Abstract
Herein, we present a CuI-dimer, [CuI{Ph2PC6H4C(O)NC6H4PPh2-o}]2, which catalyzed direct C(sp3)-H homocoupling of benzyl and cycloalkane derivatives with excellent yields and regio-selectivity. The method is very simple and tolerates various functionalities. Synergistic metal-ligand cooperativity was observed in Cu-N bond cleavage and protonation of nitrogen, and facilitates a bifunctional pathway, minimising the free energy corrugation for catalytic intermediates.

Abstract
Room-temperature photoactivation of the first- and second-generation PN3P-pincer nickel azido complexes 1a and 1b in the presence of CO2 or CS2 afforded N-bound carbamates, dithiocarbamates, and isothiocyanates, providing insights into CO2 and CS2 activation and demonstrating how a seemingly small difference in the ligand structure significantly influences the reactivity. Theoretical calculations disclosed that the charge of the phosphorus atom plays a critical role in determining the nitrogen atom transfer to form a plausible nickel phosphiniminato intermediate.

Abstract
A catalytic system for intermolecular benzylic C(sp3)-H amination is developed utilizing 1,2,3,4-tetrazole as a nitrene precursor via iron catalysis. This method enables direct installation of 2-aminopyridine into the benzylic and heterobenzylic position. The method selectively aminates 2° benzylic C(sp3)-H bond over the 3° and 1° benzylic C(sp3)-H bonds. Experimental studies reveal that the C(sp3)-H amination undergoes via the formation of a benzylic radical intermediate. This study reports the discovery of new method for 2-pyridine substituted benzylamine synthesis using inexpensive, biocompatible base metal catalysis that should have wide application in the context of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery.
