Abstract
In this study, an integer-order rabies model is converted into the fractional-order epidemic model. To this end, the Caputo fractional-order derivatives are plugged in place of the classical derivatives. The positivity and boundedness of the fractional-order mathematical model is investigated by applying Laplace transformation and its inversion. To study the qualitative behavior of the non-integer rabies model, two steady states and the basic reproductive number of the underlying model are worked out. The local and global stability is investigated at both the steady states of the fractional-order epidemic model. After analytic treatment, a structure-preserving numerical template is constructed to numerically solve the fractional-order epidemic model. Moreover, the positivity, boundedness and symmetry of the numerical scheme are examined. Lastly, numerical experiment and simulations are accomplished to substantiate the significant traits of the projected numerical design. Consequences of the study are highlighted in the closing section.

Abstract
We propose a Caputo-based fractional compartmental model for the dynamics of the novel COVID-19 pandemic. The newly proposed nonlinear fractional order model is an extension of a recently formulated integer-order COVID-19 mathematical model. Using basic concepts such as continuity and Banach fixed-point theorem, existence and uniqueness of the solution to the proposed model were shown. Furthermore, we analyze the stability of the model in the context of Ulam-Hyers and generalized Ulam-Hyers stability criteria. The concept of next-generation matrix was used to compute the basic reproduction number R0, a number that determines the spread or otherwise of the disease into the general population. We also investigated the local asymptotic stability for the derived disease-free equilibrium point. Numerical simulation of the constructed epidemic model was carried out using the fractional Adam-Bashforth-Moulton method to validate the obtained theoretical results.

Efficacy of the Post-Exposure Prophylaxis and of the HIV Latent Reservoir in HIV Infection. MATHEMATICS 2019. Abstract
We propose a fractional order model to study the efficacy of the Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) within-host dynamics, in the presence of the HIV latent reservoir. Latent reservoirs harbor infected cells that contain a transcriptionally silent but reactivatable provirus. The latter constitutes a major difficulty to the eradication of HIV in infected patients. PEP is used as a way to prevent HIV infection after a recent possible exposure to HIV. It consists of the in-take of antiretroviral drugs for, usually, 28 days. In this study, we focus on the dosage and dosage intervals of antiretroviral therapy (ART) during PEP and in the role of the latent reservoir in HIV infected patients. We thus simulate the model for immunologically important parameters concerning the drugs and the fraction of latently infected cells. The results may add important information to clinical practice of HIV infected patients.

Abstract
Memory has a great impact on the evolution of every process related to human societies. Among them, the evolution of an epidemic is directly related to the individuals' experiences. Indeed, any real epidemic process is clearly sustained by a non-Markovian dynamics: memory effects play an essential role in the spreading of diseases. Including memory effects in the susceptible-infected-recovered (SIR) epidemic model seems very appropriate for such an investigation. Thus, the memory prone SIR model dynamics is investigated using fractional derivatives. The decay of long-range memory, taken as a power-law function, is directly controlled by the order of the fractional derivatives in the corresponding nonlinear fractional differential evolution equations. Here we assume "fully mixed" approximation and show that the epidemic threshold is shifted to higher values than those for the memoryless system, depending on this memory "length" decay exponent. We also consider the SIR model on structured networks and study the effect of topology on threshold points in a non-Markovian dynamics. Furthermore, the lack of access to the precise information about the initial conditions or the past events plays a very relevant role in the correct estimation or prediction of the epidemic evolution. Such a "constraint" is analyzed and discussed.
