Abstract
BACKGROUND Over the last twenty years, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have become essential for businesses aiming to enhance efficiency and gain a competitive advantage in the fierce business landscape of today. ERP systems offer substantial benefits for quality, cost-efficiency, and timely services in healthcare globally, but many organizations in underdeveloped and remote areas lack adequate IT infrastructure. OBJECTIVE This paper aims to provide an overview of the status of the ERP environment in Bangladesh's healthcare business and highlight the demands for IT-enabled health infrastructure and challenges to ERP-based health structure adoption. METHOD The study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis extension for systematic reviews using the PRISMA method. Two digital libraries including Scopus and WoS were used in this study for systematic literature review. RESULTS The study found no papers conducted on ERP in Bangladesh healthcare, including advantages and disadvantages. Some findings revealed that the adoption of ERP systems in the healthcare industry in Bangladesh remains challenging but not beyond overcome. CONCLUSIONS ERP systems would encourage substantial changes in finances, human resources and capacity, revenue, workforce scheduling, and customer satisfaction if they were successfully adopted in healthcare enterprises in Bangladesh. Further improvement is needed in various disciplines based on the existing situation and difficulties with ERP adoption in the healthcare industry. The results of this study will assist the stakeholders in making wise choices regarding the implementation of ERP and upcoming investments in Bangladesh's healthcare industry.

Abstract
This paper aims to identify the key factors influencing the intention to continue using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Extending the Technology-Organization-Environment framework, the model integrates variables from both the Technology Acceptance Model and the Information Systems Success Model. We employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling to analyze empirical data collected from 237 participants who use ERP systems in their workplaces. Our findings suggest that perceived usefulness has a positive impact on the intention to continue using ERP. Both system quality and information quality are pivotal in shaping perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Additionally, we found that top management support is a crucial determinant of continuance intention. The integrated model combines technological factors, organizational context, and environmental components to explain the ongoing use of ERP systems. This research enriches the existing literature on information systems, offering academics and managers deeper insights into the mechanisms driving continued ERP usage.

Abstract
Tax collection is an essential activity to boost the economy of all countries. Larger businesses and governments are increasingly relying on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, which are designed to enhance the collection of revenues among other things. However, the implementation of an ERP system often affects the organizational climate by changing the manner businesses are conducted from the past both internally and externally. These changes have the tendency to impact the actions of workers throughout the transition process. Nevertheless, organization climate which is an essential variable to measure the success of ERPs is mostly underutilized. Thus in this study, we proposed an information system (IS) success model that integrates organizational climate variables namely, role clarity, teamwork and support, and, training and learning into the DeLone and McLean model to evaluate the success of a tax ERP system. The proposed model was based on a quantitative and a mixed-method case study (MM-CS). Data was gathered from a top company with many branches in Ghana through interviews, observation, focus groups, and questionnaires. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to examine the 555 data collected from the questionnaire. The result of the study shows that the organizational climate variables (training & learning, teamwork & support, and role clarity) were statistically significant in determining the success of a tax ERP system. Training & learning and teamwork & support also had a positive impact on service quality, user satisfaction, and individual impact.

Abstract
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) has been found to have a key role in the management of higher learning institutions (HLIs) and schools. However, the literature shows no universal model to support and shed light on the adoption of ERP, which lessens the chances for an effective ERP adoption and usage. Therefore, a new model is needed for successful adoption and the eventual enhanced decision-making, and as such, there is a need to investigate the factors that can bring about ERP system adoption. Models for ERP adoption in literature are few and far between, and what few exist are not applicable as they do not cover all the major factors that can contribute to adoption success. Hence, in this article, an ERP adoption model was brought forward for HLIs for the promotion of their decision-making process. The model was developed through the integration of DeLone and McLean’s information success model and the technology, organisation and environment (TOE) theory. The study distributed 500 survey questionnaire copies online and collected 364 from HLIs respondents, after which they were retrieved, and data were analysed through partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) 3 statistical software. On the basis of the obtained analysis findings, technological, organisational and environmental factors had significant and positive effects on ERP adoption, and ERP adoption had a positive and significant effect on the decision-making of HLIs. The entire factors were found to be significant in their effects, and ERP adoption sufficiently explained variance extracted from decision-making. The study contributes to the literature through the pioneering measurement of factors categorised under technological, organisational and environmental dimensions, with ERP adoption and decision-making encapsulated in a single model.

