Design and synthesis of PDSPTCF as an influential Brønsted-Lewis acidic catalyst for the producing benzo[a]benzo[6,7]chromeno[2,3-c]phenazines. Sci Rep 2024; 14:29907. Abstract
Initially, 4,4'-(1,4-phenylene)di(sulfonic)pyridinium tetrachloroferrate (PDSPTCF) as a novel organic-inorganic hybrid salt was synthesized and identified by elemental mapping, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer, Raman spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, vibrating-sample magnetometry, and thermal gravimetric (TG) techniques. Then, the catalytic performance of this hybrid salt was assessed for the producing benzo[a]benzo[6,7]chromeno[2,3-c]phenazine derivatives via one-pot multicomponent domino reaction (MDR) of benzene-1,2-diamine, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione and aldehydes under optimal conditions (70 °C, solvent-free, 5 mol% PDSPTCF) in short reaction times and high yields. Highly efficacy of the PDSPTCF for the production of benzo[a]pyrano[2,3-c]phenazines can be assigned to the synergistic effect of Lewis and Brønsted acids, and having two positions of each acid (i.e., FeCl4- and -SO3H). In addition, this catalyst showed good reproducibility with six cycles of recycling.

Abstract
The field of cascade cyclization for the construction of 1,4-dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs) has been continuously expanding during the last decades because of their broad-spectrum biological and synthetic importance. To date, many methods have been developed, mainly including the Hantzsch reaction, Hantzsch-like reaction and newly developed cascade cyclization, in which various synthons have been successively developed as C4 sources of 1,4-DHPs. This review presents the cascade cyclization synthesis strategy for the construction of 1,4-DHPs according to various C4 sources from carbonyl compounds, alkenyl fragments, alcohols, aliphatic amines, glycines and other C4 sources.

Abstract
A Ru-catalyzed acceptorless dehydrogenative multicomponent reaction has been developed. This reaction offers a cost-effective and simple operational strategy to synthesize biologically active 1,8-dioxodecahydroacridine derivatives. The protocol provides a wide range of substrate scope and various functional groups are also well tolerated under the reaction condition. To shed light on the mechanistic and kinetic study, some controlled experiments and deuterium labeling experiments were executed. A time-dependent product distribution experiment is also presented and the reaction scale-up is performed to highlight the practical utility of this strategy.

Abstract
6-Amino-5-cyano-2-oxo-N-(pyridin-2-yl)-4-(p-tolyl)-2H-[1,2'-bipyridine]-3-carboxamide and 6-amino-5-cyano-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-oxo-N-(pyridin-2-yl)-2H-[1,2'-bipyridine]-3-carboxamide were synthesized through three-component reaction between N1,N3-di(pyridin-2-yl)-malonamide, aldehyde and malononitrile in water using triethylamine as a base at room temperature. Synthesized compounds were characterized by using different techniques (FT-IR, NMR and X-ray diffraction). Additionally, the mentioned compounds were investigated by computational chemistry methods. Obtained results were supported with calculated results. Additionally, NLO properties and molecular docking analyses of related compounds were examined in detail. The binding modes of the compounds 4a and 4b were explored with the colchicine binding site of tubulin, from molecular docking studies, remarkable interactions have been observed for 4a and 4b near to the colchicines binding site of tubulin that may contribute to the inhibition of tubulin polymerization and anticancer activity.

Abstract
In this study, we detail the development of a concise and efficient three-component protocol for the regioselective synthesis of highly functionalized bis-indoles through a one-pot, two-step sequential process starting from enaminones 1, indoles 2, and acenaphthylene-1,2-dione 3 that is catalyzed by piperidine and p-methyl benzenesulfonic acid. This protocol has several advantages including simplicity of experimental operation, high efficiency of bond formation, ready availability and low cost of starting materials, environmentally benign conditions, and target molecular diversity.

Abstract
Efficient and divergent one-pot synthesis of polyfunctionalized 2-pyridones from β-keto amides based on reaction condition selection was developed. The methodology offers several significant advantages including mild conditions, ease of handling, high yields, and a relatively broad range of substrates. Based on various experiments and observations, a plausible mechanism for the selective synthesis of 2-pyridones was proposed.
