Worldwide, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) account for the vast majority of deaths and place enormous financial strains on healthcare systems. Gold nanoparticles, quantum dots, polymeric nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, and lipids are innovative nanomaterials promising in tackling CVDs. In the setting of CVDs, these nanomaterials actively impact cellular responses due to their distinctive properties, including surface energy and topographies. Opportunities to more precisely target CVDs have arisen due to recent developments in nanomaterial science, which have introduced fresh approaches. An in-depth familiarity with the illness and its targeted mechanisms is necessary to use nanomaterials in CVDs effectively. We support the academic community's efforts to prioritize Nano-technological techniques in addressing risk factors linked with cardiovascular diseases, acknowledging the far-reaching effects of these conditions. The significant impact of nanotechnology on the early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases highlights the critical need for novel approaches to this pressing health problem, which is affecting people worldwide.

Ionic liquid immobilized on modified magnetic FSM-16: an efficient and magnetically recoverable nanocatalyst

In the present article, a nanocomposite was prepared by immobilizing ionic liquid on the magnetic mesoporous FSM-16 with a core-shell structure (Fe3O4@FSM-16-SO3/IL). Subsequently, the structural properties of the synthesized nanocatalyst were characterized and analyzed by various techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, TEM, FE-SEM, BET, VSM, TGA, and EDS. Fe3O4@FSM-16-SO3/IL was used as a recoverable and efficient nanocatalyst for the synthesis of polyhydroquinoline derivatives. The magnetic nanocatalyst showed remarkable stability and reusability and was reused six consecutive times without considerable loss of its activity.

Hantzsch reaction using copper nitrate hydroxide-containing mesoporous silica nanoparticle with C3N4 framework as a novel powerful and reusable catalyst

Copper nitrate hydroxide (CNH)-containing mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN) with g-C₃N₄ framework (MSN/C₃N₄/CNH) was fabricated via a four-step hydrothermal synthesis method. Functionalized MSN-based C₃N₄ was prepared, decorated with CNH, and identified by different physicochemical techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDX, and STA analyses. Then, MSN/C₃N₄/CNH composite was utilized as a robust catalyst for the fast fabrication of biologically active polyhydroquinoline derivatives with high yields between 88 and 97% via Hantzsch reaction under mild reaction conditions and short reaction time (within 15 min) owing to synergistic influence of Lewis acid and base sites. Moreover, MSN/C₃N₄/CNH can be straightforwardly recovered and used up to six reaction cycles without a conspicuous decrease in efficiency.

Highly efficient and recyclable novel spindles Fe2O3@SiO2/In2O3 nanomagnetic catalyst designed for green synthesis of azomethine compounds

A novel and reusable nanomagnetic catalyst, Fe2O3@SiO2/In2O3, was synthesized by a facile chemical approach in three successive steps. The nanocatalyst was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDX, TEM, and VSM. The XRD pattern displays the characteristic peaks of Fe2O3 and SiO2, accompanied by new peaks assigned to different planes of In2O3 that confirm the formation of In2O3 on the surface of Fe2O3@SiO2 core/shell spindles. The TEM micrographs show spindle-like particles of Fe2O3 covered with SiO2 shell, and the In2O3 nanoparticles in an average diameter of 20 nm are hung on the surface of the Fe2O3@SiO2. The nanomagnetic catalyst Fe2O3@SiO2/In2O3 was used for the transformation of the (4-nitrophenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-amine, and chalcones derivatives, into valuable azomethine compounds of 3-(substituted)-1-(pyridine-2-yl)allylidene)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-amine with high rate and efficient catalyst recovery. The yield obtained through the catalytic route reached 90–95% in shorter reaction times compared with uncatalyzed reaction method.

NiFe2O4@B,N,F-tridoped CeO2 (NFTDNC): a mesoporous nanocatalyst in the synthesis of pyrazolopyranopyrimidine and 1H-pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine-5,10-dione derivatives and as an adsorbent

Mesoporous materials, due to their unique textural and structural features and successful applications in different scientific areas, engrossed our curiosity to form a mesoporous nanostructure. A facile method for the formation of nickel ferrite immobilized over B,N,F tridoped mesoporous cerium oxide (CeO₂) nanostructures (NFTDNC) was designed and communicated in this report. It was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), powder X-ray diffraction study (PXRD), scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), field emission gun-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), photoluminescence (PL), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and elemental mapping, UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-VIS) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The applications of the mesoporous nanomaterial (NFTDNC) as an adaptable heterogeneous nanocatalyst and as a phenomenal adsorbent for methyl orange (MO) dye were established. It catalyzed the formation of pyrazolopyranopyrimidine and 1H-pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine-5,10-diones derivatives for the five runs. The recycled catalyst exhibited agglomeration in structural features confirmed by PXRD and HR-TEM studies. NFTDNC as an adsorbent fitted the Freundlich isotherm for the adsorption of MO dye. Moreover, it followed the linear pseudo-second-order kinetics rate equation (R² ≥ 0.98914). MO was adsorbed completely in 60 min with the NFTDNC mesoporous nanostructure.

