Adaptive Neural Fixed-Time Tracking Control for High-Order Nonlinear Systems

Security and Safety-Critical Learning-Based Collaborative Control for Multiagent Systems

This article presents a novel learning-based collaborative control framework to ensure communication security and formation safety of nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) subject to denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, model uncertainties, and barriers in environments. The framework has a distributed and decoupled design at the cyber-layer and the physical layer. A resilient control Lyapunov function-quadratic programming (RCLF-QP)-based observer is first proposed to achieve secure reference state estimation under DoS attacks at the cyber-layer. Based on deep reinforcement learning (RL) and control barrier function (CBF), a safety-critical formation controller is designed at the physical layer to ensure safe collaborations between uncertain agents in dynamic environments. The framework is applied to autonomous vehicles for area scanning formations with barriers in environments. The comparative experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework can effectively improve the resilience and robustness of the system.

Memristor-Based Neural Network Circuit of Associative Memory With Overshadowing and Emotion Congruent Effect

Most memristor-based neural network circuits consider only a single pattern of overshadowing or emotion, but the relationship between overshadowing and emotion is ignored. In this article, a memristor-based neural network circuit of associative memory with overshadowing and emotion congruent effect is designed, and overshadowing under multiple emotions is taken into account. The designed circuit mainly consists of an emotion module, a memory module, an inhibition module, and a feedback module. The generation and recovery of different emotions are realized by the emotion module. The functions of overshadowing under different emotions and recovery from overshadowing are achieved by the inhibition module and the memory module. Finally, the blocking caused by long-term overshadowing is implemented by the feedback module. The proposed circuit can be applied to bionic emotional robots and offers some references for brain-like systems.

Two Novel Noise-Suppression Projection Neural Networks With Fixed-Time Convergence for Variational Inequalities and Applications

This article proposes two novel projection neural networks (PNNs) with fixed-time ( ) convergence to deal with variational inequality problems (VIPs). The remarkable features of the proposed PNNs are convergence and more accurate upper bounds for arbitrary initial conditions. The robustness of the proposed PNNs under bounded noises is further studied. In addition, the proposed PNNs are applied to deal with absolute value equations (AVEs), noncooperative games, and sparse signal reconstruction problems (SSRPs). The upper bounds of the settling time for the proposed PNNs are tighter than the bounds in the existing neural networks. The effectiveness and advantages of the proposed PNNs are confirmed by numerical examples.

Neural Networks for Portfolio Analysis in High-Frequency Trading

High-frequency trading proposes new challenges to classical portfolio selection problems. Especially, the timely and accurate solution of portfolios is highly demanded in financial market nowadays. This article makes progress along this direction by proposing novel neural networks with softmax equalization to address the problem. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that softmax technique is used to deal with equation constraints in portfolio selections. Theoretical analysis shows that the proposed method is globally convergent to the optimum of the optimization formulation of portfolio selection. Experiments based on real stock data verify the effectiveness of the proposed solution. It is worth mentioning that the two proposed models achieve 5.50% and 5.47% less cost, respectively, than the solution obtained by using MATLAB dedicated solvers, which demonstrates the superiority of the proposed strategies.

A Dynamic Parameter Noise-Tolerant Zeroing Neural Network for Time-Varying Quaternion Matrix Equation With Applications

As a common and significant problem in the field of industrial information, the time-varying quaternion matrix equation (TV-QME) is considered in this article and addressed by an improved zeroing neural network (ZNN) method based on the real representation of the quaternion. In the light of an improved dynamic parameter (IDP) and an innovative activation function (IAF), a dynamic parameter noise-tolerant ZNN (DPNTZNN) model is put forward for solving the TV-QME. The presented IDP with the character of changing with the residual error and the proposed IAF with the remarkable performance can strongly enhance the convergence and robustness of the DPNTZNN model. Therefore, the DPNTZNN model possesses fast predefined-time convergence and superior robustness under different noise environments, which are theoretically analyzed in detail. Besides, the provided simulative experiments verify the advantages of the DPNTZNN model for solving the TV-QME, especially compared with other ZNN models. Finally, the DPNTZNN model is applied to image restoration, which further illustrates the practicality of the DPNTZNN model.

Zeroing Neural Network With Coefficient Functions and Adjustable Parameters for Solving Time-Variant Sylvester Equation

To solve the time-variant Sylvester equation, in 2013, Li et al. proposed the zeroing neural network with sign-bi-power function (ZNN-SBPF) model via constructing a nonlinear activation function. In this article, to further improve the convergence rate, the zeroing neural network with coefficient functions and adjustable parameters (ZNN-CFAP) model as a variation in zeroing neural network (ZNN) model is proposed. On the basis of the introduced coefficient functions, an appropriate ZNN-CFAP model can be chosen according to the error function. The high convergence rate of the ZNN-CFAP model can be achieved by choosing appropriate adjustable parameters. Moreover, the finite-time convergence property and convergence time upper bound of the ZNN-CFAP model are proved in theory. Computer simulations and numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the efficacy and validity of the ZNN-CFAP model in time-variant Sylvester equation solving. Comparative experiments among the ZNN-CFAP, ZNN-SBPF, and ZNN with linear function (ZNN-LF) models further substantiate the superiority of the ZNN-CFAP model in view of the convergence rate. Finally, the proposed ZNN-CFAP model is successfully applied to the tracking control of robot manipulator to verify its practicability.

Adaptive NN Fixed-Time Fault-Tolerant Control for Uncertain Stochastic System With Deferred Output Constraint via Self-Triggered Mechanism

For a class of nonstrict-feedback stochastic nonlinear systems with the injection and deception attacks, this article explores the problem of adaptive neural network (NN) fixed-time control ground on the self-triggered mechanism in a pioneering way. After developing the self-triggered mechanism and the delay-error-dependence function, a neural adaptive delay-constrained fault-tolerant controller is proposed by employing the backstepping technique. The self-triggered mechanism does not require an additional observer to determine the time of the data transmission, which reduces the consumption of the system resources more efficiently. In addition, the whole Lyapunov function with the delay-error-dependence term is developed to solve the deferred output constraint problem. Under the proposed controller, it can be proven that all the signals within the closed-loop system are semiglobally uniformly bounded in probability, while the convergence time is independent of the initial state and the deferred output constraint control performance is achieved. The feasibility and the superiority of the proposed control strategy are shown by some simulations.

Fixed-Time Tracking Control for Nonlinear Cascade Systems with Unknown High Powers

This paper investigates the global fixed-time tracking control problem of nonlinear cascade systems with unknown high powers. In the process of control design, a upper bound and a lower bound of high powers are introduced to compensate the unknown system powers, and a state feedback controller is designed under any initial system conditions. Based on the Lyapunov stability analysis method and the fixed-time stability theory, it is verified that the proposed method can regulate the output tracking error to a disc region of the origin within a fixed-time and all the closed-loop signals are bounded. At last, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by some simulation results.
