Abstract
In 2017, the Health Resources and Services Administration's HIV/AIDS Bureau funded an Evaluation Center (EC) to assess the rapid implementation of 11 evidence-informed interventions at 25 HIV care and treatment providers across the U.S. The EC conducted an implementation science-based evaluation, including longitudinal assessment of implementation outcomes as defined by Implementation Outcome Framework (IOF) of the Conceptual Model for Implementation Research. The EC adapted a measure originally designed for implementation readiness to capture seven implementation outcomes and administered the measure to site leadership every six months, from intervention launch through the end of the initiative. The adapted measure demonstrated adequate internal consistency within and across time periods. Individual outcomes changed over the course of implementation, with the greatest period of growth during the first six months. Longitudinal relationships between outcomes posited to be most relevant at early, mid- or late-implementation were not evident in these analyses; rather, relationships between the outcomes were significant within time periods. Finally, there were differences in the trajectory of outcomes based on characteristics of the site's larger context. The use of this adapted measure across multiple implementation settings, assessing multiple interventions, is an important step forward in the comparability of implementation outcomes more broadly.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In contemporary Iran, the nation's traditional and deeply religious society is currently experiencing swift transformations in its moral, cultural, and social aspects. It is, therefore, not surprising to observe shifts in people's attitudes toward sexuality, largely attributed to the profound impact of widespread social networks, the proliferation of information technology, and increased levels of education. Unmarried young women may potentially face adverse consequences from engaging in extramarital sexual relationships across various aspects of their lives. Acknowledging the pivotal role of self-care in influencing the sexual behaviors of young women, the objective of this study is to compile a comprehensive list of self-care strategies aimed at improving the sexual well-being of young, single Iranian women. METHODS The research will unfold in three distinct phases: Phase 1: Explanatory Sequential Mixed-Method Study This initial phase encompasses both quantitative and qualitative aspects. It begins with a cross-sectional survey, where we will gather data from 400 unmarried female students aged 18 to 29 years, utilizing a cluster random sampling method at Kerman University of Medical Sciences. Data collection will involve the use of a researcher-designed questionnaire. Subsequently, the qualitative phase will involve conducting in-depth, semi-structured interviews with female students from the University. To analyze this qualitative data, we will employ the content analysis approach. The findings obtained from both phases will be combined. Phase 2: Narrative Review In the second stage of the study, we will conduct an extensive narrative review to explore existing strategies related to the subject matter comprehensively. This review will serve as the foundational basis for our subsequent analysis. Phase 3: Strategy Prioritization In the final phase, we will prioritize the proposed strategies using a nominal group process, soliciting expert advice. This step will result in the definitive list of strategies that emerge from the study. DISCUSSION This study pioneers the field of sexual health, with the goal of developing a protocol for creating self-care strategies based on the perspectives of young, unmarried Iranian women. It offers potential evidence-based insights into current developments in the physical, psychological, and social aspects of sexual health within this demographic. Additionally, it aims to furnish essential information to healthcare policymakers regarding the sexual health of young women.

