Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Delayed diagnosis of degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is likely due to a combination of its subtle symptoms, incomplete neurological assessments by clinicians and a lack of public and professional awareness. Diagnostic criteria for DCM will likely facilitate earlier referral for definitive management. OBJECTIVES This systematic review aims to determine (i) the diagnostic accuracy of various clinical signs and (ii) the association between clinical signs and disease severity in DCM? METHODS A search was performed to identify studies on adult patients that evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of a clinical sign used for diagnosing DCM. Studies were also included if they assessed the association between the presence of a clinical sign and disease severity. The QUADAS-2 tool was used to evaluate the risk of bias of individual studies. RESULTS This review identified eleven studies that used a control group to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of various signs. An additional 61 articles reported on the frequency of clinical signs in a cohort of DCM patients. The most sensitive clinical tests for diagnosing DCM were the Tromner and hyperreflexia, whereas the most specific tests were the Babinski, Tromner, clonus and inverted supinator sign. Five studies evaluated the association between the presence of various clinical signs and disease severity. There was no definite association between Hoffmann sign, Babinski sign or hyperreflexia and disease severity. CONCLUSION The presence of clinical signs suggesting spinal cord compression should encourage health care professionals to pursue further investigation, such as neuroimaging to either confirm or refute a diagnosis of DCM.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Systematic Reviews. OBJECTIVES To investigate predictors of surgical outcomes for mild Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM) by reviewing all related studies conducted at this point. METHODS An electronic search was carried out in PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and Web of Science until June 23, 2021. Full-text articles reporting surgical outcome predictors of mild DCM cases were eligible. We included studies with mild DCM which was defined as a modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association score of 15 to 17 or a Japanese Orthopaedic Association score of 13 to 16. Independent reviewers screened all the records, and discrepancies between the reviewers were solved in a session with the senior author. For risk of bias assessment, RoB 2 tool was used for randomized clinical trials and ROBINS-I for non-randomized studies. RESULTS After screening 6 087 manuscripts, only 8 studies met the inclusion criteria. Lower pre-operative mJOA scores and quality-of-life measurement scores were reported by multiple studies to predict better surgical outcomes compared to other groups. High-intensity pre-operative T2 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was also reported to predict poor outcomes. Neck pain before intervention resulted in improved patient-reported outcomes. Two studies also reported motor symptoms prior to surgery as outcome predictors. CONCLUSION Lower quality of life before surgery, neck pain, lower pre-operative mJOA scores, motor symptoms before surgery, female gender, gastrointestinal comorbidities, surgical procedure and surgeon's experience with specific techniques, and high signal intensity of cord in T2 MRI were the surgical outcome predictors reported in the literature. Lower Quality of Life (QoL) score and neck prior to surgery were reported as predictors of the more improved outcome, but high cord signal intensity in T2 MRI was reported as an unfavorable outcome predictor.

Abstract
BACKGROUND CONTEXT Existing degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) severity scales have significant shortcomings, creating a strong impetus for the development of a practical measurement tool with sound psychometric properties. PURPOSE This work reports the item generation and reduction of the Cervical Myelopathy Severity Index (CMSI), a new DCM patient-reported outcome measure of symptoms and functional limitations. DESIGN Prospective observational study. PATIENT SAMPLE Adult DCM patients belonging to one of three distinct treatment groups: (1) observation cohort, (2) preoperative surgical cohort, (3) 6 to 12 months postoperative cohort. OUTCOME MEASURES Patient-reported outcome measure of symptoms and functional limitations. METHODS Item generation was performed using semi-structured patient focus groups emphasizing symptoms experienced and functional limitations. Readability was assessed through think-aloud patient interviews. Item reduction involved surveys of DCM patients with a spectrum of disease severity and board-certified spine surgeons experienced in the treatment of DCM. A priori criteria for item removal included: patient median importance/severity <2 (of 4), 30% or more no severity (response of zero), item severity correlations ≤ 0.80 (Spearman), item severity reliability (weighted kappa <0.60) based on a 2-week interval and clinician median importance <2 with retention of items with very high clinical importance. RESULTS There were 42 items generated from a combination of specialist input and patient focus groups. Items captured sensorimotor symptoms and limitations related to upper and lower extremities as well as sphincter dysfunction. Ninety-eight patients (43, 30, 25 observation, pre- and postsurgery respectively) and 51 surgeons completed the assessment. Twenty-three items remained after application of median importance and severity thresholds and weighted kappa cutoffs. After elimination of highly correlated (>0.80) items and combining two similar items, the final CMSI questionnaire list included 14 items. CONCLUSIONS The CMSI is a new DCM patient-reported clinical measurement tool developed using patient and clinician input to inform item generation and reduction. Future work will evaluate the reliability, validity, and responsiveness of the CMSI in relation to existing myelopathy measurement indices.