Abstract
Late-onset conditions have been reported in young adult Hodgkin lymphoma (YAHL) survivors but the use of convenience controls may bias estimates. Thirty-five YAHL survivors and their unaffected co-twins completed an online questionnaire on such conditions. McNemar's test and conditional logistic and random-effects linear regression were used to assess differences. On average, YAHL survivors (54.3% monozygotic, 57.1% female) were 27.1 years at diagnosis and 29.7 years post-diagnosis at participation. Survivors had increased risk of secondary malignancy (OR = 4.33), cardiac (12 cases/0 co-twins), lung (6 cases/0 co-twins), and thyroid conditions (18 cases/0 co-twins), and increased utilization of cardiac (OR = 9.00) and thyroid tests (OR = 10.00) compared to their co-twin. Non-significant trends in life milestone achievement, including greater college degree attainment, earlier retirement, and fewer biological children, were also observed in YAHL survivors. Life satisfaction was significantly lower among YAHL survivors (p = .035). Decades after diagnosis, differences in late outcomes were observed in YAHL survivors compared to co-twin controls, providing a more accurate assessment of the late effects of YAHL.

Abstract
PURPOSE We studied work-related issues in long-term survivors of Hodgkin lymphoma [HLSs] who had undergone treatment according to contemporary stage risk-adapted approaches. At survey, work changes and problems since diagnosis, comparisons of HLSs with low/moderate versus high work ability, associations between work issues, and late adverse effects [LAEs] were examined. METHODS This cross-sectional questionnaire-based study included HLSs treated from 1997 to 2006 and alive at the end of 2016. They completed a mailed questionnaire including work and health-related issues. RESULTS Among 518 invited HLSs, 297 (58%) completed the work-related issues, and 48% of them were females. Mean age at survey was 45.9 years, and mean time was 16.7 years since diagnosis. At follow-up, 71% of the HLSs held paid work and 19% were on disability pension. Only 3% of HLSs did not hold paid work at any time after diagnosis. In total, 43% HLSs had low/moderate and 57% high work ability at follow-up. Low/moderate work ability was significantly associated with older age, female sex, more LAEs, disability pension, lower household income, distressed personality, obesity, fatigue, and mental disorders. More LAEs were significantly associated with more work problems. CONCLUSIONS Many HLSs manage to stay in the work force. Several health problems and LAEs amenable for interventions are significantly associated with low/moderate work ability and emphasize the importance of focus on these issues in long-term follow-up. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS HLSs in paid work at diagnosis can be optimistic as to their future participation in work life. Screening and treatment for health problems such as LAEs may improve work ability.

Abstract
Validation of biobanks and large cancer cohorts is essential in ensuring high-quality research results. We examined the coverage, generalisability and validity of the lymphoma collection of the Uppsala-Umeå Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (U-CAN) biobank in Sweden, one of the largest cancer biobanks in Europe. Up until 2022, 889 lymphoma patients in U-CAN Uppsala had available samples, and 329 in U-CAN Umeå. Patients diagnosed in the U-CAN Uppsala area 2011-2021 (n = 843) were linked to the nationwide Swedish Lymphoma Register, and a subset diagnosed before 2019 (n = 727) to population-based registers. The coverage was 39% of all lymphoma patients between 2011 and 2019 diagnosed in the U-CAN Uppsala area, with a pandemic decline to 10% during 2020-2021. The patients included had superior overall survival (hazard ratio = 0.70 [95% confidence interval, CI: 0.60-0.82]) than all lymphoma patients in Sweden. They had better performance status, were younger (odds ratio [OR] = 0.21 [95% CI: 0.13-0.34]) and had less comorbidities (OR = 0.66 [95% CI: 0.56-0.78]). However, cause-specific survival and stage distribution were similar. The questionnaire data captured less comorbidities compared to the national registers. Evaluations of biobanks are important, as even population-based biobanks such as U-CAN select younger patients with higher socioeconomical status and better performance status. However, the similar cause-specific survival as in the registries suggests U-CANs usefulness for prognostic biomarker studies.

