Abstract
Photographs of labeled bone regions measured planimetrically showed statistically significant differences in the values for bone formation in sutural and nonsutural sections, in different regions, and in different age and sex groups.

Abstract
A surface planimeter was used to assess tetracycline-labeled regions of undecalcified sections of the palates of ten male guinea pigs. High to low values for labeled bone were found in the palatal alveolar process, the median palatine suture, and the basal bone, respectively. Also present were statistically significant age-associated differences.