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Functional status, pain, and quality of life usually improve after surgery for degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM), but a subset of patients report worsening. The objective was to define cutoff values for worsening on the Neck Disability Index (NDI) and identify prognostic factors associated with worsening of pain-related disability 12 months after DCM surgery. METHODS In this prognostic study based on prospectively collected data from the Norwegian Registry for Spine Surgery, the NDI was the primary outcome. Receiver operating characteristics curve analyses were used to obtain cutoff values, using the global perceived effect scale as an external anchor. Univariable and multivariable analyses were performed using mixed logistic regression to evaluate the relationship between potential prognostic factors and the NDI. RESULTS Among the 1508 patients undergoing surgery for myelopathy, 1248 (82.7%) were followed for either 3 or 12 months. Of these, 317 (25.4%) were classified to belong to the worsening group according to the mean NDI percentage change cutoff of 3.3. Multivariable analyses showed that smoking (odds ratio [OR] 3.4: 95% CI 1.2-9.5: P < .001), low educational level (OR 2.5: 95% CI 1.0-6.5: P < .001), and American Society of Anesthesiologists grade >II (OR 2.2: 95% CI 0.7-5.6: P = .004) were associated with worsening. Patients with more severe neck pain (OR 0.8: 95% CI 0.7-1.0: P = .003) and arm pain (OR 0.8: 95% CI 0.7-1.0; P = .007) at baseline were less likely to report worsening. CONCLUSION We defined a cutoff value of 3.3 for worsening after DCM surgery using the mean NDI percentage change. The independent prognostic factors associated with worsening of pain-related disability were smoking, low educational level, and American Society of Anesthesiologists grade >II. Patients with more severe neck and arm pain at baseline were less likely to report worsening at 12 months.

Abstract
Introduction Degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is a form of chronic spinal cord injury, with a natural history of potential for progression over time. Whilst driven by mechanical stress on the spinal cord from degenerative and congenital pathology, the neurological phenotype of DCM is likely to be modified by multiple systemic factors. The role of metabolic factors is therefore of interest, particularly given that ischaemia is considered a key pathological mechanism of spinal cord injury. The objective was therefore to synthesise current evidence on the effect of metabolism on DCM susceptibility, severity, and surgical outcomes. Methods A systematic review in MEDLINE and Embase was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Full-text papers in English, with a focus on DCM and metabolism, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, anaemia, and lipid profile, were eligible for inclusion. Risk of methodological bias was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical assessment tools. Quality assessments were performed using the GRADE assessment tool. Patient demographics, metabolic factors and the relationships between metabolism and spinal cord disease, spinal column disease and post-operative outcomes were assessed. Results In total, 8,523 papers were identified, of which 57 met criteria for inclusion in the final analysis. A total of 91% (52/57) of included papers assessed the effects of diabetes in relation to DCM, of which 85% (44/52) reported an association with poor surgical outcomes; 42% of papers (24/57) discussed the association between cardiovascular health and DCM, of which 88% (21/24) reported a significant association. Overall, DCM patients with diabetes or cardiovascular disease experienced greater perioperative morbidity and poorer neurological recovery. They were also more likely to have comorbidities such as obesity and hyperlipidaemia. Conclusion Metabolic factors appear to be associated with surgical outcomes in DCM. However, evidence for a more specific role in DCM susceptibility and severity is uncertain. The pathophysiology and natural history of DCM are critical research priorities; the role of metabolism is therefore a key area for future research focus. Abstract