Abstract
PURPOSE Little is known about the employment situation of long-term Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) survivors despite their young age at diagnosis and the favorable prognosis of the disease. In this cross-sectional study, we aim to describe the employment situation in a cohort of long-term HL survivors compared to the general population and investigate the associations with disease characteristics and treatment exposure. METHODS HL survivors > 25 years (n = 1961) were matched 1:25 to controls (n = 49,025) from the European Union Labour Force Survey. Individual treatment information was obtained from trial records. Employment and socio-demographic characteristics were collected using the Life Situation Questionnaire. Logistic regression models were used to estimate associations between disease and treatment characteristics with employment status and work-related attitudes. RESULTS At employment assessment, 69.7% of survivors (95% CI: 67.6-71.7%) were working; of these, 68.9% (95% CI: 66.3-71.3%) worked full-time, a figure comparable to that of controls (p value 0.17). The risk of not working was associated with increasing age at diagnosis, increasing age at survey, female sex, lower educational level, and relapse history. Of those who were at work during treatment, 16.8% (95% CI: 14.5-19.3%) stated their income had subsequently decreased, which was attributed to their HL by 65.4% (95% CI: 57.5-72.8). Among those not at work, 25.1% (95% CI: 20.7-29.8) survivors were disabled compared to only 14.5% (95% CI: 13.8-15.3%) of controls. CONCLUSIONS In this cohort of HL survivors, employment status was comparable to that of the general population. However, increasing age at follow-up, female sex, lower educational level, and relapse history are risk factors for unemployment, a perceived decrease in income, and disability. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS To further improve follow-up care, special attention should be paid to these vulnerable subgroups.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Disease-specific studies on the impact of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) on education or work interruption and resumption are lacking. MATERIAL AND METHODS In a cross-sectional study conducted among long-term HL survivors enrolled from 1964 to 2004 in nine randomised EORTC-LYSA trials, the interruption and resumption of education/work was investigated. Survivors alive 5-44 years after diagnosis who were studying or working at time of diagnosis were included (n = 1646). Patient and treatment characteristics were obtained from trial records. Education and work outcomes were collected using the Life Situation Questionnaire. Logistic regression was used to model education or work interruption; Cox regression was used to study resumption rates. RESULTS Among survivors studying at time of diagnosis (n = 323), 52% (95% CI: 46-57%) interrupted their education; however, it was resumed within 24 months by 92% (95% CI: 87-96%). The probability of interruption decreased with time: the more recent the treatment era, the lower the risk (OR 0.70 per 10 years, 95% CI: 0.49-1.01). Treatment with radiotherapy (yes vs. no) was associated with a higher education resumption rate (HR 2.01, 95% CI 1.07-3.78) whereas age, sex, stage, radiotherapy field and chemotherapy were not.Among survivors working at time of diagnosis (n = 1323), 77% (95% CI: 75-79%) interrupted their work. However, it was resumed within 24 months by 86% (95% CI: 84%-88%). Women were more likely to interrupt their work as compared to men (OR 1.90, 95% CI: 1.44-2.51) and, when interrupted, less likely to resume work (HR 0.70, 95% CI: 0.61-0.80). Survivors with a higher educational level were less likely to interrupt their work (OR 0.68 for university vs. no high school, 95% CI: 0.46-1.03); and when interrupted, more likely to resume work (HR 1.50 for university vs. no high school, 95% CI: 1.21-1.86). Increasing age was also associated with lower resumption rates (HR 0.62 for age ≥50 vs. 18-29 years, 95% CI: 0.41-0.94). CONCLUSION An interruption in education/work was common among long-term HL survivors. However, most of the survivors who interrupted their studies or work had resumed their activities within 24 months. In this study, no associations between survivors' characteristics and failure to resume education were observed. Female sex, age ≥50 years, and a lower level of education were found to be associated with not resuming work after treatment for HL.

Abstract
PURPOSE To identify, evaluate and summarize the evidence on educational attainment, employment status and income of AYAs surviving cancer. METHODS A search of six databases for articles published between 01/01/2010 and 03/31/2022 was performed. Articles with an AYA survivorship population, quantitative design and a cancer-free comparator group were included. Data extraction was conducted, and quality appraisal was completed using ROBINS-I. Results were summarized using a narrative synthesis. RESULTS A total of 2801 articles were identified, of which 12 were included. Among the limited evidence, educational attainment did not differ from cancer-free peers. Survivors were more likely to be unemployed, have lower incomes and require social security for income supplementation. Evidence suggested that females, diagnosis of brain cancer and the presence of late-effects were among the risk factors for severe outcomes. CONCLUSIONS Limited socioeconomic evidence exists for AYAs surviving cancer. Long-lasting financial toxicities occur and highlights a need for further investigation.