Abstract
Youth sex and relationship education programs aim to improve adolescent well-being by changing their knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes regarding sex and their health. However, there is a gap in existing research linking these cognitive targets to relevant behaviors, and a particular dearth of data on links with sexual behaviors. The current study tested longitudinal links between cognitive factors related to sex (attitudes about sex, normative beliefs, risk-avoidant intentions, and confidence in refusal skills) and outcomes of sexual behaviors (recent sexual encounters, number of sexual partners, and frequency of condom use). Data were drawn from three waves of data from a panel study of US high-school students and were analyzed using cross-lagged structural equation modeling. We hypothesized direct, reciprocal links between intentions and behaviors, but this hypothesis was not supported. Instead, more conservative attitudes about sex emerged as the most consistent prospective predictor of fewer sexual encounters and sexual partners, though with small effect sizes (βs = - .08 to - .131, ps < .05). Further, bidirectional interrelationships were observed among several of the cognitive and behavioral variables over time. These results highlight attitudes about sex as a potentially useful intervention target, but also suggest that sex and relationship education curricula and evaluations should consider multiple pathways of links between cognition and behavior. Continued research is needed on causal links between adolescents' sexual attitudes, knowledge, intentions, and behavior.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIM Some cultural scenarios in pregnancy and childbirth reinforce dysfunctional sexual beliefs that reverse changes in the couple's sexual life. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of education by sending text messages on modifying dysfunctional sexual beliefs in pregnant women. METHODS & MATERIALS This study is a randomized clinical trial, and 82 eligible pregnant women referred to educational-medical centers to receive prenatal care were randomly assigned to intervention or control group. The intervention group received 24 text messages during eight weeks (three text messages per week), and the control group received only routine care. Data was collected through a demographic questionnaire, reproductive profile, Spinner's Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS), and dysfunctional sexual beliefs questionnaire. Both groups completed the questionnaires before and one week after the intervention. Independent t-test, paired t-test, and analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. RESULTS The findings revealed no statistically significant difference in the baseline Dyadic Adjustment mean scores of control (132.4 ± 11.01) and intervention (130.10 ± 10.66) groups. Paired t-test analysis showed that the mean score of dysfunctional sexual beliefs was significantly decreased from (29 ± 7.61) at baseline compared to one week after intervention (10.54 ± 6.97) (p < 0.001). Analysis of covariance test to compare the scores of dysfunctional sexual beliefs in the intervention group (10.54 ± 6.97) and control group (26.80 ± 7.80) showed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.01) with an effect size of 0.67. CONCLUSION This study showed that sending text messages to mobile phones of pregnant women has corrected their dysfunctional sexual beliefs. Therefore, this approach can be used in pregnancy care to promote women's sexual health. TRIAL REGISTRATION Clinical trial registry: IRCT20161230031662N9 .

Abstract
Sexual activity occurs among a large portion of young adults and adolescents, including high school students. While about 40% of high school students nationwide have engaged in sexual intercourse, more information is needed about how individual characteristics may relate to larger patterns of adolescent sexual behavior. This exploratory study utilized a latent class analysis (LCA) to identify clusters of high school students (N = 801) based on demographic characteristics, sexual refusal skills, healthy relationship skills, sociosexuality, internalizing symptoms, alcohol use, various forms of social support (i.e., parents, friends, teachers), and sexual activity at baseline to predict their sexual behavior at a 6-month follow-up. Four unique latent classes were identified based on these baseline predictors. Distinctions in the profiles of high schoolers varied significantly by internalizing symptoms, race/ethnicity, sexually conservative attitudes, and social support in the prediction of adolescent sexual activity at 6-months. This study contributes to the investigation of demographic, social, psychological, attitudinal, and behavioral factors that may distinguish high school students from one another in terms of their longitudinal rates of sexual activity.