Abstract
Although the first adoptions of ERP systems in Morocco date back to at least the mid-1990s, the literature on ERP implementation is very scarce. It mainly addresses the topic of critical success elements for businesses implementing ERP systems. Indeed, a major problem that may cause the failure of ERP systems implementation is the non-acceptance of these systems by the users. Research on ERP implementation success and acceptance has attracted much interest in the information system field. While this study is very rare in developing countries, this paper proposes to fill this gap in the literature by exploring the important antecedents of users’ intention to use ERP systems. This research aims to explore whether the use of consultants and end-user technical assistance are important antecedents of end-user acceptance of ERP systems and to examine the mediating effect of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on the intention to use ERP systems. Using a longitudinal survey that was administered both via email and social networks to all persons willing to participate in the study, data from a matched sample of 284 end users across a range of Moroccan organization that uses the ERP system was analyzed. The authors examined the relationships between consultant support, technical support, and end users’ acceptance of ERP information systems. PLS structural equation modeling (SEM-PLS) analyses indicated a significant direct effect of perceived usefulness on the intention to use ERP. Technical support also strongly and significantly affected perceived ease of use. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness mediated the relationship between technical support, consultant support, and the intention to use ERP systems. The present empirical study supports the hypotheses of the TAM model. The three main constructs of the model, namely perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and intention of use, are significant with ERP technology in the Moroccan context. This study shows the importance of end-user technical assistance and support from consultants in successfully implementing ERP systems.

The role of senior managers’ positive self-image in supporting MIS implementation. VINE JOURNAL OF INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS 2021. [DOI: 10.1108/vjikms-01-2021-0017] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/17/2022]
Abstract
Purpose
Researchers have long been interested in how the psychology of senior managers affects their behaviours. This paper aims to present the results of a questionnaire into how positive self-image influences how well senior managers in UK manufacturing organisations support the implementation of management information system (MIS). This study developed two scales, one to measure senior managers’ attitudes and the other to measure support of MIS implementation. It also sought to investigate the impact of senior managers’ positive self-image on their support of MIS implementation in UK manufacturing organisations.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors tested the hypotheses on a data set of 400 senior managers from UK manufacturing organisations. Two unidimensional scales to measure senior managers’ attitude and support level towards MIS implementation were developed. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to validate the scales. The study also examined the impact of senior managers’ positive self-image on their attitude and support from the perspective of UK manufacturing organisations by using structural equation modelling.
Findings
The study found that senior managers’ positive self-image is a significant contributing factor to their attitude. Also, senior managers’ attitude has a strong positive impact on their support in the MIS implementation process. A strong mediating relationship was found to exist between senior managers’ positive self-image and support through their attitude towards MIS implementation.
Originality/value
Although past literature has examined the importance of senior managers’ attitude and support in successful MIS implementation, there has been no specific scale around management support and attitude towards MIS implementation developed to date. Thus, a contribution of this study is its development of two new scales based on a survey of senior managers of UK manufacturing organisations. The scales can be used to evaluate senior managers’ perception towards MIS implementation and the support they are willing to give whilst implementing MIS. Another contribution of this study is the analysis of positive self-image via item-parcelling which improves model efficiency and provides more stable estimates of the construct.

Abstract
This study investigates the impact of enhanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) on firm performance through green supply chain management, supplier integration, and internal integration. The population is the manufacturer domiciled in East Java, Indonesia, which has implemented ERP and been certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the environmental management system. Data collection used a questionnaire designed with the five-point Likert scale. Of 243 manufacturers, 150 questionnaires were distributed, and 135 questionnaires are considered valid for analysis. Data analysis used smart PLS software. The result indicated that all eight predetermined hypotheses were supported. Enhanced ERP affects supplier integration, internal integration, and green supply chain management. Internal integration affects green supply chain management and firm performance. Supplier integration affects green supply chain management and firm performance. Green supply chain management affects firm performance. An interesting finding is that green supply chain management, internal integration, and supplier integration mediate the effect of enhanced ERP on firm performance. This study’s novelty lies in the research model that analyzes the relationship between the four constructs simultaneously with the green supply chain management, internal integration, and supplier integration as a mediating variable. The research provides an insight for the manager on how to improve the firm performance in supply chain management. This study could also contribute to the current research in supply chain management.

Abstract
There have been many attempts to understand the role of trust in the success of Information Systems (IS), but they have mainly studied users’ trust in IS themselves in online contexts, with little attention being paid to other possible trust types and organizational IS contexts. Also, there is a dearth of research on the topic in relation to tourism context and developing countries in general. This study examines the mediating role of three types of trust (management-based, provider-based, and system-based trust) in the relationship between tourism IS qualities (system, information, and service quality) with employees’ satisfaction and the intention to and actual use of a system. Perceptions were tested with data from 200 employees in the public sector of the Egyptian tourism industry using structural equation modeling. The results revealed that trust directly affects intention to use/use and user satisfaction, and it completely mediates the effect of the IS qualities on the intention to use/use and user satisfaction. This study draws attention to the requirement of investigating different types of trust to better understand its impact on tourism IS adaptation in developing countries.

Abstract
Software usability is one of the important issues of human computer interaction. It is a critical quality factor that controls the quality and the performance of any interactive software. This study aims to investigate the impact of usability attributes on end-user's acceptance of enterprise resource planning by extending the technology acceptance model to include five usability attributes, namely: task support, presentation, navigation, learnability and memorability. At the time of writing this article, to the best-known knowledge, there have been no studies in Jordan that have investigated the impact of software usability on the end users' continuous intention to use an enterprise resource planning system. The proposed research model is validated by conducting a survey from Dawacom Pharmacies based in Amman, Jordan. The results show that nine out of eleven hypotheses are significant. The findings indicate that all attributes have a significant impact on user acceptance. Except, the task support does not have a significant effect on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use.

