Abstract
Abstract This study examined the mediation and moderation models of the relationship between Islamic work ethics (IWE), thriving at work, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), and leader humility. A total of 418 employees from two different sample groups (Islamic banks and educational institutions) in Indonesia were included. A multiple regression hierarchy with PROCESS was used to test the hypotheses. We found a positive influence of IWE and leader humility on thriving and OCB and thriving at work on OCB. Thriving was found to mediate the relationship between IWE and OCB, and the leader humility moderates these relationships. Thriving at work and OCB are dramatically under-represented in Islamic work ethics research, and this study attempts to fill this void. Furthermore, this study reveals the interactive role of leader humility and IWE in enhancing OCB preference and the mediating role of thriving at work in the IWE − OCB relationship.

Vashisht S, Vashisht R. The impact of doctors’ career calling on organizational citizenship behavior mediated by work–life balance and job satisfaction. JOURNAL OF GENERAL MANAGEMENT 2022. Abstract
The present study explored the relationship between doctors’ career calling and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). A model proposing that the effect of career calling on OCB mediated by work–life balance (WLB) and job satisfaction was assessed. Data were collected from 670 doctors working in hospitals across Northern India out of which 325 questionnaires were considered for analysis purpose. The results demonstrated that career calling has a significant effect on OCB and WLB and job satisfaction mediates the career calling-OCB relationship. The results of the study suggest that WLB and job satisfaction may signify a critical link between career calling and OCB. Implications surrounding this study and theoretical and practical implications for research and practice are explored.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to examine how the quality of work-life (QWL) factors influence job satisfaction and tests if organization type moderates this relationship.
Design/methodology/approach
The study adopts a quantitative cross-sectional research design using survey administration among resident doctors used in the Indian health-care sector. Drawing on the person-environment fit theory, leader-member exchange theory and action learning theory, the authors discuss the results.
Findings
Results depicted that in addition to the direct relationship between QWL and job satisfaction, this association is moderated by organization type.
Practical implications
The study provides critical information for health-care managers to prioritize three QWL attributes, namely, meaningful development, supervision, working conditions to enhance job satisfaction among resident doctors.
Originality/value
The study contributes to the limited empirical scholarly research adding a deeper understanding of pertinent factors influencing resident doctor’s QWL-job satisfaction relationship.