Blumenstock SM. Expectations and Sexual Desire in Romantic Relationships: An Experimental Investigation of Pleasure and Emotional Closeness Expectancies among Young Adults. Abstract
Drawing from expectancy-value theory, the current study documented expected likelihoods (i.e., expectancies) of orgasm, non-orgasmic sexual pleasure, and emotional closeness during sex with a romantic partner, then tested their causal roles in sexual desire. Participants (N = 582, 50.3% women) were drawn from college student and online samples of young adults in the US. Expectancies were high overall; men reported much higher orgasm expectancies than women and this gender difference was larger in the college sample. Using a within-subjects, factorial experimental design, hypothetical vignettes manipulated participants' expectancies (high/low) pertaining to sex with a romantic partner. Multilevel models indicated emotional closeness expectancies had the strongest effects on men's and women's desire. Orgasm expectancies had stronger effects among the online sample, yet had the weakest effects on desire overall. Both emotional closeness and non-orgasmic pleasure expectancies had stronger effects on women's desire than on men's. Findings indicate young adults' expectations for their romantic sexual experiences may play strong roles in stimulating or stifling their sexual desire, suggesting some desire differences may be partially explained by differences in expectancies, and underscore sex as an important mechanism for fostering intimacy and experiencing pleasure for both young men and young women. Implications for clinical practice are discussed.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Knowledge about sexual health is a key determinant of sexual behavior among adolescent sexual minority males (ASMM). No measures exist to assess anal sex knowledge, even though anal sex is the primary route by which ASMM acquire sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including a disproportionate burden of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). AIM We developed a new measure as a first step toward assessing the prevalence and correlates of anal sex knowledge and potential effects of interventions to improve knowledge. METHODS Two coders independently outlined domains of knowledge within 2 sex education videos designed to address anal sex knowledge among ASMM. An initial set of 56 items, some duplicative, encompassed all domains. A larger team, including a psychometrician, then iteratively revised and reduced the set of items, and assessed construct validity via cognitive testing among ASMM (N = 4, aged 16-17 years old, 75% identifying as racial/ethnic minorities). For the final set of 10 items, factor structure and convergent and divergent validity were assessed using baseline responses to an online survey within a randomized controlled pilot trial among 154 ASMM. Open-ended questions assessed their comprehension and the acceptability of items. OUTCOMES We examined correlates that we anticipated would be theoretically related (ie, the HIV Knowledge Questionnaire [HIV-KQ-18] and the STD-Knowledge Questionnaire [STD-KQ]) and theoretically distinct (ie, the Patient Health Questionnaire [PHQ-2], Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale [GAD-2], and employment status). RESULTS The one-factor model explained 42% of the items' common variance and demonstrated acceptable internal reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.72). The measure withstood tests of convergent and divergent validity when compared to current measures (HIV knowledge, r = 0.35 and STI knowledge, r = 0.24, both P < .05; internalizing mental health symptoms, r = -0.07 and employment status, r = 0.13, both P > .05). Few respondents found words unfamiliar or uncomfortable. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS A method for assessing anal sex knowledge may offer opportunities to intervene to lessen harmful sequelae of a lack of knowledge. STRENGTH & LIMITATIONS We developed a brief, psychometrically valid measure of anal sex knowledge. The measure may neither generalize to all anal health knowledge nor to more sexually experienced, older SMM. CONCLUSION The resulting 10-item, single-factor measure, the Inventory of Anal Sex Knowledge (iASK), is psychometrically sound and addresses the lack of anal sex knowledge measures among ASMM. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Sexual health disparities are leading causes of morbidity among youth of color in the United States. We conducted a scoping review of the literature on precursors to sexual risk-taking among young adolescents of color (ages 10-14) to assess precedents of sexual experience and their utility as measurable proximal constructs and behaviors gauging sexual risk and sexual risk prevention efforts. METHODS This study was conducted using the PRISMA extension for scoping reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines. We searched for quantitative studies that assessed the relationships between precursors and subsequent sexual behaviors, incorporated youth of color, and specified young adolescents as the study sample. All articles were in English, however we explored both U.S. and International databases. RESULTS The database search yielded 11 studies published between 2000 and 2017. Most literature focused on youth in urban settings, and on Black and Latinx youth, while only two addressed the special circumstances of American Indian and Alaska Native youth. Sex expectancies outcomes for youth of color were likely to predict sexual risk taking and self-efficacy about sex was related to abstinence. CONCLUSIONS Etiologic studies that seek to understand precursors to sexual risk taking among youth of color are limited and this paucity truncates the ability to develop sexual risk prevention programs for the age group in which prevention is most needed.

Abstract
While risky sexual behavior associates with negative affect, and impulsivity often increases during negative affective states, little is known about the interrelations of these factors. This study examined whether impulsivity explained the relation between negative affect and risky sex among college students. Negative affect exhibited an indirect effect via impulsivity on number of sexual partners for both males and females, and on inconsistent condom use for females, but not males. Results suggest risky sex may serve to regulate negative affect, proposing the importance of negative affect in future strategies to reduce risky sex among young adults.

Abstract
To expand the scant research on sexual expectancies development among non-sexually active adolescents, we examined the relationship between adolescents' exposure to four socializing agents--mother/female guardian, father/male guardian, peers, and television programs with high sexual content--and their endorsement of four sexual expectancies: social benefit, pleasure, social risk, and health risk. Data are from Waves 2 and 3 of a three-wave annual longitudinal study conducted among California adolescents, the majority of whom were not sexually active (N = 914, 84%). Structural equation models were conducted to examine cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between the socializing agents and the sexual expectancies. Cross-sectional results indicate associations between peer sexual communication and social benefit, pleasure, and social risk expectancies. A positive association was found between exposure to music videos and social benefit expectancies, and a negative association was found between exposure to music videos and health risk expectancies. Longitudinal results suggest that communication with peers positively predicted pleasure expectancies and negatively predicted social risk expectancies. No other socializing agents were associated with any sexual expectancies. An invariance test found that significant correlations were similar across the different age groups. Results suggest that efforts to support positive sexual decision making among non-sexually active adolescents should target peer sexual communication.
