Der Doppelsuizid – Teil 2: rechtsmedizinische und kriminalistische Aspekte

Einleitung

Begehen zwei Menschen infolge einer gemeinsamen Entscheidung Suizid, wird dies als Doppelsuizid oder gemeinschaftlicher Suizid definiert. Die rechtsmedizinische Begutachtung hängt von den Umständen des konkreten Einzelfalls ab und kann für die rechtliche Würdigung insbesondere bei Konstellationen, bei denen ein Beteiligter überlebt hat, wichtige Hinweise liefern.

Material und Methoden

Für einen 25-Jahres-Zeitraum von 1995 bis 2019 wurden retrospektiv alle Sektionsfälle mit vollendeten und versuchten Doppelsuiziden analysiert und, soweit erhältlich, mit den Ermittlungsakten abgeglichen.

Ergebnisse

Unter den erhobenen 23 Doppelsuizidfällen fanden sich 16 vollendete sowie 7 Fälle mit jeweils einem Überlebenden. In 83 % der Fälle handelte es sich um Ehepaare bzw. eingetragene Lebensgemeinschaften, in 13 % um Personen, die sich zuvor in einer psychiatrischen Einrichtung, und in 4 % um Personen, die sich in einem „Suizidforum“ im Internet kennengelernt hatten. Der Mittelwert des Sterbealters betrug bei den Männern 57,8 und bei den Frauen 63,4 Jahre. In etwa zwei Drittel der Fälle wurden Erkrankungen als vorherrschendes Suizidmotiv angegeben. Als häufigste Methode wurde eine Intoxikation gewählt. Am zweithäufigsten fanden Schusswaffen Anwendung, wobei ausnahmslos der Mann zuerst einen oder mehrere Kopfschüsse auf seine Frau abgab, bevor er sich suizidierte. Der häufigste Sterbe- und Auffindeort war das gemeinsame Bett der Suizidenten.

Diskussion

Im Gegensatz zu Suiziden i. Allg. wurden die Doppelsuizide am häufigsten mittels einer Intoxikation als sogenannte weiche Methode verübt. In Anlehnung an die rechtsmedizinische Literatur werden für einen Doppelsuizid typische Merkmale herausgearbeitet.

Schlussfolgerung

Doppelsuizide stellen seltene Fälle in der rechtsmedizinischen Praxis dar, wobei die Abgrenzung zu einem erweiterten Suizid (Homizid-Suizid) schwierig werden kann und zugleich unabdingbar ist. Hierfür ist eine ganzheitliche Berücksichtigung der Vorgeschichte, der rechtsmedizinisch erhobenen Befunde und der kriminalistischen Umstände erforderlich.

Inter-caste lovers' suicide pact - Case report from Nepal

Discrimination on cultural and ethnic grounds is a crime in Nepal. [Caste Based Discrimination and Untouchability (Offence and Punishment) Act, 2068 (2011) * * There are two different dates which reflect the Bikram Sambat which is the official Hindu calendar in Nepal. This calendar is 57 years ahead of Gregorian calendar. For example, 19 August 2017 AD is 03 Bhadra 2074 Bikram Sambat. Thus, the date 2068 is in Bikram Sambat, 2011 is per Gregorian calendar which is unofficial so kept in parenthesis. However, cases of caste-based discrimination continue and have been reported in the newspapers. They occur because most families refuse to accept inter-caste marriages in Nepal as they fear they will become social outcasts. We present a tragic case where a young couple in their 20s made a pact to end their lives by jumping from Nepal's highest suspension bridge. Preliminary police investigation suggested their inter-caste relationship was the reason.

Folie à Deux in Children

The factors that predispose to suicide pacts strongly parallel those factors that predispose to folie à deux, a phenomenon in which psychoses transfer from a mentally ill person to a mentally healthier one. Review of recent literature reveals scant coverage of the joint occurrence of these phenomena, especially between children. This article presents a case study of two brothers who possibly represent a rare instance of folie à deux and subsequent suicide pact between children. Discussion following the case study targets the role of separation in the treatment of folie à deux and uncertainties in diagnosing suicide pacts among children.

Suicide pact by drowning with bound wrists: a case of medico-legal importance

Suicide pacts are uncommon and mainly committed by male-female pairs in a consortial relationship. The victims frequently choose methods such as hanging, poisoning, using a firearm, etc; however, a case of a suicide pact by drowning is rare in forensic literature. We report a case where a male and a female, both young adults, in a relationship of adopted "brother of convenience" were found drowned in a river. The victims were bound together at their wrists which helped with our conclusion this was a suicide pact. The medico-legal importance of wrist binding in drowning cases is also discussed in this article.

Suicide pacts: six cases and literature review

A suicide pact is the decision of two or more people to die together. This event is rare. The majority of suicide pacts victims are married, socially isolated, with a serious physical illness in one or both partners. We performed a retrospective study of all cases of suicide pacts leading to death between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2010 referred to the Forensic Medicine Department of Tours (France). Six cases were recorded as suicide pacts. Firearms were the preferred means of death. Five suicide notes were discovered. For some cases, it was difficult to establish whether death was the result of a suicide pact or of a homicide-suicide without the consent of the victim. An objective element, such as a suicide note and motive, is required to prove that a suicide pact is involved. The prevalence of mental disorders is hard to assess. In France, psychological autopsies are not performed in such cases, as the investigation is usually very sparse after the death of both individuals.
