Significance of Thermal Slip and Convective Boundary Conditions in Three Dimensional Rotating Darcy-Forchheimer Nanofluid Flow

This article is concerned with the nanofluid flow in a rotating frame under the simultaneous effects of thermal slip and convective boundary conditions. Arrhenius activation energy is another important aspect of the present study. Flow phenomena solely rely on the Darcy–Forchheimer-type porous medium in three-dimensional space to tackle the symmetric behavior of viscous terms. The stretching sheet is assumed to drive the fluid. Buongiorno’s model is adopted to see the features of Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis on the basis of symmetry fundamentals. Governing equations are modeled and transformed into ordinary differential equations by suitable transformations. Solutions are obtained through the numerical RK45-scheme, reporting the important findings graphically. The outputs indicate that larger values of stretching reduce the fluid velocity. Both the axial and transverse velocity fields undergo much decline due to strong retardation produced by the Forchheimer number. The thermal radiation parameter greatly raises the thermal state of the field. The temperature field rises for a stronger reaction within the fluid flow, however reducing for an intensive quantity of activation energy. A declination in the concentration profile is noticed for stronger thermophoresis. The Forchheimer number and porosity factors result in the enhancement of the skin friction, while both slip parameters result in a decline of skin friction. The thermal slip factor results in decreasing both the heat and mass flux rates. The study is important in various industrial applications of nanofluids including the electro-chemical industry, the polymer industry, geophysical setups, geothermal setups, catalytic reactors, and many others.

3-D magnetohydrodynamic AA7072-AA7075/methanol hybrid nanofluid flow above an uneven thickness surface with slip effect

A 3-D magnetohydrodynamic flow of hybrid nanofluid across a stretched plane of non-uniform thickness with slip effects is studied. We pondered aluminum alloys of AA7072 and AA7072 + AA7075 in methanol liquid. The aluminum alloys amalgamated in this study are uniquely manufactured materials, possessing enhanced heat transfer features. AA7072 alloy is a composite mixture of Aluminum & Zinc in the ratio 98 & 1 respectively with added metals Silicon, ferrous and Copper. Equally, AA7075 is a mixture of Aluminum, Zinc, Magnesium, and Copper in the ratio of ~90, ~6, ~3 and ~1 respectively with added metals Silicon ferrous and Magnesium. Numerical solutions are attained using R-K based shooting scheme. Role of physical factors on the flow phenomenon are analyzed and reflected by plots and numerical interpretations. Results ascertain that heat transfer rate of the hybrid nanoliquid is considerably large as matched by the nanofluid. The impact of Lorentz force is less on hybrid nanofluid when equated with nanofluid. Also, the wall thickness parameter tends to improve the Nusselt number of both the solutions.

Entropy Generation and Consequences of Binary Chemical Reaction on MHD Darcy-Forchheimer Williamson Nanofluid Flow Over Non-Linearly Stretching Surface

The current article aims to present a numerical analysis of MHD Williamson nanofluid flow maintained to flow through porous medium bounded by a non-linearly stretching flat surface. The second law of thermodynamics was applied to analyze the fluid flow, heat and mass transport as well as the aspects of entropy generation using Buongiorno model. Thermophoresis and Brownian diffusion is considered which appears due to the concentration and random motion of nanoparticles in base fluid, respectively. Uniform magnetic effect is induced but the assumption of tiny magnetic Reynolds number results in zero magnetic induction. The governing equations (PDEs) are transformed into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) using appropriately adjusted transformations. The numerical method is used for solving the so-formulated highly nonlinear problem. The graphical presentation of results highlights that the heat flux receives enhancement for augmented Brownian diffusion. The Bejan number is found to be increasing with a larger Weissenberg number. The tabulated results for skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are given. A decent agreement is noted in the results when compared with previously published literature on Williamson nanofluids.

Interaction of Wu’s Slip Features in Bioconvection of Eyring Powell Nanoparticles with Activation Energy

The current continuation aim is to explore the rheological consequences of Eyring Powell nanofluid over a moving surface in the presence of activation energy and thermal radiation. The bioconvection of magnetized nanoparticles is executed with the evaluation of motile microorganism. The most interesting Wu’s slip effects are also assumed near the surface. The evaluation of nanoparticles for current flow problems has been examined by using Buongiorno’s model. The governing equations for the assumed flow problem are constituted under the boundary layer assumptions. After converting these equations in dimensionless form, the famous shooting technique is executed. A detailed physical significance is searched out in the presence of slip features. The variation of physical quantities, namely velocity, nanoparticles temperature, nano particles concentration, motile microorganism density, skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number and motile organism density number are observed with detailed physical aspects for various flow controlling parameters.

On the MHD Casson Axisymmetric Marangoni Forced Convective Flow of Nanofluids

The proposed investigation concerns the impact of inclined magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) in a Casson axisymmetric Marangoni forced convective flow of nanofluids. Axisymmetric Marangoni convective flow has been driven by concentration and temperature gradients due to an infinite disk. Brownian motion appears due to concentration of the nanosize metallic particles in a typical base fluid. Thermophoretic attribute and heat source are considered. The analysis of flow pattern is perceived in the presence of certain distinct fluid parameters. Using appropriate transformations, the system of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) is reduced into non-linear Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs). Numerical solution of this problem is achieved invoking Runge–Kutta fourth-order algorithm. To observe the effect of inclined MHD in axisymmetric Marangoni convective flow, some suitable boundary conditions are incorporated. To figure out the impact of heat/mass phenomena on flow behavior, different physical and flow parameters are addressed for velocity, concentration and temperature profiles with the aid of tables and graphs. The results indicate that Casson fluid parameter and angle of inclination of MHD are reducing factors for fluid movement; however, stronger Marangoni effect is sufficient to improve the velocity profile.

Stagnation Point Flow with Time-Dependent Bionanofluid Past a Sheet: Richardson Extrapolation Technique

The study of laminar flow of heat and mass transfer over a moving surface in bionanofluid is of considerable interest because of its importance for industrial and technological processes such as fabrication of bio-nano materials and thermally enhanced media for bio-inspired fuel cells. Hence, the present work deals with the unsteady bionanofluid flow, heat and mass transfer past an impermeable stretching/shrinking sheet. The appropriate similarity solutions transform the boundary layer equations with three independent variables to a system of ordinary differential equations with one independent variable. The finite difference coupled with the Richardson extrapolation technique in the Maple software solves the reduced system, numerically. The rate of heat transfer is found to be higher when the flow is decelerated past a stretching sheet. It is understood that the state of shrinking sheet limits the rate of heat transfer and the density of the motile microorganisms in the stagnation region.
