Synthesis and Investigation of Mass Spectra of 3-[5′-(2′-Substituent)thienyl]benzo[5,6]coumarins

Thermal [4 + 2] cycloadditions of 3-acetyl-, 3-carbamoyl-, and 3-ethoxycarbonyl-coumarins with 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene under solventless conditions: a structural study

The thermal [4+2] cycloadditions of 3-acetyl-, 3-carbamoyl, and 3-ethoxycarbonylcoumarins with 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene under solvent free conditions are reported, as well as the epoxidation reactions of some adducts. Discussion is focused on the structural features of the Diels-Alder adducts and their epoxides, based upon NMR, X-ray, and mass spectral data, and supported by ab initio theoretical calculations.

Synthesis and pharmacological activities of some condensed 4-chloro-2,2-dialkyl chromene-3-carbaldehyde derivatives

Some new hydrazono 5a,b, thiosemicarbazono 6a-c, and oximo chromenes 7a-c were prepared via the reaction of the corresponding beta-chlorocarbaldehyde 3 with hydrazine, aromatic hydrazine, thiosemicarbazide and hydroxylamine hydrochloride, respectively. In addition, ether derivatives 8a-h were prepared from the corresponding aldoximes 7a-c. The new products were tested for anti-inflammatory and ulcerogenic score activities compared to indomethacin.

Synthesis, X-ray Structure, and Pharmacological Activity of Some 6,6-Disubstituted Chromeno[4,3-b]- and Chromeno- [3,4-c]-quinolines

Some chromeno[4,3-b]quinolines 4a-i were obtained from beta-chloro carboxyaldehydes 3a-c with different aniline derivatives namely, aniline, 4-fluoroaniline, and 2-aminophenol. Surprisingly, 3a-c reacted with 2-aminothiophenol and afforded the chromeno[3,4-c]quinoline derivatives 5a-c. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies of 4e and 5b provided good support for the established structure. Compounds 4b and 5b showed significant anti-inflammatory and ulcerogenic score activities compared to that of indomethacin.

4-Chloro-2,2-disubstituted Chromen-3-carboxaldehyde: Synthesis of some Fused Polycyclic Heterocycles as Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic, Anticonvulsant, and Antiparkinsonian Agents

Some new aldazino 4, pyrazolo 5, thieno 8, and thiooxopyrimidino chromenes 10 were prepared via reaction of the corresponding beta-chlorocarboxaldehyde 3 with hydrazine hydrate, mercaptoacetic acid, and thiourea, respectively. Wherever, 4-chlorochromene derivatives 2 along with 4-chlorochromen-3-carboxaldehyde derivatives 3 were prepared from the corresponding ketone 1 with Vilsmeier-Haack reagent. Some of the new products showed good anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anticonvulsant, and antiparkinsonian activities comparable to indomethacin, diclofenace, carbamazepine, and benztropine.