BACKGROUND Degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) arises from spinal degenerative changes injuring the cervical spinal cord. Most cord compression is incidental, referred to as asymptomatic spinal cord compression (ASCC). How and why ASCC differs from DCM is poorly understood. In this paper, we study a local cohort to identify specific types and groups of degenerative pathology more likely associated with DCM than ASCC. METHODS This study was a retrospective cohort analysis (IRB Approval ID: PRN10455). The frequency of degenerative findings between those with ASCC and DCM patients were compared using network analysis, hierarchical clustering, and comparison to existing literature to identify potential subgroups in a local cohort (N = 155) with MRI-defined cervical spinal cord compression. Quantitative measures of spinal cord compression (MSCC and MCC) were used to confirm their relevance. RESULTS ELF (8.7 %, 95 % CI 3.8-13.6 % vs 35.7 %, 95 % CI 27.4-44.0 %) Congenital Stenosis (3.9 %, 95 % CI 0.6-7.3 % vs 25.0 %, 95 % CI 17.5-32.5 %), and OPLL (0.0 %, 95 % CI 0.0-0.0 % vs 3.6 %, 95 % CI 0.3-6.8 %) were more likely in patients with DCM. Comparative network analysis indicated loss of lordosis was associated with ASCC, whilst ELF with DCM. Hierarchical Cluster Analysis indicated four sub-groups: multi-level disc disease with ELF, single-level disc disease without loss of lordosis and OPLL with DCM, and single-level disc disease with loss of lordosis with ASCC. Quantitative measures of cord compression were higher in groups associated with DCM, but similar in patients with single-level disc disease and loss of lordosis. CONCLUSIONS This study identified four subgroups based on degenerative pathology requiring further investigation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Health care decisions are a critical determinant in the evolution of chronic illness. In shared decision-making (SDM), patients and clinicians work collaboratively to reach evidence-based health decisions that align with individual circumstances, values, and preferences. This personalized approach to clinical care likely has substantial benefits in the oversight of degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM), a type of nontraumatic spinal cord injury. Its chronicity, heterogeneous clinical presentation, complex management, and variable disease course engenders an imperative for a patient-centric approach that accounts for each patient's unique needs and priorities. Inadequate patient knowledge about the condition and an incomplete understanding of the critical decision points that arise during the course of care currently hinder the fruitful participation of health care providers and patients in SDM. This study protocol presents the rationale for deploying SDM for DCM and delineates the groundwork required to achieve this. OBJECTIVE The study's primary outcome is the development of a comprehensive checklist to be implemented upon diagnosis that provides patients with essential information necessary to support their informed decision-making. This is known as a core information set (CIS). The secondary outcome is the creation of a detailed process map that provides a diagrammatic representation of the global care workflows and cognitive processes involved in DCM care. Characterizing the critical decision points along a patient's journey will allow for an effective exploration of SDM tools for routine clinical practice to enhance patient-centered care and improve clinical outcomes. METHODS Both CISs and process maps are coproduced iteratively through a collaborative process involving the input and consensus of key stakeholders. This will be facilitated by Myelopathy.org, a global DCM charity, through its Research Objectives and Common Data Elements for Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy community. To develop the CIS, a 3-round, web-based Delphi process will be used, starting with a baseline list of information items derived from a recent scoping review of educational materials in DCM, patient interviews, and a qualitative survey of professionals. A priori criteria for achieving consensus are specified. The process map will be developed iteratively using semistructured interviews with patients and professionals and validated by key stakeholders. RESULTS Recruitment for the Delphi consensus study began in April 2023. The pilot-testing of process map interview participants started simultaneously, with the formulation of an initial baseline map underway. CONCLUSIONS This protocol marks the first attempt to provide a starting point for investigating SDM in DCM. The primary work centers on developing an educational tool for use in diagnosis to enable enhanced onward decision-making. The wider objective is to aid stakeholders in developing SDM tools by identifying critical decision junctures in DCM care. Abstract
STUDY DESIGN A prospective observational study. OBJECTIVES To investigate preoperative prevalence of neurogenic bowel dysfunction and neurogenic bladder in patients with degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) and examine the degree and timing of symptom improvement after cervical decompression surgery. Factors contributing to symptom improvement were also analyzed. METHODS Among 75 patients with DCM who underwent cervical decompression, Constipation Scoring System (CSS) score, International Prostate Symptoms Score (IPSS), and Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score were assessed before surgery and 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after. Prevalence rates were calculated. Data regarding patient age, sex, disease status, disease duration, lesion level, and score changes was prospectively recorded and