Generation of Multi-Scroll Chaotic Attractors from a Jerk Circuit with a Special Form of a Sine Function

A novel chaotic system for generating multi-scroll attractors based on a Jerk circuit using a special form of a sine function (SFSF) is proposed in this paper, and the SFSF is the product of a sine function and a sign function. Although there are infinite equilibrium points in this system, the scroll number of the generated chaotic attractors is certain under appropriate system parameters. The dynamical properties of the proposed chaotic system are studied through Lyapunov exponents, phase portraits, and bifurcation diagrams. It is found that the scroll number of the chaotic system in the left and right part of the x-y plane can be determined arbitrarily by adjusting the values of the parameters in the SFSF, and the size of attractors is dominated by the frequency of the SFSF. Finally, an electronic circuit of the proposed chaotic system is implemented on Pspice, and the simulation results of electronic circuit are in agreement with the numerical ones.

New Nonlinear Active Element Dedicated to Modeling Chaotic Dynamics with Complex Polynomial Vector Fields

This paper describes evolution of new active element that is able to significantly simplify the design process of lumped chaotic oscillator, especially if the concept of analog computer or state space description is adopted. The major advantage of the proposed active device lies in the incorporation of two fundamental mathematical operations into a single five-port voltage-input current-output element: namely, differentiation and multiplication. The developed active device is verified inside three different synthesis scenarios: circuitry realization of a third-order cyclically symmetrical vector field, hyperchaotic system based on the Lorenz equations and fourth- and fifth-order hyperjerk function. Mentioned cases represent complicated vector fields that cannot be implemented without the necessity of utilizing many active elements. The captured oscilloscope screenshots are compared with numerically integrated trajectories to demonstrate good agreement between theory and measurement.

An Approach for the Generation of an Nth-Order Chaotic System with Hyperbolic Sine

Chaotic systems with hyperbolic sine nonlinearity have attracted the attention of researchers in the last two years. This paper introduces a new approach for generating a class of simple chaotic systems with hyperbolic sine. With nth-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs), any desirable order of chaotic systems with hyperbolic sine nonlinearity can be easily constructed. Fourth-order, fifth-order, and tenth-order chaotic systems are taken as examples to verify the theory. To achieve simplicity of the electrical circuit, two back-to-back diodes represent hyperbolic sine nonlinearity without any multiplier or subcircuits. Thus, these systems can achieve both physical simplicity and analytic complexity at the same time.

Polynomial law for controlling the generation of n-scroll chaotic attractors in an optoelectronic delayed oscillator

Controlled transitions between a hierarchy of n-scroll attractors are investigated in a nonlinear optoelectronic oscillator. Using the system's feedback strength as a control parameter, it is shown experimentally the transition from Van der Pol-like attractors to 6-scroll, but in general, this scheme can produce an arbitrary number of scrolls. The complexity of every state is characterized by Lyapunov exponents and autocorrelation coefficients.

n-scroll chaotic attractors from a first-order time-delay differential equation

In this paper, a novel first-order delay differential equation capable of generating n-scroll chaotic attractor is presented. Hopf bifurcation of the introduced n-scroll chaotic system is analytically and numerically determined. The bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov spectrum of the system are calculated and the results show that the system has a chaotic regime in a wider parameter range. Furthermore, period-3 behavior has been observed on the system. Circuit realizations of two-, three-, four-, and five-scroll chaotic attractors are also presented.

Multifolded torus chaotic attractors: design and implementation

This paper proposes a systematic methodology for creating multifolded torus chaotic attractors from a simple three-dimensional piecewise-linear system. Theoretical analysis shows that the multifolded torus chaotic attractors can be generated via alternative switchings between two basic linear systems. The theoretical design principle and the underlying dynamic mechanism are then further investigated by analyzing the emerging bifurcation and the stable and unstable subspaces of the two basic linear systems. A novel block circuit diagram is also designed for hardware implementation of 3-, 5-, 7-, 9-folded torus chaotic attractors via switching the corresponding switches. This is the first time a 9-folded torus chaotic attractor generated by an analog circuit has been verified experimentally. Furthermore, some recursive formulas of system parameters are rigorously derived, which is useful for improving hardware implementation.

A general multiscroll Lorenz system family and its realization via digital signal processors

This paper proposes a general multiscroll Lorenz system family by introducing a novel parameterized nth-order polynomial transformation. Some basic dynamical behaviors of this general multiscroll Lorenz system family are then investigated, including bifurcations, maximum Lyapunov exponents, and parameters regions. Furthermore, the general multiscroll Lorenz attractors are physically verified by using digital signal processors.
