Abstract
The visible-light-mediated tandem phosphorylation/cyclization of N-arylacrylamides with H-phosphine oxides has been developed for the synthesis of phosphorylated oxindoles. This efficient and facile process was useful for the construction of a C-P bond and triggered the formation of a C-C bond with good compatibility with functional groups undermild reaction conditions.

Abstract
The first examples of cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene (CAAC) lanthanide (Ln) complexes were synthesized from the reaction of CAAC with Yb[N(SiMe3)2]2 and Eu[N(SiMe3)2]2(THF)2 (THF = tetrahydrofuran). The structures of (CAAC)Yb[N(SiMe3)2]2 (2) and (CAAC)Eu[N(SiMe3)2]2(THF) (3) were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Density functional theory calculations of 2 revealed the predominantly ionic bond between the Ln ion and CAAC. Complex 3 enabled catalytic hydrosilylation of aryl- and silylalkenes with primary and secondary silanes in high yields and Markovnikov selectivity.

Abstract
A novel palladium-catalyzed [4 + 1] cycloaddition to give spirotetrahydrofuran oxindoles has been developed, in which diphenyl 2-oxoindolin-3-yl phosphates were used as the both electrophilic and nucleophilic C1 synthons at C-3 of the oxindole unit and 2-methylidenetrimethylene carbonate was used as the 1,4-dipole. The cycloannulation was performed at room temperature and provided the corresponding spirotetrahydrofuran oxindoles in good to excellent yields. The present method affords a new strategy for the construction of spirooxindole derivatives with unique three-dimensional structures.

Abstract
A lanthanide silylamide-catalyzed tandem reaction of isatins, diethyl phosphite, and 2,3-diarylcyclopropenones has been developed. A series of pyrano[2,3-b]indol-2-ones were synthesized in high yields. The cooperation of the Lewis acidity of the lanthanide center and the Bronsted basicity of the N(SiMe3)2 anion may be the key factor affecting the catalytic activity of lanthanide amides.

Abstract
α-Aryl oxindoles are accessed from isatin via a two-step procedure involving a phospha-Brook rearrangement and a Friedel-Crafts alkylation in a one-pot procedure. The use of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol as solvent significantly extended the reaction substrate scope to include relatively less electron-rich arenes including benzene. This new alkylation method is fast and straightforward and allows for the direct introduction of the oxindole moiety onto a range of aromatic compounds including phenols. Additionally, the application of arylated products was shown in decarboxylative asymmetric allylation and protonation.

Abstract
Lanthanide bis(trimethylsilyl)amides, [(Me3Si)2N]3Ln(μ-Cl)Li(THF)3, were used as efficient catalysts for a one-pot reaction of α-ketoesters, dialkyl phosphite, and activated alkenes to produce α-dicarbonyl cyclopropanes in moderate to high yields. The reaction was stereoselective and the two adjacent carbonyls linked to the cyclopropane were in the cis-configuration. The high efficiency of the lanthanide amide in catalysing the reaction is the result of the cooperation between the lanthanide metal centre and the N(SiMe3)2 anion.
