Abstract
The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans supports sitting less and moving more. Growing evidence suggests that a waking behavior profile with less sedentary behavior and more light-intensity physical activity is associated with more favorable cardiovascular health. Remarkably, little is known about how these behaviors relate to cardiovascular health during pregnancy. The purpose of this American Heart Association science advisory is to describe the existing evidence on device-measured sedentary behavior and light-intensity physical activity in relation to cardiovascular health during pregnancy and to make specific calls to action for future research to improve health outcomes and to promote health equity. Outcomes included adverse pregnancy outcomes associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease and the American Heart Association's Life's Essential 8 health factor components (blood pressure, lipids, glucose, and gestational weight gain). Findings from observational studies are mixed, with preliminary evidence demonstrating an association between high sedentary behavior and increased risk of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, shorter gestational age at delivery, low or high birth weight, and elevated maternal blood pressure, lipids, glucose, and gestational weight gain. Findings for light-intensity physical activity are limited by fewer studies and are less compelling. Experimental evidence evaluating the impact of decreasing sedentary behavior or increasing light-intensity physical activity on pregnancy cardiovascular health is weak. Future observational studies with rigorous longitudinal designs and larger, diverse samples are needed to characterize associations and to inform the design of adequately powered randomized controlled trials testing the impact of decreasing sedentary behavior and increasing light-intensity physical activity on cardiovascular health during pregnancy.

Abstract
Objectives: To assess the associations of sedentary behavior (SB) with sleep quality and duration in pregnant women by trimesters and to consider SB domains and patterns. Methods: This investigation included 935 participants (age = 30.0 ± 5.6 years; first trimester = 24.1%, second trimester = 33.9%, third trimester = 42.0%). The total, domains (leisure, occupational, commuting), and patterns (weekdays, weekends) of SB, as well as sleep quality and duration, were self-reported. Adjusted logistic regression models examined the associations of different SBs with the risk of poor sleep quality, not adhering to sleep duration guidelines (7-9 h/day), or being a short- or long-sleeper. Results: The odds of poor sleep quality were significantly higher by 14.2% and 7.4% for each hour increase in total and leisure SB on weekends, respectively. The odds of not adhering to sleep duration guidelines were significantly higher by 5.5% and 11.4% for each hour increase in total and leisure SB during weekdays, respectively; paradoxically, the odds of not complying with the sleep duration guidelines were significantly lower, ranging between 6.6% and 34.4% for each hour increase in total, leisure, or commuting SB on weekends. Further, when analyzed separately, the likelihood of being a short- or long-sleeper was highly variable across SB domains, with associations being more apparent in the first and third trimesters. Conclusions: The relationship between SB and healthy sleep during pregnancy was complex. These variable findings underscore the importance of considering domains and patterns of SB beyond simple total durations in future research to inform interventions and guidelines to improve sleep health during pregnancy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Antenatal physical activity (PA) is associated with beneficial changes in placental growth and function; however, the effect of excessive sitting time is less clear. The aim of this study was to investigate whether feto-placental growth changes with maternal activity, and whether these associations differ in a sex-specific manner. METHODS This study included women enrolled in the Queensland Family Cohort study who self-reported PA and sitting time at 24 or 36 weeks of gestation. Placental growth factors and feto-placental growth parameters at delivery were analysed by PA volume and sitting time, as well as by fetal sex. RESULTS Women who reported excessive sitting time during mid-pregnancy and had a female fetus showed higher placental PlGF (p = 0.031) and FLT1 (p = 0.032) mRNA expression with no difference in placental size at delivery. For the male, excessive sitting time during mid-pregnancy was associated with a lower placental weight (p = 0.001) and placental surface area (p = 0.012) and a higher birthweight to placental weight (BWPW) ratio (p = 0.042), with no change in placental growth factors. Moderate volume PA during mid-pregnancy was associated with lower VEGFA mRNA expression in the male placenta (p = 0.005) and a higher abdominal circumference in the female neonate (p = 0.042), with no overall difference in placental weight or birthweight for either sex. CONCLUSIONS The results of this study suggest that mid-pregnancy may be an important timepoint for programming of feto-placental growth in relation to maternal activity. Our findings highlight the independent benefits of reducing sitting time during pregnancy, particularly for women carrying male fetuses.

Abstract
Though physical activity (PA) is recommended during pregnancy, it remains unclear how occupational physical activity (OPA) and sedentary behavior (SB) contribute to activity patterns and health during pregnancy. The purpose of this secondary analysis was to determine if OPA pattern is a determinant of all-day PA and evaluate associations with pregnancy/infant health outcomes. Data was from two prospective cohorts with study visits each trimester: MoM Health (Pittsburgh, PA; n = 120) and PRAMS (Iowa City, Iowa; n = 20). Using employment status/job hours (self-reported in demographic questionnaires) and OPA from the Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire, latent class analysis identified three groups: sitting (n = 61), part-time mixed (n = 9), and active (n = 29). A fourth group included non-working participants (n = 32). Device-based PA (ActiGraph GT3X), SB (activPAL3 micro), and blood pressure were measured each trimester. Glucose screening test, gestational age, gestational weight gain, adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs: gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, intrauterine growth restriction, and preterm birth), and infant outcomes (length, weight, and sex) were abstracted from medical records. Associations between groups with APOs and pregnancy/infant health were calculated using linear/logistic regression with adjustment for age, pre-pregnancy BMI, education, and race. Self-reported participant characteristics were similar across groups, except education which was higher in the sitting versus other groups. All-day device-based PA differed across groups; for example, the sitting group had the highest SB across trimester (all p<0.01) while the active group had the highest steps per day across trimesters (all p<0.01). Pregnancy/infant health did not differ between groups (all p>0.09). Compared to the non-working group, the risk of any APO was non-significantly higher in the sitting (OR = 2.27, 95%CI = 0.63-8.18) and active groups (OR = 2.40, 95%CI = 0.66-9.75), though not the part-time mixed (OR = 0.86, 95%CI = 0.08-9.1). OPA pattern is a determinant of all-day PA during pregnancy. Future studies with larger samples should examine associations between pregnancy OPA patterns and pregnancy/infant health.

Abstract
In recent years, the number of pregnant women with obesity has increased exponentially; thus, it is important to evaluate and characterize the physical activity levels of this specific group. The aim of this study is to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Portuguese version of the Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire and Pregnancy Questionnaire in pregnant women with obesity and to classify physical activity using the Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire and accelerometry. An analytical observational study was carried out between May and August of 2019 at the University Hospital Center of São João, with a sample of 31 pregnant women with obesity (30.9 ± 4.6 years 36.5 ± 4.6 kg/m2 of BMI and 21.5 ± 9 gestational weeks). The physical activity of participants was evaluated using an accelerometer and Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire at two time points (the first visit at the moment of consultation and the second seven days after, with accelerometer retest), the interclass correlation coefficient was used to test reliability between the Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire filled out at visit1 and the Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire filled out at visit2, and Pearson's correlation was used to determine validity between the Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire and accelerometry. The interclass correlation coefficient values for total activity were 0.95, 0.97 for moderate and 0.58 for vigorous intensities. It ranged from 0.74 for sports/exercise to 0.96 for domestic activities. The Pearson's correlations showed that the Physical Activity and Pregnancy Questionnaire is moderately valid for moderate intensity (r = 0.435). A total of 67.7% of the pregnant women complied with international physical activity recommendations.
