Abstract
This article is concerned with the problem of finite-time H∞ state estimation for switched genetic regulatory networks with randomly occurring uncertainties. The persistent dwell-time switching rule, as a more versatile class of switching rules, is considered in this paper. Besides, several random variables that obey the Bernoulli distribution are used to represent randomly occurring uncertainties. The overriding purpose of this article is to design an estimator to ensure that the estimation error system is stochastically finite-time bounded and satisfies the H∞ performance. Based on this, sufficient conditions for the explicit form of the estimator gains can be obtained by the Lyapunov method. Finally, a numerical example is given to verify the correctness and feasibility of the proposed method.

Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of dissipativity-based filtering for switched genetic regulatory networks (GRNs) with stochastic perturbation and time-varying delays. By choosing an appropriate piecewise Lyapunov function and using the average dwell time method, we propose a new set of sufficient conditions in terms of Linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) for the existence of dissipative filter, which ensures that the resulting filtering error system is mean-square exponentially stable with dissipativity performance. The filter gains are provided by solving feasible solutions to a certain set of LMIs. A simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the desired dissipativity-based filter design approach.

Abstract
A novel state estimator is designed for genetic regulatory networks with reaction-diffusion terms in this study. First, the diffusion space (where mRNA and protein exist) is divided into several parts and only a point, a line, or a plane, etc., is measured in every subspace to reduce the measurement cost effectively. Then, samplers and network-induced time delay are considered to meet the network transmission requirement. A new criterion to ensure that the estimation error converges to zero is established by using the Lyapunov functional combined with Wirtinger's inequality, reciprocally convex approach, and Halanay's inequality; furthermore, the estimator's parameters are derived by solving linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two simulation examples (including one-dimensional and two-dimensional spaces) are presented to demonstrate the developed scheme's applicability.

Abstract
AbstractThis paper investigates the problem of finite-time stability (FTS) for a class of delayed genetic regulatory networks with reaction-diffusion terms. In order to fully utilize the system information, a linear parameterization method is proposed. Firstly, by applying the Lagrange’s mean-value theorem, the linear parameterization method is applied to transform the nonlinear system into a linear one with time-varying bounded uncertain terms. Secondly, a new generalized convex combination lemma is proposed to dispose the relationship of bounded uncertainties with respect to their boundaries. Thirdly, sufficient conditions are established to ensure the FTS by resorting to Lyapunov Krasovskii theory, convex combination technique, Jensen’s inequality, linear matrix inequality, etc. Finally, the simulation verifications indicate the validity of the theoretical results.

Abstract
In this paper, the sufficient conditions for the global exponential stability of the switched genetic regulatory networks with mixed time delays are obtained. The proposed method does not need the construction of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, but is directly proceeded by the definition of global exponential stability. The derived sufficient conditions can easily be verified by checking the eigenvalues of a constant matrix or solving several simple linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two numerical examples are presented to illustrate that the obtained global exponential stability criteria are available.

Abstract
This paper mainly focuses on the filter design with ℓ1-gain disturbance attenuation performance for a class of discrete-time positive neural networks. Discrete and distributed time-varying delays occurring in neuron transmission are taken into account. Especially, the probabilistic distribution of distributed delays is described by a Bernoulli random process in the system model. First, criteria on the positiveness and the unique equilibrium of discrete-time neural networks are presented. Second, through linear Lyapunov method, sufficient conditions for globally asymptotic stability with ℓ1-gain disturbance attenuation performance of positive neural networks are proposed. Third, using the results obtained above, criteria on ℓ1-gain stability of the established filtering error system are presented, based on which a linear programming (LP) approach is put forward to design the desired positive filter. Finally, two examples of applications to water distribution network and genetic regulatory network are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the derived results.

Abstract
In genetic regulatory networks (GRNs), the diffusion rate of mRNA and protein play a key role in regulatory mechanisms of gene expression, especially in translation and transcription. However, the influence of diffusion rate on oscillatory gene expression is not well understood. In this paper, by considering the diffusion rate of mRNA and protein, a novel GRN is proposed. Then, two basic problems of such network, i.e. stability and oscillation, are solved in detail. Moreover, the properties of oscillation are also investigated. it is found that the total biochemistry reaction time can affect the stability of the positive equilibrium and give rise to the oscillation. The diffusion rate of mRNA and proteins have a major impact on the oscillation properties. Finally, two examples not only verify the theoretical results, but also show that a slight diffusion rate increasing may lead to huge change in oscillatory gene expressions.

Abstract
It has been demonstrated in a large number of experimental results that small RNAs (sRNAs) play a vital role in gene regulation processes. Thus, the gene regulation process is dominated by sRNAs in addition to messenger RNAs and proteins. However, the regulation mechanism of sRNAs is not well understood and there are few models considering the effect of sRNAs. So it is of realistic biological background to include sRNAs when modeling gene networks. In this paper, sRNAs are incorporated into the process of gene expression and a new differential equation model is put forward to describe cyclic genetic regulatory networks with sRNAs and multiple delays. We mainly investigate the stability and bifurcation criteria for two cases: 1) positive cyclic genetic regulatory networks and 2) negative cyclic genetic regulatory networks. For a positive cyclic genetic regulatory network, it is revealed that there may exist more than one equilibrium and the multistability can appear. Sufficient conditions are established for the delay-independent stability and fold bifurcations. It is found that the dynamics of positive cyclic gene networks has no bearing on time delays, but depends on the biochemical parameters, the Hill coefficient and the equilibrium itself. For a negative cyclic genetic regulatory network, it is proved that there exists a unique equilibrium. Delay-dependent conditions for the stability are derived, and the existence of Hopf bifurcations is examined. Different from the delay-independent stability of positive gain networks, the stability of equilibrium is determined not only by the biochemical parameters, the Hill coefficient and the equilibrium itself, but also by the total delay. At last, three illustrative examples are provided to validate the major results.

Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of state estimation for delayed genetic regulatory networks (DGRNs) with reaction-diffusion terms using Dirichlet boundary conditions. The nonlinear regulation function of DGRNs is assumed to exhibit the Hill form. The aim of this paper is to design a state observer to estimate the concentrations of mRNAs and proteins via available measurement techniques. By introducing novel integral terms into the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and by employing the Wirtinger-type integral inequality, the convex approach, Green's identity, the reciprocally convex approach, and Wirtinger's inequality, an asymptotic stability criterion of the error system was established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The stability criterion depends upon the bounds of delays and their derivatives. It should be noted that if the set of LMIs is feasible, then the desired observation of DGRNs is possible, and the state estimation can be determined. Finally, two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the availability and applicability of the proposed scheme design.

Abstract
This paper deals with the sampled-data stabilization problem for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy genetic regulatory networks with leakage delays. A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) is established by the non-uniform division of the delay intervals with triplex and quadruplex integral terms. Using such LKFs for constant and time-varying delay cases, new stability conditions are obtained in the T-S fuzzy framework. Based on this, a new condition for the sampled-data controller design is proposed using a linear matrix inequality representation. A numerical result is provided to show the effectiveness and potential of the developed design method.

Abstract
This paper is concerned with the finite-time stability problem of the delayed genetic regulatory networks (GRNs) with reaction-diffusion terms under Dirichlet boundary conditions. By constructing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional including quad-slope integrations, we establish delay-dependent finite-time stability criteria by employing the Wirtinger-type integral inequality, Gronwall inequality, convex technique, and reciprocally convex technique. In addition, the obtained criteria are also reaction-diffusion-dependent. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
