Abstract
A sustainable, photocatalytic approach for the synthesis of oxindoles and chroman-4-ones was developed using carboxylate salts as radical precursors and FeCl3 as a catalyst. The reaction proceeds via a decarboxylative radical cyclization mechanism triggered by ligand-to-metal charge transfer under visible light irradiation, operating efficiently at room temperature. This method demonstrates excellent substrate scope, including the use of various alkyl carboxylates, and functional group tolerance and offers a scalable pathway for gram-scale synthesis, highlighting its practical application.

Abstract
Organic molecules containing a difluoroalkyl group are valuable and versatile chemicals because of their unique physicochemical and biological properties. Accordingly, the development of efficient and practical difluoroalkylation for the preparation of these compounds is important and attractive. Herein, we demonstrate photoredox-catalyzed and base-dependent selective carbodifluoroalkylation and halodifluoroalkylation of alkenes using readily available 2-(allyloxy)arylaldehydes [or 2-(allylamino)arylaldehydes] and XCF2COOEt (or BrCF2CONR1R2) as starting materials. The developed reaction enables convenient and accurate synthesis of difluoroalkylated chroman-4-ones and aldehydes and features broad substrate scope, mild conditions, and operational simplicity. Moreover, gram-scale product preparation and application of the title protocol in late-stage functionalization of pharmaceutical molecules are accomplished.

Abstract
A novel methodology for the synthesis of indanone derivates has been developed. The palladium-catalyzed annulation reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes with norbornene derivatives is achieved through extremely concise reaction processes. The indanone skeleton was established directly via C-H activation of the aldehyde group under a mild reaction condition. This method is simple and practical, which simplified the traditional synthesis method for the rapid construction of indanone.

Abstract
A Rh-catalyzed highly chemo- and enantioselective hydrogenation of 2-CF3-chromen/thiochromen-4-ones was successfully established achieving excellent selectivity and high turnover numbers. Under mild conditions, a series of 2-CF3-chromen-4-ones were hydrogenated to provide the corresponding chiral 2-CF3-chroman-4-ones with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99.9% ee) and achieve high turnover numbers (TON of up to 11,800). Moreover, the obtained hydrogenation products were also successfully transformed into other derivatives including the important intermediate of plasmepsin inhibitors with maintained enantiopurity.

Abstract
A silver-catalyzed intramolecular radical relay cyclization of α-imino-oxy acids under mild conditions has been described. This reaction offers facile access to a diverse range of fused tetralone derivatives with exquisite stereoselectivity in moderate to good yields (40-98%). Experimental studies show that the reaction undergoes a decarboxylation and acetone fragmentation/1,5-hydrogen atom transfer (HAT)/cyclization process.

Abstract
A convenient and practical method for the synthesis of bioactive ester-containing chroman-4-ones through the cascade radical cyclization of 2-(allyloxy)arylaldehydes and oxalates is described. The preliminary studies suggest that an alkoxycarbonyl radical might be involved in the current transformation, which was generated via the decarboxylation of oxalates in the presence of (NH4)2S2O8.

Abstract
An efficient and straightforward approach for the synthesis of carbamoylated chroman-4-ones has been well-developed. The reaction is triggered through the generation of carbamoyl radicals from oxamic acids under metal-free conditions, which subsequently undergoes decarboxylative radical cascade cyclization on 2-(allyloxy)arylaldehydes to afford various amide-containing chroman-4-one scaffolds with high functional group tolerance and a broad substrate scope.

Abstract
We report the transition-metal-free defluorinative C-C bond-forming reaction of trifluoromethyl alkenes with gem-(diborylalkyl)lithiums. This synthetic strategy provides access to a variety of 4,4-difluoro homoallylic diboronate esters, which serve as versatile intermediates in the efficient preparation of valuable gem-difluoroalkene derivatives. Further synthetic modifications are conducted to demonstrate the synthetic utility of the obtained 4,4-difluoro homoallylic diboronate esters.

Abstract
A silver-catalyzed formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction, with cyclopropanols as a C3 subunit and imines as a two-atom subunit, is developed. The reaction takes place under mild conditions and produces a broad array of polysubstituted pyrroles in medium to high yields. It represents the first example of oxidative radical addition to imines, thus offering a new choice for the direct C-H functionalization of imines.

Abstract
A Fe-catalyzed domino Knoevenagel-hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of alkenyl aldehydes and 1,3-diketones has been developed. It provides straightforward access to a series of oxabicyclo[3.3.1]nonene derivatives in promising yields with excellent diastereoselectivity and functional group tolerance. The resultant bridged dihydropyrans can be smoothly converted into chromene derivatives, thus highlighting the synthetic utility of this method.

Abstract
A concise and catalyst-free aryltrifluoromethylative cyclization of unactivated alkenes has been developed herein. The use of PhICF3Cl as a powerful trifluoromethylating agent allows easy transformations. A set of trifluoroethylated carbocycles and aza-hereocycles were efficiently synthesized in good yield and selectivity. A broad substrate scope, mild reaction conditions, and easy operation would make this method well-suited for applications.

Abstract
A practical and efficient method for selective intramolecular radical trifluoromethylacylation and -arylation of alkenes with inexpensive CF3SO2Na and K2S2O8 in aqueous media has been developed, respectively, affording the highly chemoselective synthesis of CF3-functionalized chroman-4-ones and chromanes in satisfactory yields. Control experiments and DFT calculations indicate that the CF3SO2Na/K2S2O8 system is capable of trifluoromethylating the substrate of alkenes without a transition metal catalyst and the oxidation of CF3SO2Na to ·CF3 by K2S2O8 is involved in the rate-determining step.

Abstract
The development of catalytic carboacylation of simple olefins, which would enable the rapid construction of ketones with high levels of complexity and diversity, is very challenging. To date, the vast majority of alkene carboacylation reactions are typically restricted to single- and two-component methodologies. Here we describe a three-component carboacylation of alkenes via the merger of radical chemistry with nickel catalysis. This reaction manifold utilizes a radical relay strategy involving radical addition to an alkene followed by alkyl radical capture by an acyl-nickel complex to forge two vicinal C-C bonds under mild conditions. Excellent chemoselectivity and regioselectivity have been achieved by utilizing a pendant weakly chelating group. This versatile protocol allows for facile access to a wide range of important β-fluoroalkyl ketones from simple starting materials.