Design and preparation of nanoarchitectonics of LDH/polymer composite with particular morphology as catalyst for green synthesis of imidazole derivatives

This paper was designed and prepared a new nanoarchitectonics of LDH/polymer composite with specific morphology. For this purpose, CTAB surfactant was used to control the morphology of layered double hydroxide (LDH) and to prepare LDH/polymer nanocomposites (LDH-APS-PEI-DTPA). The polymer was synthesized using diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), polyethylenimine and used with LDH to form a nanocomposite with high thermal stability. Subsequently, the prepared nanocomposite was identified using FTIR, EDX, TGA, XRD, FESEM, and BET techniques. In addition, the prepared LDH-APS-PEI-DTPA nanocomposite was used as a heterogeneous and recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of imidazole derivatives under green conditions. The results showed that the LDH-APS-PEI-DTPA nanocomposite benefit from suitable morphology, simple preparation, high catalytic activity, and high surface area. Also, the proposed LDH-APS-PEI-DTPA heterogeneous catalyst showed high stability and reusability for five consecutive runs which was consistent with the principles of green chemistry.

Naproxen release from carbon dot coated magnetite nanohybrid as versatile theranostics for HeLa cancer cells

Nanohybrid magnetite carbon dots (Fe₃O₄@CDs) were successfully synthesized to improve their applicability in multi-response bioimaging. The nanohybrid was prepared via pyrolysis and further loaded with naproxen (NAP) to promote drug delivery features. The characterization of the synthesized Fe₃O₄@CDs demonstrated the existence of Fe₃O₄ crystals by matching with JCPDS 75-0033 and its narrow size distribution at 11.30 nm; further, FTIR spectra confirmed the presence of Fe–O groups, C–O stretching, C–H sp², and C–O bending, along with dual-active fluorescence and magnetic responses. The nanohybrids also exhibit particular properties such as a maximum wavelength of 230.5 nm, maximum emission in the 320–420 nm range, and slight superparamagnetic reduction (Fe₃O₄: 0.93620 emu per g; Fe₃O₄@CDs: 0.64784 emu per g). The cytotoxicity assessment of the nanohybrid revealed an excellent half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC₅₀) of 17 671.5 ± 1742.6 μg mL⁻¹. Then, the incorporation of NAP decreased the cell viability to below 10%. The kinetic release properties of NAP are also confirmed as pH-dependent, and they follow the Korsmeyer–Peppas kinetics model. These results indicated that the proposed Fe₃O₄@CDs can be used as a new model for theranostic treatment.

Copper(II) Anchored on Amine-Functionalized MMT: A Highly Efficient Catalytic System for the One-Pot Synthesis of Bispyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole Derivatives

In this study, preparation of pyridine-2-carboimine copper complex immobilized on amine-functionalized nanoclay montmorillonite K10 was reported. The products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The catalytic activity of this new nanocatalyst, as a natural, renewable, inexpensive, and heterogeneous catalyst, was very effective for the four-component condensation reaction of hydrazine hydrate (or phenyl hydrazine), malononitrile, β-ketoester, and terephthalaldehyde (or isophthalaldehyde) toward the synthesis of multisubstituted bispyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives. From the viewpoint of green chemistry, the advantages of this approach are accessibility, simplicity, and high yields synthesis. The catalyst was recycled and reused four times without significant loss of activity.

Nanodiagnosis and Nanotreatment of Cardiovascular Diseases: An Overview

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the world’s leading cause of mortality and represent a large contributor to the costs of medical care. Although tremendous progress has been made for the diagnosis of CVDs, there is an important need for more effective early diagnosis and the design of novel diagnostic methods. The diagnosis of CVDs generally relies on signs and symptoms depending on molecular imaging (MI) or on CVD-associated biomarkers. For early-stage CVDs, however, the reliability, specificity, and accuracy of the analysis is still problematic. Because of their unique chemical and physical properties, nanomaterial systems have been recognized as potential candidates to enhance the functional use of diagnostic instruments. Nanomaterials such as gold nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, quantum dots, lipids, and polymeric nanoparticles represent novel sources to target CVDs. The special properties of nanomaterials including surface energy and topographies actively enhance the cellular response within CVDs. The availability of newly advanced techniques in nanomaterial science opens new avenues for the targeting of CVDs. The successful application of nanomaterials for CVDs needs a detailed understanding of both the disease and targeting moieties.

Ecofriendly synthesis of pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives and related heterocycles with anti-inflammatory activities

A versatile, efficient, clean, and facile method was used for the synthesis of pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives by the one-pot three-component condensation reaction of thiobarbituric acid and malononitrile with p-chlorobenzaldehyde, using Fe₃ O₄ or ZnO or Mn₃ O₄ as nanostructure catalysts. The catalyst could be easily recovered using an external magnet and reused for six cycles with almost a consistent activity. A series of polyheterocyclic compounds containing five and/or six rings fused with each other was designed. The anti-inflammatory activities for some of the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated. All the synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses and spectral data.
