Abstract
Skin cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world, and its incidence and mortality rates are increasing continuously, mostly in regions with white-skinned inhabitants. The types of skin cancer vary in their origin and clinical appearances and also differ in their extensiveness. The continents of the world have different scenarios of skin cancer prevalence. This review aims to explore the different types of skin cancer, their clinical features, and their worldwide prevalence based on the literature. Literature from different electronic databases, including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Elsevier, and Springer, were collected through a literature search using specific keywords such as "skin cancer", "skin cancer types", "melanoma", "non-melanoma", "skin cancer continental prevalence" or similar keywords. The search included English publications from 2000 to 2024. Melanoma skin cancer (MSC) ranks 17th in global prevalence, with the highest incidence and deaths occurring in Europe, However, Australia and New Zealand record the highest incidence and mortality rates. Asia has a lower incidence rate of melanoma, but a higher mortality rate. Superficial spreading melanoma (SSM) is the most common type of MSC. Non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs) have the highest incidence in North America, with the highest number of deaths occurring in Asia, Australia and New Zealand have the highest incidence rates for basal cell carcinoma (BCC). BCC is the most commonly diagnosed skin cancer worldwide and the most prevalent form of NMSCs; however, squamous cell carcinoma is the most aggressive form of NMSCs, causing more deaths. NMSCs are the most prevalent cancers worldwide, causing most skin cancer-related deaths. The prevalence of skin cancer rising globally, with several continents experiencing higher incidence and mortality rates. The types and subtypes of skin cancer are becoming more common among clinically diagnosed cancers. This review comprehensively describes skin cancer types and their prevalence worldwide. However, the actual prevalence of skin cancer in these countries should be investigated. Further research on the prevalence of skin cancer across different continents is required to develop more effective cancer management strategies and control the spread of the disease.

Abstract
Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, with the loss of approximately 60,000 lives world-wide each year. Despite the development of targeted therapeutics, including compounds that have selectivity for mutant oncoproteins expressed only in cancer cells, many patients are either unresponsive to initial therapy or their tumors acquire resistance. This results in five-year survival rates of below 25%. New strategies that either kill drug-resistant melanoma cells or prevent their emergence would be extremely valuable. Melanoma, like other cancers, has long been described as being under increased oxidative stress, resulting in an increased reliance on antioxidant defense systems. Changes in redox homeostasis are most apparent during metastasis and during the metabolic reprogramming associated with the development of treatment resistance. This review discusses oxidative stress in melanoma, with a particular focus on targeting antioxidant pathways to limit the emergence of drug resistant cells.

Abstract
Introduction melanoma patients who become stage III after a positive sentinel node biopsy (SNB) may have several patterns of recurrence patients and methods retrospective analysis of melanoma patients who have undergone SNB in a single institution from 2000 to 2015. Results There were 111 recurrences (45.1%) among 246 (20.3%) SNB positive patients and median DRFS was 77.7 months. After initial treatment, further recurrences occurred in 68 (77.3%) patients, regardless the site of initial recurrence conclusions multimodal strategies are recommended to achieve better results when managing stage III melanoma patients after a positive SNB.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Sentinel node biopsy (SNB) has evolved from offering staging and prognostication to a procedure that guides therapeutic management. The aim was to evaluate the rate of SNB for patients with high-risk melanoma and assess factors that may have impacted on the procedure being performed. METHODS Data of patients with primary invasive cutaneous melanoma from 01 January 2009 to 31 December 2019 were obtained from the Queensland Oncology Repository. High-risk melanoma was defined as ≥0.8 mm thick or < 0.8 mm with ulceration present (AJCC eighth edition pT1b -pT4 ). RESULTS 14 006 (33.8%) of 41 412 patients diagnosed with cutaneous invasive melanoma were in the high-risk group. 2923(20.9%) patients had SNB, with the rate increasing from 14.2% (2009) to 36.8% (2019) (P = 0.002), and an increasing proportion being performed in public hospitals over the 11 year period (P = 0.02). Older age (OR0.96 (0.959-0.964) (P < 0.001)), female (OR0.91 (0.830-0.998) (P = 0.03)), head and neck primary (OR0.38 (0.33-0.45) (P < 0.001)), and pT1b (OR0.22 (0.19-0.25) (P < 0.001)) were factors associated with SNB not being performed. Travel out of the Hospital and Health Services of residence for SNB occurred in 26.2%. Although the travel rate decreased from 24.7% (2009) to 23.0% (2019) (P = 0.04), the absolute number increased due to the increase in SNB rate. Those most likely to travel were younger, from remote areas, or from affluent backgrounds. CONCLUSION In this first Australian population-based study, there was an increased adherence to SNB guideline, although overall SLNB rates remain low, with nearly 2/3 of eligible cases not having the procedure in 2019. Although travel rates decreased marginally, the overall number increased. This study highlights the crucial need to further improve access to SNB for melanoma surgery for the Queensland population.
