Abstract
Herein, we report a novel palladium-catalyzed synthesis of diverse dihydroindeno[2,1-a]indenes by the reaction of o-iodostyrenes with cyclopropenones. This protocol involves a [3+2] cyclization/C-H activation sequence, forming a C(sp2)-C(sp2) and two C(sp2)-C(sp3) bonds. This procedure represents an innovative method for the assembly of tetracyclic dihydroindeno-indenes utilizing cyclopropenones as a new C2 synthon.

Abstract
The reaction between cyclopropenones and water catalyzed by different phosphines has been thoroughly investigated. Under the catalysis of trimethylphosphine, highly functionalized γ-butenolides were successfully synthesized from the simple starting material, cyclopropenones, and water in 35%-81% yields with excellent diastereoselectivities. Under the catalysis of triphenylphosphine, cyclopropenones were transferred to trisubstituted α,β-unsaturated acids with sufficient water in 78%-99% yields, while α,β-unsaturated acid anhydrides were obtained with trace water.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of cyclopropenones with N-allenamides has been developed. This methodology facilitates the synthesis of γ-amino-α'-methylenecyclopentenones in moderate to excellent yields with good regioselectivity and compatibility with various functional groups. The employment of N-allenamides as versatile 2C synthons enables simultaneous incorporation of both a nitrogen atom and a methylene group into cyclopentenones. Furthermore, this approach exhibits reverse regioselectivity when compared to general allenes. Density functional theory calculations successfully elucidated the origin of the observed regioselectivity.

Abstract
A practical, effective, and regioselective palladium-catalyzed ring opening/[4+2] annulation of enaminones with cyclopropenones for the controllable synthesis of highly substituted γ-butenolides and γ-lactams has been described. This method for the first time reports the regio-selective annulation reaction on the carbon and amine groups of the enaminone structure. This reaction is characterized by its wide substrate scope, good functional group compatibility, moderate to good yields, scale-up synthesis, and versatile transformations, providing a versatile and general protocol to construct γ-butenolides and γ-lactams.

Abstract
Reported herein is a new photocatalytic annulation for the synthesis of 2,3,4,6-tetrasubstituted pyridines with enaminones and N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl ethylenediamine (TMEDA). The photocatalytic reactions take place without requiring a transition metal reagent and provide products with broad scope. The methyl in TMEDA acts as the carbon source in pyridine ring construction, and BrCF2CO2Et plays the role of the terminal oxidant for free radical quenching.
