Abstract
This review reports recent accesses to the dibenzofuran nucleus described in the literature since 2008. This article starts with synthesizing dibenzofurans by creating the C-O bond of the furan ring. In the following section, we evoke the formation of dibenzofurans by cyclizing diarylether derivatives. The last part of this update concerns the construction of dibenzofurans from benzofuran or phenol derivatives. Representative examples showing the scope of these processes illustrate new approaches and biological activities of dibenzofurans. Reaction mechanisms explaining certain dibenzofuran formation are described, as suggested by their authors.

Abstract
2,4,6-Triarylpyridines are key building blocks to access functional molecules that are used in the design of advanced materials, metal-organic frameworks, supramolecules, reactive chemical intermediates and drugs. A number of synthetic protocols to construct this heterocyclic scaffold have been developed to date, the most recent of which (2015-present) are included and discussed in the present review. An emphasis has been placed on the utility of each synthetic approach in view of the scope of aryl/hetaryl substituents, limitations and an outlook of each method to be used in applied sciences.

Abstract
Existing synthetic routes for accessing dibenzofuran core have intrinsic regioselectivity, limiting the substitution patterns available in heteropolycyclic arene products. Here we report a double 1,4-conjugate addition/intramolecular annulation cascade reaction between propargylamines and two equivalents of imidazolium methylides that allows efficient access of structurally versatile dibenzofurans. This transition metal-free protocol proceeds smoothly under bench-top air atmosphere and offers easy manipulation of substituents on the dibenzofuran core, and also provides good-to-excellent product yields with good functional group tolerance, particularly the -Br and -Cl groups which are often incompatible with existing metal-catalyzed C-C and/or C-O bond ring-forming processes. It is worth noting that ladder-type π-systems with all-arene quarternary carbon structure can be straightforwardly generated upon simple late-stage functionalization.

Abstract
Herein, a convenient and efficient synthesis of 7-benzoyl-6-(aryl)-6,7-dihydro-5H-furo[2,3-d]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-one derivatives was achieved from the reaction of isoquinolinium N-ylides, aromatic aldehydes, and heterocyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds via one-pot three-component diastereoselective domino reaction in good-to-excellent yields. The advantages of this protocol are easily available starting materials, operational simplicity, and avoidance of hazardous organic solvents and catalyst. The synthesized products were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectra. Additionally, the conclusive structure of target compounds was confirmed by X-Ray diffraction analysis.

Abstract
The one-pot base-promoted cascade double [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of N-cyanomethylisoquinolinium chloride with (E)-3-arylideneindolin-2-ones and (E)-N-hydroxybenzimidoyl chloride afforded novel polycyclic spiro[indoline-3,8'-isoxazolo[5,4-c]pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinolines] in good yields and with high diastereoselectivity. When 4-arylidenepyrazol-3-ones, 2-arylidene-1,3-indanediones and arylidenemalononitriles were employed in the reaction, the corresponding spiro[isoxazolo[5,4-c]pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline-8,4'-pyrazole], spiro[indene-2,8'-isoxazolo[5,4-c]pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline], and isoxazolo[5,4-c]pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline derivatives were also prepared in good yields and with high diastereoselectivty. The relative configurations of the polycyclic spiro compounds were clearly elucidated by determination of fifteen single crystal structures.
