Abstract
This paper reports a novel method for the visible-light-mediated synthesis of quinazolinones from the reaction of benzyl bromides with 2-aminobenzamides. The reaction proceeded efficiently at room temperature upon irradiation with an 18 W blue light-emitting diode in air without photocatalysts or additives. By varying the solvent type, substrate molar ratio, and reaction time, the optimal reaction conditions, including the use of methanol solvent, room temperature, and reaction time of 28 h, were identified. Under these conditions, various quinazolinones were obtained using 18 substrates, with the highest yield of 93%. To determine the industrial value of the proposed method, a scale-up reaction was performed and 80% product yield was achieved. Mechanistic studies revealed that the reaction likely proceeded via a radical pathway and that the hydrogen bromide by-product generated during the first step of the reaction of benzyl bromide with 2-aminobenzamide promoted the subsequent step.

Abstract
In this study, a Co-MOF was synthesized via a co-precipitation procedure and then used as support for stabilizing Ag ions and producing Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite by microwave irradiation. The characterization of synthesized Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite was performed by using different techniques such as field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analyses, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR). The prepared Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite was applied as a heterogeneous nano-catalyst in the synthesis of pyrazolopyranopyrimidines in water at 50 °C via the one-pot multicomponent reaction of ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, aromatic aldehydes and barbituric acid derivatives. Through this straightforward and effective protocol, different tricyclic fused pyrazolopyranopyrimidines were synthesized at high yields, and short reaction times, through an uncomplicated work-up process with no by-product. The Co-MOF@Ag2O nanocomposite has been effectively recycled for four consecutive cycles without appreciable loss in its activity. Cost-effectiveness, no need for column chromatography, mild conditions, catalyst recyclability, and eco-friendly nature make it a promising candidate compared to other methods.

Abstract
DABCO (1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) has garnered a lot of interest for numerous organic transformations since it is a low-cost, environmentally friendly, reactive, manageable, non-toxic and basic organocatalyst with a high degree of selectivity. Moreover, DABCO functions as a nucleophile as well as a base in a variety of processes for the synthesis of a wide array of molecules, including carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds. Protection and deprotection of functional groups and the formation of carbon-carbon bonds are also catalyzed by DABCO. The reagent also finds applications in the synthesis of functional groups like isothiocyanate, amide and ester. Application of DABCO in cycloaddition, coupling, aromatic nucleophilic substitution, ring-opening, oxidation and rearrangement reactions is also noteworthy. This is a state of the art review that has encompassed a variety of processes for the synthesis of organic frameworks using DABCO.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks as a unique class of high-surface-area materials have gained considerable attention due to their characteristic properties. In this perspective, herein, we report an eco-friendly and inexpensive route for the synthesis of 4(3H)-quinazolinones using magnetically separable core-shell-like bimetallic Fe3O4-MAA@Co-MOF@Cu-MOF NPs as environmentally-friendly heterogeneous catalysts. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of the integration of two different types of MOFs, which contain two different metal ions (Co2+ in the core and Cu2+ in the shell) using an external ligand. Our study not only introduces a novel nanostructured catalyst for the organic reaction but also presents a new strategy for the combination of two MOFs in one particle at the nanometer level. To survey the structural and compositional features of the synthesized nanocatalyst, a variety of spectroscopic and microscopic techniques including FT-IR, XRD, BET, TEM, HR-TEM, FE-SEM, EDX, EDX-mapping, TGA, VSM, and ICP-OES were employed. The combination of magnetic Co-MOF with Cu-MOF leads to achieving unique structural and compositional properties for Fe3O4-MAA@Co-MOF@Cu-MOF NPs with a particle size of 20-70 nm, mesostructure, and relatively large specific surface area (236.16 m2 g-1). The as-prepared nanostructured catalyst can be an excellent environment catalyst for the synthesis of a wide library of 4(3H)-quinazolinones derivatives, including electron-donating and electron-withdrawing aromatic, heteroaromatic, and aliphatic compounds under solvent-free conditions much better than the parent precursors. Moreover, by investigating the longevity of the nanocatalyst, the conclusion could be derived that the aforesaid nanocatalyst is stable under reaction conditions and could be recycled for at least seven recycle runs without a discernible decrease in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
In the present work, we report the design and fabrication of a copper-containing ionic liquid supported magnetic nanocatalyst via a convenient and straightforward synthetic approach for the formation of 2-phenylquinazolin-4(3H)-ones using o-aminobenzamide and benzaldehydes as the reaction partners. The successful formation and properties of the as-prepared catalyst have been thoroughly investigated using diverse physico-chemical techniques including FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, ICP, VSM, BET and TGA. Using this nanocatalytic system, a variety of 2-phenylquinazolin-4(3H)-ones are synthesized in excellent yields with operational ease and short reaction times in an environmentally preferable solvent under open air and without using any external oxidizing agent. Besides, the catalyst possessed facile magnetic recoverability and remarkable reusability for six consecutive runs without any appreciable decrease in the catalytic efficiency.

Abstract
One of the organocatalysts 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) is an excellent solid
catalyst in a number of reactions. It is also a good nucleophile and a base in numerous reactions for the
synthesis of heterocycles. DABCO catalyzes many reactions like cycloaddition reactions, coupling reactions,
Baylis-Hillman reaction, Henry reaction, ring opening reactions, etc. One more advanced feature
of these reactions is that they proceed through environmental friendly pathway. DABCO has
more advantages than other organic catalysts because it is an inexpensive, non.toxic base, an ecofriendly
and a highly reactive catalyst for building of organic frameworks, which produce the desired
products in excellent yields with high selectivity. Many catalytic applications of DABCO have been
reported for the synthesis of an organic framework which has been discussed in this review.

Abstract
The current study applied laccase/DDQ as a bioinspired cooperative catalytic system for the synthesis of quinazolinones (80–95% yield) and benzothiazoles (65–98% yield) using air or O2 as ideal oxidants in aqueous media at ambient temperature. The aerobic oxidative cyclization reactions occur in two steps: (i) chemical cyclization; (ii) chemoenzymatic oxidation. These methods are more environment-friendly, efficient, simple and practical than other reported methods due to the use of O2 as an oxidant, laccase as an eco-friendly biocatalyst, aqueous media as the solvent and free from any toxic transition metal and halide catalysts. Therefore, these methods can be applied in pharmaceutical and other sensitive synthetic procedures. In this paper laccase/DDQ as a bioinspired cooperative catalytic system was applied for the synthesis of quinazolinones and benzothiazoles using air or O2 as ideal oxidant in aqueous media under mild conditions.![]()
