Neural Network-Based Passive Filtering for Delayed Neutral-Type Semi-Markovian Jump Systems

Event-Triggered Reduced-Order Filtering for Continuous Semi-Markov Jump Systems With Imperfect Measurements

This article conducts the issue of event-triggered reduced-order filtering for continuous-time semi-Markov jump systems with imperfect measurements as well as randomly occurring uncertainties (ROUs). Specifically, the sojourn-time-dependent transition probability matrix (TPM) is presumed to be polytopic and a quantizer is introduced to quantize output signals aiming to reflect the reality. Both ROUs and sensor failures are generated by individual random variables belonging to be mutually independent Bernoulli-distributed white sequences. First, sufficient conditions for the existence of the event-triggered reduced-order filter are obtained by utilizing the dissipativity-based technique to ensure the asymptotical stability with a strictly dissipative performance of the filtering error system. The time-varying TPM is then fractionalized, which enhances the results as stated. Furthermore, the required reduced-order filter parameters are obtained by introducing slack symmetric matrix as well as cone complementarity linearization algorithm. The effectiveness of the suggested event-triggered reduced-order filter design method is shown through simulation results.

Research on improved convolutional wavelet neural network

Artificial neural networks (ANN) which include deep learning neural networks (DNN) have problems such as the local minimal problem of Back propagation neural network (BPNN), the unstable problem of Radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and the limited maximum precision problem of Convolutional neural network (CNN). Performance (training speed, precision, etc.) of BPNN, RBFNN and CNN are expected to be improved. Main works are as follows: Firstly, based on existing BPNN and RBFNN, Wavelet neural network (WNN) is implemented in order to get better performance for further improving CNN. WNN adopts the network structure of BPNN in order to get faster training speed. WNN adopts the wavelet function as an activation function, whose form is similar to the radial basis function of RBFNN, in order to solve the local minimum problem. Secondly, WNN-based Convolutional wavelet neural network (CWNN) method is proposed, in which the fully connected layers (FCL) of CNN is replaced by WNN. Thirdly, comparative simulations based on MNIST and CIFAR-10 datasets among the discussed methods of BPNN, RBFNN, CNN and CWNN are implemented and analyzed. Fourthly, the wavelet-based Convolutional Neural Network (WCNN) is proposed, where the wavelet transformation is adopted as the activation function in Convolutional Pool Neural Network (CPNN) of CNN. Fifthly, simulations based on CWNN are implemented and analyzed on the MNIST dataset. Effects are as follows: Firstly, WNN can solve the problems of BPNN and RBFNN and have better performance. Secondly, the proposed CWNN can reduce the mean square error and the error rate of CNN, which means CWNN has better maximum precision than CNN. Thirdly, the proposed WCNN can reduce the mean square error and the error rate of CWNN, which means WCNN has better maximum precision than CWNN.

Event-Triggered Asynchronous Guaranteed Cost Control for Markov Jump Discrete-Time Neural Networks With Distributed Delay and Channel Fading

This paper is concerned with the guaranteed cost control problem for a class of Markov jump discrete-time neural networks (NNs) with event-triggered mechanism, asynchronous jumping, and fading channels. The Markov jump NNs are introduced to be close to reality, where the modes of the NNs and guaranteed cost controller are determined by two mutually independent Markov chains. The asynchronous phenomenon is considered, which increases the difficulty of designing required mode-dependent controller. The event-triggered mechanism is designed by comparing the relative measurement error with the last triggered state at the process of data transmission, which is used to eliminate dispensable transmission and reduce the networked energy consumption. In addition, the signal fading is considered for the effect of signal reflection and shadow in wireless networks, which is modeled by the novel Rice fading models. Some novel sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee that the closed-loop system reaches a specified cost value under the designed jumping state feedback control law in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, some simulation results are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Stability Analysis and Application for Delayed Neural Networks Driven by Fractional Brownian Noise

This paper deals with two types of the stability problem for the delayed neural networks driven by fractional Brownian noise (FBN). The existence and the uniqueness of the solution to the main system with respect to FBN are proved via fixed point theory. Based on Hilbert-Schmidt operator theory and analytic semigroup principle, the mild solution of the stochastic neural networks is obtained. By applying the stochastic analytic technique and some well-known inequalities, the asymptotic stability criteria and the exponential stability condition are established. Both numerical example and practical application for synchronization control of multiagent system are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and potential of the proposed techniques.

Passivity and Output Synchronization of Complex Dynamical Networks With Fixed and Adaptive Coupling Strength

This paper considers a complex dynamical network model, in which the input and output vectors have different dimensions. We, respectively, investigate the passivity and the relationship between output strict passivity and output synchronization of the complex dynamical network with fixed and adaptive coupling strength. First, two new passivity definitions are proposed, which generalize some existing concepts of passivity. By constructing appropriate Lyapunov functional, some sufficient conditions ensuring the passivity, input strict passivity and output strict passivity are derived for the complex dynamical network with fixed coupling strength. In addition, we also reveal the relationship between output strict passivity and output synchronization of the complex dynamical network with fixed coupling strength. By employing the relationship between output strict passivity and output synchronization, a sufficient condition for output synchronization of the complex dynamical network with fixed coupling strength is established. Then, we extend these results to the case when the coupling strength is adaptively adjusted. Finally, two examples with numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed criteria.

Design of Adaptive Fuzzy Control for a Class of Networked Nonlinear Systems

This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy controller for a class of unknown nonlinear systems over network. The network-induced delays can degrade the performance of the networked control systems (NCSs) and also can destabilize the system. Moreover, the seriousness of the delay problem is aggravated when packet losses occur during a transmission of data. The proposed controller uses a filtered tracking error to cope the time-varying network-induced delays. It is also robust enough to cope some packet losses in the system. Fuzzy logic systems (FLSs) are used to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions that appear in the tracking controller. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the constructed controller is proved to be asymptotically stable. Stability of the adaptive fuzzy controller is guaranteed in the presence of bounded external disturbance, time-varying delays, and data packet dropouts. Simulated application of the inverted pendulum tracking illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed technique with comparative results.