analyzed. RESULTS The prevalence rates of defecation and urinary dysfunction before surgery were 41.3% and 34.7%, respectively. Among the patients with defecation dysfunction, the number of patients who improved 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery was 10, 9, 9, and 6, respectively. Among the patients with urinary dysfunction, the corresponding number of patients was 12, 10, 11, and 11, respectively. None of the factors we examined were significantly associated with improvement in either CSS or IPSS score; however, improvement of lower extremity JOA score tended to be associated with improvement in both. CONCLUSIONS The prevalence of symptoms of defecation and urinary dysfunction in patients with DCM was 41.3% and 34.7%, respectively. Decompression surgery improved symptoms in 20% to 46% of patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic subdural haematoma (CSDH) is increasingly common. Although treatment is triaged and provided by neurosurgery, the role of non-operative care, alongside observed peri-operative morbidity and patient complexity, suggests that optimum care requires a multi-disciplinary approach. A UK consortium (Improving Care in Elderly Neurosurgery Initiative [ICENI]) has been formed to develop the first comprehensive clinical practice guideline. This starts by identifying critical questions to ask of the literature. The aim of this review was to consider whether existing systematic reviews had suitably addressed these questions. METHODS Critical research questions to inform CSDH care were identified using multi-stakeholder workshops, including patient and public representation. A CSDH umbrella review of full-text systematic reviews and meta-analysis was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA statement (CRD42022328562). Four databases were searched from inception up to 30 April 2022. Review quality was assessed using AMSTAR-2 criteria, mapped to critical research questions. RESULTS Forty-four critical research questions were identified, across 12 themes. Seventy-three articles were included in the umbrella review, comprising 206,369 patients. Most reviews (86.3%, n=63) assessed complications and recurrence after surgery. ICENI themes were not addressed in current literature, and duplication of reviews was common (54.8%, n=40). AMSTAR-2 confidence rating was high in 7 (9.6%) reviews, moderate in 8 (11.0%), low in 10 (13.7%) and critically low in 48 (65.8%). CONCLUSIONS The ICENI themes have yet to be examined in existing secondary CSDH literature, and a series of new reviews is now required to address these questions for a clinical practice guideline. There is a need to broaden and redirect research efforts to meet the organisation of services and clinical needs of individual patients.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AO Spine RECODE-DCM was a multi-stakeholder priority setting partnership (PSP) to define the top ten research priorities for degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM). Priorities were generated and iteratively refined using a series of surveys administered to surgeons, other healthcare professionals (oHCP) and people with DCM (PwDCM). The aim of this work was to utilise word clouds to enable the perspectives of people with the condition to be heard earlier in the PSP process than is traditionally the case. The objective was to evaluate the added value of word clouds in the process of defining research uncertainties in National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) James Lind Alliance (JLA) Priority Setting Partnerships. METHODS Patient-generated word clouds were created for the four survey subsections of the AO Spine RECODE-DCM PSP: diagnosis, treatment, long-term management and other issues. These were then evaluated as a nested methodological study. Word-clouds were created and iteratively refined by an online support group of people with DCM, before being curated by the RECODE-DCM management committee and expert healthcare professional representatives. The final word clouds were embedded within the surveys administered at random to 50% of participants. DCM research uncertainties suggested by participants were compared pre- and post-word cloud presentation. RESULTS A total of 215 (50.9%) participants were randomised to the word cloud stream, including 118 (55%) spinal surgeons, 52 (24%) PwDCM and 45 (21%) oHCP. Participants submitted 434 additional uncertainties after word cloud review: word count was lower and more uniform across each survey subsections compared to pre-word cloud uncertainties. Twenty-three (32%) of the final 74 PSP summary questions did not have a post-word cloud contribution and no summary question was formed exclusively on post-word cloud uncertainties. There were differences in mapping of pre- and post-word cloud uncertainties to summary questions, with greater mapping of post-word cloud uncertainties to the number 1 research question priority: raising awareness. Five of the final summary questions were more likely to map to the research uncertainties suggested by participants after having reviewed the word clouds. CONCLUSIONS Word clouds may increase the perspective of underrepresented stakeholders in the research question gathering stage of priority setting partnerships. This may help steer the process towards research questions that are of highest priority for people with the condition.

