How does intelligent manufacturing affects enterprise innovation? The mediating role of organisational learning

Intelligent manufacturing policy, ESG performance, and total factor productivity: Evidence from China

Under the global wave of intelligence, intelligent manufacturing has become a crucial means of transforming and upgrading China's manufacturing industry. Accurate evaluation of the implementation effects of intelligent manufacturing industry policies is an urgent issue. This study uses the introduction of the "Made in China 2025" policy as a quasi-natural experiment and employs the difference-in-differences method to investigate the impact of intelligent manufacturing policies on firms' total factor productivity (TFP) and its mechanisms. These results indicate that implementing intelligent manufacturing policies significantly enhances firms' TFP. Mechanism analysis reveals that intelligent manufacturing policies can improve firms' ESG performance by enhancing green technology innovation capabilities, increasing capital market attention, and reducing internal control costs, thereby enhancing firms' TFP. Heterogeneity analysis finds that intelligent manufacturing policies have a more pronounced effect on promoting TFP in large-scale enterprises, labor-intensive enterprises, firms with higher technical employee levels, companies in highly competitive industries, and enterprises in regions with higher levels of digital infrastructure development and lower economic development as compared to their counterparts. This study provides evidence of how intelligent manufacturing policies drive the high-quality and sustainable development of enterprises and offers insights for future policy formulation and implementation.

Standardization of Environmental Responsibility Behavior of Production and Manufacturing Enterprises in the Context of Green Economy

The motivation and decision-making of an enterprise are significantly affected by the green economy and the environmental and economic policies (EEPs). It is practical to deeply analyze the standardization mechanism and actual effect of environmental responsibility behavior (ERB) in enterprises. This study explores the ERB standardization in the context of green economy. First, a conceptual model was established for the action mechanism of the factors driving ERB standardization in enterprises, and an empirical model was developed around the concept of policy-behavior-performance, before investigating the influence of the ERB of production and manufacturing enterprises (PMEs) over their production benefit (PB). From the angle of motivation-supervision theory, the authors examined how the supervision and motivation of EEPs affect the large panel PMEs' sense of social responsibility (SSR) and ERB. Finally, the variables like marketization index (MI) and return on assets (ROA) were regressed, and the ERB standard level of PMEs in different industries was analyzed statistically. The results demonstrate the robustness of our empirical model. Finally, opinions and suggestions were provided to guide or constrain environmental and economic policies.

The influence of organizational learning and external cooperation configuration on enterprise technological innovation: A study based on fsQCA approach

This study explores the influence of organizational learning and external cooperation configuration on enterprise technological innovation and constructs a comprehensive theoretical framework of "organizational learning-external cooperation-technological innovation" based on the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method. The results show the following. (1) A single episode of organizational learning or external cooperation cannot affect the enterprise’s technological innovation, which requires the mutual linkage of the two to improve enterprise technological innovation performance. (2) The technological innovation model in which organizational learning and external cooperation interact is an effective way for enterprises to improve technological innovation performance. There are four technological innovation models that produce high technological innovation performance, namely consciousness-system synergy, consciousness-led, quasi-full, and all-around drive. (3) There are four models of non-high-tech innovation performance, which are not opposed to the technological innovation model of high-tech innovation performance. This research expands the technological innovation perspective of organizational learning and external cooperation matching, provides enterprises with effective technological innovation activities, and provides a theoretical reference and practical guidance for improving technological innovation performance.
