A Bi(OTf)3-Promoted Hydrosulfonylation of Alkenes with Sulfonyl Hydrazides: An Approach to Branched Sulfones

The Bi(OTf)₃-promoted hydrosulfonylation of alkenes with sulfonyl hydrazides to produce branched sulfones is reported, in which various branched sulfones (>40 examples) have been prepared in moderate to good yields. The gram-scale reaction and synthesis of the experimental inhibitor precursor showed the potential application. A preliminary mechanistic study revealed that double-bond migration to form the α,β-conjugated alkene is crucial for this transformation.

Nickel-Catalyzed Chemo- and Regioselective Arylcyanation of β,γ-Unsaturated Amides

A nickel-catalyzed intermolecular arylcyanation of 8-aminoquinolinyl β,γ-unsaturated amides is reported. The three-component reaction directly afforded diverse β-cyano γ-aryl amides with exclusive chemo- and regioselectivity. The synthetic practicality of this approach is further demonstrated through multigram scale reaction, expanded transformations of the nitrile product, late-stage modification of complex molecules, and direct drug synthesis.

Tandem trifluoromethylthiolation and cyclization of N-aryl-3-butenamides with AgSCF3: divergent access to CF3S-substituted 3,4-dihydroquinolin-2-ones and azaspiro[4,5]dienones

A AgSCF3-mediated tandem trifluoromethylthiolaton and cyclization of N-aryl-3-butenamides was developed. It showed divergent reactivities and enabled the selective syntheses of CF3S-substituted 3,4-dihydroquinolin-2-ones and azaspiro[4,5]dienones. The selectivity was achieved through different...