Zonisamide improves Fas/FasL-mediated apoptosis and inflammation in a degenerative cervical myelopathy rat model. Tissue Cell 2023; 81:102024. Abstract
Degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is a severe condition of the spinal cord caused by chronic compression. However, no studies to date have examined the effects of zonisamide (ZNS) on DCM via the Fas/FasL-mediated pathway. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of ZNS on a DCM rat model and to explore the potential mechanisms. First, 40 adult Sprague-Dawley rats were used to establish the DCM rat model and were individually divided into four groups: the Sham group, DCM model group (DCM), ZNS group (DCM model rats treated with ZNS, 30 mg/kg/day), and ZNS + CD95 group (DCM model rats treated with ZNS and CD95). Histopathology injury and cell apoptosis, Fas and Fas ligand (FasL) expression and Fas/FasL relative protein levels were detected by hematoxylin and eosin staining, TUNEL assay, and immunofluorescence and western blotting, respectively. The results of our study demonstrated that ZNS could promote motor recovery while reversing histopathological injury and cell apoptosis in DCM rats. Moreover, Iba-1, Fas and FasL expression in DCM rats was decreased, accompanied by a decrease in cleaved caspase-3/caspase-3, cleaved caspase-8/caspase-8, cleaved caspase-9/caspase-9, cleaved caspase-10/caspase-10 and B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2)/Bcl-2 associated X (Bax) levels. All these results revealed that ZNS attenuates DCM injury in a rat model via the regulation of Fas and FasL signaling. Our study indicated that ZNS had beneficial effects on DCM and thus provided a novel theoretical approach for subsequent academic and clinical research on DCM injury.

Abstract
PURPOSE Degenerative cervical myelopathy is a progressive slow-motion spinal cord injury. Surgery is the mainstay of treatment. Baseline disability predicts surgical recovery; therefore, timely treatment is critical to restoring function. However, current challenges mean most patients present with advanced disease and are instead left with life changing disabilities. While short-term mortality is rarely reported, the long-term effects of this on life expectancy are unknown, including whether function could be modifiable with timely treatment. This article investigates the effect of DCM on life expectancy. METHODS The survival of patients from an observational study of patients undergoing surgery from 1994 to 2007 was compared to their expected survival using a gender- and aged -matched cohort. Comparisons were made by one sample log-rank test and standardised mortality ratios. Factors associated with survival were explored using a Cox regression analysis, including disease severity. RESULTS A total of 357 patients were included in the analysis. After a median follow-up of 15.3 years, 135 of 349 patients had died; 114.7 deaths would have been expected. The DCM cohort had an increased risk of death compared to the non-DCM cohort (standardised mortality ratio 1.18 [95% CI: 1.02-1.34]. Age at operation 1.08 (95% CI: 1.07 to 1.1, p < 0.001) and severe DCM 1.6 (95% CI: 1.06 to 2.3, p = 0.02) were associated with worse survival (N = 287). In those surviving at least 2 years after surgery, only severe DCM was associated with conditional survival (HR 1.6, 95% CI 1.04 2.4, p = 0.03). CONCLUSION Life expectancy is reduced in those undergoing surgery for DCM. This is driven by premature mortality among those left with severe disability. As disability can be reduced with timely treatment, these findings reinforce the need for collective and global action to raise awareness of DCM and enable early diagnosis.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Systematic review. BACKGROUND Although degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is the most prevalent spinal cord condition worldwide, the pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Our objective was to evaluate existing histological findings of DCM on cadaveric human spinal cord tissue and explore their consistency with animal models. METHODS MEDLINE and Embase were systematically searched (CRD42021281462) for primary research reporting on histological findings of DCM in human cadaveric spinal cord tissue. Data was extracted using a piloted proforma. Risk of bias was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tools. Findings were compared to a systematic review of animal models (Ahkter et al. 2020 Front Neurosci 14). RESULTS The search yielded 4127 unique records. After abstract and full-text screening, 19 were included in the final analysis, reporting on 150 autopsies (71% male) with an average age at death