boronic acid recognition sites. The adsorption performance evaluation results showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of the boron affinity 3DOMs on ovalbumin (OVA) could reach to 438.79 mg/g. Kinetic and isothermal adsorption experiments indicated that the boronate affinity 3DOM material exhibited a high affinity and selectivity towards OVA and adenosine. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis of the proteins in egg whites was conducted and proved that the glycoprotein in the egg whites could be separated and enriched with a good performance. Therefore, a novel boronate affinity 3DOM material a with highly ordered and interconnected pore structure was prepared and could be applied in the separation and enrichment of molecules with cis-diol groups from complex samples with a good selectivity, efficiency, and high throughput.

Abstract
Chlorpyrifos, as a moderate toxic organophosphorus pesticide, is prone to lingering in the environment and cannot be monitored easily. In this study, a magnetic, microporous, molecularly imprinted polymer was synthesized by using the reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization method. The synthesized materials were properly characterized in terms of morphology, selectivity, and sorption capacity and used as sorbents for magnetic solid phase extraction for the selective determination of chlorpyrifos in apple samples. Results showed that the magnetic microporous molecularly imprinted materials were rough and porous spheres at an average size of 5 nm. The materials were highly selective toward chlorpyrifos with a superior sorption capacity of 167.99 mg·g-1 and were resistant to the interference of competitive pollutants. After optimization, the recoveries of chlorpyrifos reached 96.2-106.5%, and the detection limit was 0.028 μg·kg-1 by HPLC. Based on these analytical validation results, the developed method could be effective at determining chlorpyrifos in apples.

Abstract
Proteins are typically separated by an immune reaction, such as an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and are detected by selective fluorescent labeling. This has potential for complicated procedures and the denaturation of proteins by labeling, and is cost consuming. In this study, we propose a technique for the selective separation and detection of a target protein using a molecularly imprinted hydrogel (PI gel) with fluorescent monomers. We focused on 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid (ANS), where the fluorescence intensity is easily changed by the interaction with proteins, and successfully synthesized the ANS monomer and a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) conjugated ANS monomer. The PI gel with the ANS monomers using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as a template showed the selective adsorption of BSA and the fluorescence intensity increased due to the adsorption of BSA.

Abstract
In this research, in order to separate and purify diol-containing macrolide antibiotics, like tylosin, from complex biological samples, molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based on boronate affinity for tylosin was synthesized by using precipitation polymerization method with 4-vinylphenylboronic acid (VPBA) and dimethyl aminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) as pH-responsive functional monomers, and N,N'-methylene bisacrylamide (MBAA)/ ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the co-crosslinkers that balance the hydrophobicity of the MIP. The synthesized tylosin-MIP had the advantages of high adsorption capacity (120 mg/g), fast pH-responsiveness responsible for the accessibility of imprinted cavities, and high selectivity coefficient towards tylosin versus its analogues (2.8 versus spiramycin, 7.3 versus desmycosin) in an aqueous environment. The mechanism of boronate affinity between tylosin and VPBA in the form of charged hydrogen bonding was analyzed via density functional theory (DFT). MIPs were used to successfully separate diol-containing macrolides through molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction (MISPE). The results show that MIPs prepared in this method have a good application prospect in the separation and purification of the diol-containing macrolide antibiotics.

Abstract
Many boronic acid-based chemosensors for saccharides have been developed; however, their detection mechanisms have seldom been studied. In this study, we synthesized 10 o-azophenylboronic acid derivatives (azoBs) and conducted a fundamental study on the reactivity and the sensing mechanism of azoBs, which undergoes a large color change, e.g., from red to yellow, upon a reaction with saccharides. Their pH-independent formation constants were determined by spectrophotometric titration and then converted to the conditional formation constant K' at pH 7.4. A linear free energy relationship was established between log K' and the pKa of azoB. 11B NMR measurements indicate that in aprotic solvents, azoB forms a trigonal planar structure, while in protic solvents, it forms a quasi-tetrahedral structure (azoB-ROH) with a protic solvent molecule (ROH) inserted between the boronic acid moiety and the azo group. In addition, UV-vis spectroscopic studies showed that the color change during the reaction between azoB and d-fructose in ROH was caused by the release of the ROH from azoB-ROH by d-fructose. Based on the findings in this study, we proposed a guideline for designing an azoB-based chemosensor that exhibits high reactivity toward saccharides and a sufficient color change to allow for the visual detection of saccharides.

Abstract
A highly-active tyrosinase (H subunit) isoform has been purified from a commercial crude extract of Agaricus bisporus by a specific, two step-hydrophobic chromatography cascade process based on the differential adsorption of the proteins from the extract to hydrophobic-functionalized supports. At first, commercial, crude tyrosinase from Agaricus bisporus (AbTyr) dissolved in aqueous media was added to octadecyl-Sepabeads matrix at 25 °C. Under these conditions, the support specifically adsorbed a protein with a molecular weight of 47 kDa which showed no tyrosinase activity. The known H subunit of tyrosinase from Agaricus bisporus (45 kDa, H-AbTyr) and another protein of 50 kDa were present in the supernatant. Sodium phosphate buffer was added to adjust the ionic strength of the solution up to 100 mM and Triton X-100 was added (final concentration of 0.07% v/v) to control the hydrophobicity effect for both proteins. This solution was offered again to fresh octadecyl-Sepabeads support, immobilizing selectively the H-AbTyr and leaving exclusively the 50 kDa protein as a pure sample in the supernatant. This tyrosinase isoform of 50 kDa was almost 4-fold more active than the known H-TyrAb, with a specific tyrosinase activity of more than 38,000 U/mg.