Abstract
The purpose of our study is to examine whether cancer and treatments are associated with job loss or changes in employment status. Eight prospective studies were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis, with a population aged 18-65 years, analyzing treatment regimen and psychophysical and social status in post-cancer follow-up of at least 2 years. In the meta-analysis, a comparison was made between recovered unemployed cases and cases from a standard reference population. Results are summarized graphically using a forest plot. We showed that cancer and subsequent treatment are risk factors for unemployment with an overall relative risk of 7.24 (lnRR: 1.98, 95% CI: 1.32-2.63) or for change in employment status. Individuals undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment and those with brain and colorectal cancers are more likely to develop disabilities that negatively affect the risk of unemployment. Finally, variables such as low level education, female sex, older age, and being overweight before starting therapy are associated with higher risk of unemployment. In the future, it will be necessary for people with cancer to have access to specific health, social welfare, and employment support programs. In addition, it is desirable that they become more involved in their choice of therapeutic treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic fatigue (CF), substantial fatigue for ≥ six months, can manifest as a late effect (LE) after cancer treatment, and may affect several aspects of life. In a Norwegian cohort of Hodgkin's lymphoma survivors (HLS), more than a decade after contemporary risk-adapted treatment regimens with limited use of radiotherapy (RT), we assessed: (1) Prevalence of, (2) factors associated with (3) and implications of CF on socioeconomic status (SES) and work ability (WA). MATERIAL AND METHODS HLS treated between 1997-2006, aged 8-49 years at diagnosis, were invited to participate in a population-based cross-sectional study on late effects in 2018-2019. In a mailed questionnaire, HLS responded to a fatigue questionnaire (FQ), work ability score (WAS) and short-form health survey (SF-36). Disease- and treatment data were extracted from hospital records. Factors associated with CF were identified by uni- and multivariate analysis. To study the implications of CF on SES and WA, a multinomial regression analysis was performed. RESULTS Invitations were extended to 518 HLS and 298 (58%) responded to FQ, of whom 42% had CF with mean (standard deviation [SD]) physical- and mental fatigue scores of 10.2 (4.3) and 5.5 (2.1) respectively. Median age at survey was 45 years, 47% were females. In multivariate analysis female sex (p = 0.03), lower education (p = 0.03), body mass index ≥30 kg/m2 (p = 0.04), and an increasing number of comorbidities (p = 0.01) were associated with CF. No association with disease stage, chemotherapy or RT was found. CF was associated with poorer WAS scores at survey (p < 0.001), unemployment (p = 0.03), and receiving disability pension (p = 0.003). CONCLUSION After risk-adapted treatment, CF is still a frequent LE among long-term HLS, without apparent association with disease or treatment-related parameters. CF is associated with reduced WA and SES. As no apparent risk reduction is seen with contemporary treatment, further studies should emphasize etiological factors of CF and treatment to alleviate this common LE.