of 67.3 years. All findings were based on haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. The most commonly reported grey matter findings included neuronal loss and cavity formation. The most commonly reported white matter finding was demyelination. Axon loss, gliosis, necrosis and Schwann cell proliferation were also reported. Findings were consistent amongst cervical spondylotic myelopathy and ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. Cavitation was notably more prevalent in human autopsies compared to animal models. CONCLUSION Few human spinal cord tissue studies have been performed. Neuronal loss, demyelination and cavitation were common findings. Investigating the biological basis of DCM is a critical research priority. Human spinal cord specimen may be an underutilised but complimentary approach.

Abstract
Objective Early detection and intervention are essential for the mitigation of degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM). However, although several screening methods exist, they are difficult to understand for community-dwelling people, and the equipment required to set up the test environment is expensive. This study investigated the viability of a DCM-screening method based on the 10-second grip-and-release test using a machine learning algorithm and a smartphone equipped with a camera to facilitate a simple screening system. Methods Twenty-two participants comprising a group of DCM patients and 17 comprising a control group participated in this study. A spine surgeon diagnosed the presence of DCM. Patients performing the 10-second grip-and-release test were filmed, and the videos were analyzed. The probability of the presence of DCM was estimated using a support vector machine algorithm, and sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC) were calculated. Two assessments of the correlation between estimated scores were conducted. The first used a random forest regression model and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores for cervical myelopathy (C-JOA). The second assessment used a different model, random forest regression, and the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) questionnaire. Results The final classification model had a sensitivity of 90.9%, specificity of 88.2%, and AUC of 0.93. The correlations between each estimated score and the C-JOA and DASH scores were 0.79 and 0.67, respectively. Conclusions The proposed model could be a helpful screening tool for DCM as it showed excellent performance and high usability for community-dwelling people and non-spine surgeons.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Progress in degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is hindered by inconsistent measurement and reporting. This impedes data aggregation and outcome comparison across studies. This limitation can be reversed by developing a core measurement set (CMS) for DCM research. Previously, the AO Spine Research Objectives and Common Data Elements for DCM (AO Spine RECODE-DCM) defined 'what' should be measured in DCM: the next step of this initiative is to determine 'how' to measure these features. This protocol outlines the steps necessary for the development of a CMS for DCM research and audit. METHODS AND ANALYSIS The CMS will be developed in accordance with the guidance developed by the Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials and the Consensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement Instruments. The process involves five phases. In phase 1, the steering committee agreed on the constructs to be measured by sourcing consensus definitions from patients, professionals and the literature. In phases 2 and 3, systematic reviews were conducted to identify tools for each construct and aggregate their evidence. Constructs with and without tools were identified, and scoping reviews were conducted for constructs without tools. Evidence on measurement properties, as well as on timing of assessments, are currently being aggregated. These will be presented in phase 4: a consensus meeting where a multi-disciplinary panel of experts will select the instruments that will form the CMS. Following selection, guidance on the implementation of the CMS will be developed and disseminated (phase 5). A preliminary CMS review scheduled at 4 years from release. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethical approval was obtained from the University of Cambridge (HBREC2019.14). Dissemination strategies will include peer-reviewed scientific publications; conference presentations; podcasts; the identification of AO Spine RECODE-DCM ambassadors; and engagement with relevant journals, funders and the DCM community.