Abstract
Purpose
Synthesising theories of enterprise resource planning (ERP), psychological empowerment and agile capabilities, the purpose of this paper is to build and test a novel theoretical model linking ERP system usage with agile capabilities via users’ psychological empowerment in Jordanian commercial banks.
Design/methodology/approach
A questionnaire was developed to collect the relevant data based on the extant literature. The population of this study consisted of all ERP system users working at Jordanian commercial banks in Amman City. The questionnaire was circulated to a purposive sample of actual users of ERP systems for two reasons. First, it was not possible to obtain a list of actual ERP users in each bank, for security and privacy reasons. Second, actual users of ERP systems are the most relevant source of information.
Findings
The results revealed that ERP system usage has a significant positive impact on both agile capabilities and users’ psychological empowerment. The results also showed that users’ psychological empowerment has a significant positive impact on agile capabilities. In addition, the results provide empirical evidence that users’ psychological empowerment plays a mediating role between ERP system usage and all agile capabilities except responsiveness. Furthermore, by adding users’ psychological empowerment to the original research model, the study demonstrates a good predictive relevance for agile capabilities.
Research limitations/implications
The study only focuses on Jordanian commercial banks; it is a cross-sectional study; and the study data were subjective, reflecting respondents’ opinion on specific time.
Practical implications
Practitioners struggle to ensure high levels of ERP usage by target users, to achieve implementation success and to achieve expected benefits. More often, practitioners have focused on the ERP system project team, vendors and technical issues, but have ignored the human side of the implementation process. Hence, they have failed to acknowledge the role of psychological empowerment in ERP system acceptance and success. Practitioners are advised to promote the ERP system as a facilitation and empowerment tool for users rather than a means of surveillance and control. Moreover, practitioners can avoid high rates of ERP failure in the adoption and post-adoption stages by changing the aim of the ERP system introduction from increasing efficiency and visibility to enhancing users’ psychological empowerment. Practitioners can leverage agile capabilities to respond to changes in the business environment by ensuring healthy psychological empowerment for all ERP users to use the system to its full capacity and to exchange information between functional units in real time. Practitioners must ensure users’ psychological readiness to use the system before the system goes live.
Originality/value
The study developed and tested a new research model using the SmartPLS approach in a novel context.

Abstract
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is an IT system that supports the business functions that firms adopt to gain advantages and development possibilities. However, some firms do not show positive financial performance after implementing ERP. Why is this the case? An ERP is an information system (IS) that brings about radical changes within organizations, changing both the IS environment and overall corporate business process, which may cause resistance from the organization’s members. Thus, change management is crucial, in operating a successful ERP, to addressing organizational changes after the adoption of ERP. The objective of this study was to examine the influence that the depth of business process reengineering (BPR) and change management have on ERP performances. To this end, KOSPI companies with more than a year of experience using ERP were analyzed using the structural equation method. This study confirmed mutual relationships between ERP success factors and its performance. In future research, it would be helpful to determine if companies with higher IT performances actually have better financial results.

Abstract
This article describes how small packaged software vendors' enterprises (SPSVEs) have played a massive role in a software environment and contributed dramatically to economies. The purpose of this article is to investigate and categorize the most recent of literature addressing small packaged software vendors' enterprises through a systematic snapshot research in order to identify current research topics and highlight some areas needing more consideration. The pattern of the authors' systematic approach is based on developing a classification scheme which targets a collection of papers published within the period of 2007-2017. The authors analysed one hundred and one papers from peer-reviewed conferences, journals, and workshops to examine the current state of SPSVE's research in order to provide systematic snapshot mapping (SSM) that includes the small packaged software life cycle, research methods used, and country of study. The systematic snapshot of 101 papers reveals that the majority of the literature has focused on the planning and implementation phases of SPSVEs. Figuring out a new model of packaged software life-cycle in SMEs will occur by applying the model of categorizations with regard to the life cycle with its factors and sub factors. Moreover, it will contribute to finding research methods, regions, top ten citation, articles type classifications, and other kinds of classifications. This research is targeted to small packaged software vendors' enterprises (SPSVEs). The authors' finding is intended for software research areas more than economic research areas. This article has presented a high degree of benefits in order to assist researchers in evidence-based decision making in terms of investigating hot research areas in line with the small packaged software vendors' enterprises (SPSVEs).

Abstract
Successful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations are a boon for organisations. However, there have been many instances of failed ERP implementations globally resulting in millions of wasted dollars. It is vital to learn from past ERP implementations so that such expensive mistakes are not recurrent. This qualitative exploratory case study aims to explore and document the lessons learned from ERP implementations in an Australian global natural resources company to mitigate such problems in the future. A single case study was conducted with the aim to understand experiences from different sites of the company that have already undergone proprietary ERP system implementation.
