Abstract
Mergers, consolidations, and amalgamations are common in today's health care environment. Such changes and transitions affect everyone and threaten organizational cultures and beliefs. To help you thrive, this article differentiates change from transition, reviews the phases of planned change, and explains the emotional components of the transition stages. Equally important, this article offers strategies, tips, and interventions for both staff member nurses and managers to facilitate the transition process and help themselves emerge victorious.