Abstract
Hodgkin lymphoma is among the most curable cancers. For patients in remission for 24 months, residual lifetime becomes close to that of the background population. However, late relapses can occur after several years and, as shown by Andersen et al., the outcomes are not always good. Abstract
Background: China is facing an aggravating disease burden of lymphoma. However, accurate information about lymphoma burden at the national and provincial levels is limited. Results: The estimated number of disability-adjusted life years were 86,171.85 for Hodgkin lymphoma and 1,306,247.77 for non-Hodgkin lymphoma with the age-standardized rates of 4.95 and 71.00, respectively, per 100,000 population. There were estimated 9,468 new cases and 2,709 Hodgkin lymphoma-related deaths, and 91,954 new cases and 44,310 non-Hodgkin lymphoma-related deaths. Older individuals had a higher lymphoma burden. The age-standardized disability-adjusted life year rate in men was approximately two-folds higher than that in women. Moreover, disparities in lymphoma burden were observed across the provinces. Between 1990 and 2019, the disability-adjusted life year number decreased by 57.8% for Hodgkin lymphoma, and increased by 100.9% for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Conclusion: Burden of lymphoma showed heterogeneous change patterns varied according to sex, age, and provinces, with a steady decrease in Hodgkin lymphoma and a significant increase in non-Hodgkin lymphoma during the past three decades. Methods: Following the analytical strategy used in the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2019, age-, sex-, and province-specific incidence, mortality, and prevalence of Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma were analyzed. Lymphoma burden was assessed by incidence, mortality, prevalence, and disability-adjusted life year.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the difference between lymphoma survivors' self- and proxy-reported health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and its association with socioeconomic and health statuses. Methods: The data used in this study were obtained from a nationwide cross-sectional online survey in 2019. Information about participants' demographics, health status and HRQoL were collected. The propensity-score matching (PSM) method was used to control the effect of potential confounders on selection bias. A chi-squared test, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression models were used to assess the relationship between HRQoL and response type adjusted to respondents' background characteristics. Results: Out of the total 4400 participants, data of 2350 ones were elicited for analysis after PSM process. Patients' self-reported outcomes indicated a slightly better physical, role and emotional functioning than proxy-reported outcomes. Regression analysis showed that patients, who were older, unemployed, and who received surgery, were more likely to report a lower HRQoL. Further analysis demonstrated that proxy-reported patients who had completed treatment were more likely to report a higher HRQoL than those who were being treated. Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that the agreement between self- and proxy-reported HRQoL is low in patients with lymphoma and the heterogeneities of HRQoL among patients with different types of aggressive NHL (Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) is large. Differences in self- and proxy-reported HRQoL should be considered by oncologists when selecting and deciding the optimal care plan for lymphoma survivors.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify the factors associated with the survival of malignant Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas in oral and nasal cavities.Study design. Retrospective cohort survival analysis. METHODS The Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results 18 database was used to analyse the factors associated with the 5-year survival rate of malignant lymphomas diagnosed in the oral cavity and pharynx (OCP) and nasal cavity and sinus (NCS) regions from 1988 to 2011 for all patients in the USA. Multivariable Cox regression models were used to calculate the HR of malignant lymphoma death overall and by the site of cancer diagnosis. RESULTS Among the 8785 patients included in the analysis, 4103 (46.7%) were women, 6096 (69.4%) were non-Hispanic (NH) white, 635 (7.2%) were NH black and 1209 (13.8%) were Hispanic patients of all races. We found that a higher 5-year survival rate of malignant lymphoma is associated with: female gender; younger age at diagnosis; NH white race/ethnicity; diagnosis in the oral cavity; receiving surgery/radiation and surgery/radiation, surgery and chemotherapy as the treatment; diagnosis at a localised stage and diagnosis in later calendar years. No association with lymphoma subtype was observed. CONCLUSION We have identified several demographics and prognosis factors associated with the 5-year survival rate of malignant lymphomas in the OCP and NCS regions. These findings warrant greater public health attention on the prognosis of malignant lymphomas in the OCP and NCS regions among the most vulnerable populations.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION While the socioeconomic impact of a cancer diagnosis on cancer survivors has gained some attention in the literature, to our knowledge, a review of the evidence on changes in income due to cancer has yet to be undertaken. In this paper, we describe a scoping review protocol to review the evidence on the effect of a cancer diagnosis on the income of individuals diagnosed with cancer during adulthood (≥18 years). The purpose is to summarise existing evidence, identify gaps in current research and highlight priority areas for future research. METHODS AND ANALYSIS This study will follow the methodological framework for conducting scoping reviews by the Joanna Briggs Institute In collaboration with a health science librarian, we developed a search strategy to be performed in Ovid MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, EMBASE, Econ-Literature and Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews. This scoping review will search the scientific literature published in English from 1 January 2000 to 31 December 2020. Studies that measured the impact of cancer on income of adults will be eligible for inclusion. Studies exclusively focused on employment outcomes (eg, return to work, unemployment, productivity loss), financial expenditures, childhood cancer survivors and/or the caregivers of cancer survivors will be excluded. Three independent reviewers will conduct screening and extract data. Descriptive information will be reported following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) extension for Scoping Reviews. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION This scoping review will analyse data from publicly available materials and thus does not require ethics approval. Results from this review will be disseminated through a peer-reviewed publication and/or conference presentation with the potential to identify gaps in the literature, suggest strategies for standardised terminology and provide directions for future research.
