Abstract
Herein, we report a novel ligand-switchable Pd-catalyzed carbene coupling reaction employing vinylethylene carbonates and sulfoxonium ylides. By proper choice of ligands, the chemoselectivity of the process could be efficiently regulated, allowing for the availability of dihydrofuran or dienol scaffolds. This method features mild reaction conditions, broad scope, and remarkable synthetic utility. Compound 6f can effectively stimulate the secretion of GLP-1, providing promising insight into the development of small-molecule agonists for the GLP-1 receptor.

Abstract
Diverse α-aryl α-carbonyl sulfoxonium ylides were efficiently synthesized in yields ranging from moderate to high via a palladium-catalyzed α-arylation of sulfoxonium ylides with aryl thianthrenium salts. The reactions proceeded smoothly via C-S and C-H bond functionalization, exhibiting broad substrate scope and good compatibility to various functionalities. In addition, the scale-up synthesis could be achieved, and the one-pot protocol commencing from the use of simple arene as the precursor of aryl thianthrenium salt could also be accomplished.

Abstract
A variety of α-arylated sulfoxonium ylides could be facilely synthesized in modest to high yields through α-arylation of sulfoxonium ylides with aryl fluorosulfates via C-O bond functionalization under palladium catalysis. Reactions using readily available and bench-stable aryl fluorosulfates as effective and appealing arylating agents showed both good substrate scope and broad functionality tolerance. Important functional groups such as nitro, cyano, formyl, acetyl, methoxycarbonyl, trifluoromethoxy, fluoro, and chloro embedded in substrates remained intact during the course of the reaction, and could be subjected to downstream modification. In addition, the reaction could be readily scalable and applied in the late-stage modification of complex molecules.

Abstract
A [Cp*IrCl2]2-catalyzed amidocarbonation of olefins with sulfoxonium ylides has been developed to generate diverse biologically important isoindolin-1-ones in high efficiency under mild reaction conditions. Mechanism studies indicated that this cascade reaction was triggered by amino-iridation of the olefin unit to generate iridacycle, followed by formal migratory insertion with sulfoxonium ylides. This newly developed method features broad substrate scopes and operational simplicity.

Abstract
The asymmetric induction afforded by a chiral sulfinyl group in a palladium/Brønsted-acid-catalyzed intramolecular allylic amination was investigated. Predictions of the diastereoselectivity for various substrates under assumed total thermodynamic control were obtained from density functional theory (DFT), and the correlation with experimental data demonstrates abrupt changes to kinetic control across the substrate scope. The resulting heterocyclic product was readily converted to valuable isoindoline-1-carboxylic acid esters by a two-step oxidation sequence, providing asymmetric access to a key unnatural α-amino acid scaffold.

Abstract
We herein describe a highly selective Rh(I)-catalyzed defluorinative coupling of boronic acids with (E)-β-monofluoroacrylates. In contrast to previous methods, the trisubstituted (Z)-alkene products were obtained in excellent dr with an inversion of double bond geometry. Experimental and computational studies established that Rh(I)-facilitated β-F elimination is favored over competing β-H elimination and protodemetalation.

Abstract
Previous transition metal-catalyzed synthesis processes of δ-diketones are plagued by the high cost of the rhodium catalyst and harsh reaction conditions. Herein a low-cost, room temperature ruthenium catalytic method is developed based on the coupling of α-keto sulfoxonium ylides with cyclopropanols. The mild protocol features a broad substrate scope (47 examples) and a high product yield (up to 99%). Mechanistic studies argue against a radical pathway and support a cyclopropanol ring opening, sulfoxonium ylide-derived carbenoid formation, migratory insertion C-C bond formation pathway.
