Abstract
We previously showed that a fully automated voice recognition analog of the Symbol Digit Modalities Test (VR-SDMT) is sensitive in detecting processing speed deficits in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). We subsequently developed a French language version and administered it to 49 French-Canadian pwMS and 29 matched healthy control (HC) subjects. Significant correlations between the VR-SDMT and traditional oral SDMT were found in the MS (r = -0.716, p < 0.001) and HC (r = -0.623, p < 0.001) groups. These findings in French replicate our previous findings and confirm the utility of voice recognition software in assessing cognition in pwMS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Social support is a protective factor against cognitive decline in the general population. However, the relationship between social support and cognitive functioning among persons with multiple sclerosis (MS) is not well understood. OBJECTIVE The present study aimed to investigate the associations between different aspects of social support and cognitive performance among persons with MS. METHODS A volunteer sample of 60 persons with MS completed the Medical Outcomes Study Support Social Survey 5-item short form (MSSS-5) and the Social Network Index (SNI). Cognitive functioning was assessed through a virtually-administered neuropsychological battery. Multiple linear regressions were conducted to examine the associations between social support measures and cognitive performance. RESULTS In models adjusting for level of premorbid functioning, both perceived social support (i.e., to what extent one receives assistance from their social network; p = .002) and total size of social network (i.e., total number of people one regularly talks to; p = .002) were significant predictors of processing speed/executive functioning with moderate effect sizes. However, when we accounted for employment status in a post hoc analysis, the association between social network size and processing speed/executive functioning became statistically insignificant, while the relationship between perceived social support and processing speed/executive functioning remained significant (p = .002). CONCLUSIONS Greater perceived social support is associated with better performance on processing speed/executive functioning measures among persons with MS, independent of effects from premorbid functioning and employment status. Maintaining a strong social support network may be an important factor in optimizing cognitive health in MS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Epidemiological studies do not provide accurate statistics on the percentage of breastfeeding women experiencing sexual dysfunctions and restraining from sexual activity. The data vary between 40% and 83% in the first group and 20-50% in the second one. Despite excessive studies on contributors to intimacy changes, breast feeding received little attention from researchers. The relationship between lactation and postpartum sexual dysfunctions remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis will synthesise available data and establish the link between breast feeding and sexuality problems. METHODS AND ANALYSIS A comprehensive literature search will be performed in biomedical databases PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, EMBASE and CINAHL. We will extract peer-reviewed original studies written in English, Arabic or Polish from 2000 to June 2023. We will also search for reports from international health organisations and local health authorities. The preliminary search was performed on 04 April 2023. The studies must provide data on dysfunction prevalence/incidence and the strength of the relationship between breast feeding and sexuality in generally healthy women. The Covidence software will be used to perform literature screening, data extraction and quality assessment of individual studies. We will use a random-effects model meta-analysis to calculate pooled weighted frequency measures and effect size. Between-study heterogeneity will be assessed with the I2 test. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION This meta-analysis does not require ethical approval because it synthesises data from previously published original studies. The final work will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and presented at scientific conferences. PROSPERO REGISTRATION NUMBER CRD42023411053.

Abstract
Cognitive impairment is a prevalent and debilitating symptom of multiple sclerosis (MS) but is not routinely addressed in clinical care. The Brief Cognitive Assessment for Multiple Sclerosis (BICAMS) was developed in 2012 to screen and monitor MS patients’ cognition. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify, synthesise, and critically appraise current BICAMS’ international validations. The literature search was conducted using PubMed, PsycINFO and Web of Science electronic databases in August 2022. Quantitative, peer-reviewed adult studies, which followed the BICAMS international validation protocol and were published in English, were included. The search identified a total of 203 studies, of which 26 were eligible for inclusion. These reported a total of 2833 adults with MS and 2382 healthy controls (HC). The meta-analysis showed that BICAMS identified impaired cognitive functioning in adults with MS compared to HC for all three subtests: information processing speed (g = 0.854, 95% CI = 0.765, 0.944, p < 0.001), immediate verbal recall (g = 0.566, 95% CI = 0.459, 0.673, p < 0.001) and immediate visual recall (g = 0.566, 95% CI = 0.487, 0.645, p < 0.001). Recruitment sites and strategies limit the generalisability of results. BICAMS is a valid and feasible international MS cognitive assessment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is evidence that subjective fatigue can influence cognitive functioning in multiple sclerosis (MS). DeLuca et al.'s (2004) Relative Consequence Model proposes that impairments to other high-level cognitive functions, such as memory, result from the disease's effect on information processing speed. OBJECTIVE The primary aims of the study were to investigate both 1) the relationship between subjective fatigue and cognitive functioning, as measured by the widely used Brief International Cognitive Assessment for Multiple Sclerosis (BICAMS) in MS; and 2) the consequential effect of fatigue on information processing speed as predicted by the Relative Consequence Model. METHODS 192 participants with MS attending tertiary referral MS centre completed the Modified Fatigue Impact Scale and BICAMS. RESULTS Multiple correlation analyses determined that there were statistically significant relationships between all domains assessed by the BICAMS and levels of fatigue, such that higher levels of self-reported fatigue were associated with lower performance on information-processing, and visual and verbal learning. After controlling for information processing speed, the strength of correlation between fatigue and learning performance weakened. Linear regression analysis showed that fatigue predicted the most variance in verbal learning and 11.7% of the overall variance in BICAMS performance. CONCLUSION Subjective fatigue and objective cognitive performance in MS are related. Caution is advised in the interpretation of BICAMS scores in cases where high levels of fatigue are present, and more detailed neuropsychological assessments may be required in order to accurately identify objective cognitive impairment independent of subjective fatigue.
