Abstract
Background Uterine leiomyosarcoma(uLMS) is a rare malignant tumor with low clinical specificity and poor prognosis.There are many studies related to uLMS, however, there is still a lack of metrological analyses with generalization. This study provides a bibliometric study of uLMS. Methods and materials We chose the Web of Science (WoS) as our main database due to its extensive interdisciplinary coverage. We specifically focused on the literature from the last 20 years to ensure relevance and practicality. By utilizing the WOS core dataset and leveraging the R package "bibliometric version 4.1.0" and Citespace, we performed a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. This allowed us to pinpoint research hotspots and create visual representations, resulting in the retrieval of 2489 pertinent articles. Results This literature review covers 2489 articles on uterine leiomyosarcoma (uLMS) from the past 20 years. Key findings include an average annual publication rate of 8.75, with a 6.07% yearly growth rate and an average citation count of 17.22. Core+Zone 2 sources contributed 1079 articles and 207 reviews, displaying a 4.98% annual growth rate. The analysis identified top journals, influential authors, and core sources, such as the prevalence of publications from the United States and the dominance of GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY and HENSLEY ML. Bradford's Law and Lotka's Law highlighted core sources and author productivity, respectively. Thematic mapping and factorial analysis revealed research clusters, including etiology, diagnosis, treatment advancements, and surgical approaches, with prominent themes such as gemcitabine and docetaxel. Overall, this comprehensive analysis provides insights into uLMS literature trends and influential factors. Conclusion This thorough bibliometric analysis, in its whole, illuminates the field's guiding principles while also revealing the subtle patterns within the uLMS literature. The knowledge gained here contributes to the current discussion in uLMS and related scientific fields and provides a solid basis for future research paths.

Abstract
Background Leiomyosarcoma usually develops in the myometrium and is characterized by a high recurrence rate, frequent hematogenous dissemination, and poor prognosis. Metastasis is usually to lungs, liver, and bone, and occasionally to the brain, but seldom to the head and neck region. Primary leiomyosarcoma very rarely arises in the broad ligament. Case presentation A 54-year old woman presented to the otolaryngology department with a mass in the right posterior region of the neck 4 years after surgery for a primary leiomyosarcoma of the right broad ligament. The neck mass was removed and found to be a metastatic leiomyosarcoma. Leiomyosarcoma localizations in lungs and liver were absent. Morphological examination showed both the primary and the secondary leiomyosarcomas to have features of low-grade tumors. One year after excision of the neck mass, the patient presented with tachycardia. Echocardiography detected two intracardiac nodules suggestive of metastatic tumors. Chemotherapy was administered; the disease has been stable since then. Conclusions We report the first case of broad ligament leiomyosarcoma with the neck subcutaneous region being the first site of secondary involvement. We speculate that the Batson venous plexus might have been the pathway of dissemination.

Abstract
Sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal tumors which can affect bone and soft tissue. Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a rare subtype localized to the skin or subcutaneous tissue. Due to the heterogeneity of sarcomas, reviews and guidelines with an in-depth focus specifically on primary LMS of the skin are sparse. This article is intended to provide an up to date and systematic overview on diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance of this rare entity to provide a framework for decision making and management for dermato-oncologists. We discuss novel treatment options for advanced disease such as targeted therapy with kinase inhibitors and immune checkpoint blockade which may improve the prognosis even in advanced stages of LMS.

Abstract
Gynaecological leiomyosarcoma (gLMS) represent a heterogeneous group of soft tissue sarcoma, characterized by rare incidence, high aggressiveness and propensity to infiltrate secondary organs, poor prognosis and lethality, because of the lack of biological mechanisms that underlying their progression and effective pharmaceutical treatments. This study was focused on some of the aspects of progression and dissemination of a subtype of gLMS namely vulvar LMS (vLMS). We therefore used a vulvar LMS-derived cell line namely SK-LMS-1, coupled with in vitro and in vivo assays. We observed that SK-LMS-1 cells have a strong invasive capacity in vitro, through the activity of matrix metalloproteinases 2 and 9, while in vivo these cells induce a strong angiogenic response and disseminate to the chick embryo liver. Therefore, we postulate that metalloproteinases are involved in the spreading behaviour of SK-LMS-1. Further investigations are necessary to better understand the molecular and cellular machinery involved in the progression of this malignancy.

Abstract
Uterine leiomyosarcoma is a rare uterine malignancy that arises from the smooth muscles of uterine wall. It accounts for only 1-2% of uterine malignancies. We report a case of a 60-year-old female who presented with postmenopausal bleeding and was diagnosed later to be a case of leiomyosarcoma of uterus. The diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma is made by histopathological examination, and surgery is the only treatment. The prognosis for female with uterine sarcoma primarily depends on the extent of disease at the time of diagnosis and the mitotic index.

Abstract
Objective To describe metastatic pattern of uterine leiomyosarcomas (ULMS) and correlate it with clinical and histopathologic parameters. Methods We included 113 women (mean age, 53 years; range, 29 to 72 years) with histopathology-confirmed ULMS from 2000 to 2012. Distribution of metastases was noted from imaging by two radiologists in consensus. Predictors of development of metastases were analyzed with univariate and multivariate analysis. Impact of various clinical and histopathologic parameters on survival was compared using Log-rank test and Cox proportional hazard regression model. Results Distant metastases were seen in 81.4% (92/113) of the patients after median interval of 7 months (interquartile range, 1 to 21). Lung was most common site of metastases (74%) followed by peritoneum (41%), bones (33%), and liver (27%). Local tumor recurrence was noted in 57 patients (50%), 51 of whom had distant metastases. Statistically significant correlation was noted between local recurrence and peritoneal metastases (p<0.001) and between lung and other common sites of hematogeneous metastases (p<0.05). Age, serosal involvement, local recurrence, and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage were predictive factors for metastases. At the time of reporting, 65% (74/113) of the patients have died; median survival was 45 months. Stage, local recurrence, and age were poor prognostic factors. Conclusion ULMS metastasizes most frequently to lung, peritoneum, bone, and liver. Local recurrence was associated with peritoneal spread and lung metastases with other sites of hematogeneous metastases. Age, FIGO stage and local recurrence predicted metastatic disease and advanced stage, older age and local recurrence predicted poor outcome.

Abstract
Uterine leiomyosarcoma (ULMS) is an uncommon malignancy that accounts for one-third of uterine sarcomas and represents 1% of all uterine malignancies, with an incidence averaging 0.5-1/100,000/year. The prognosis is poor due to its intrinsic aggressiveness and its characteristic high metastatic potential with reported distant metastatic spread in lung, abdomen, soft tissue, and brain. We present the case of a 67-year-old woman with lung metastasis after eighteen years since uterine leiomyosarcoma diagnosis and its following surgical resection. The diagnosis of pulmonary metastases was obtained by reviewing the histology of the previous uterine tumor: the tumor cells were immunoreactive for CD10, PR, and smooth muscle actin (SMA), but negative for desmin, S100, CD34, CD 117, cytokeratins AE1AE3, CD68R, and ER. To our knowledge, this disease-free interval is the longest among previous reports of pulmonary metastasis of uterine leiomyosarcoma.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Since first reported in 1986, 14 cases of extrauterine adenomyoma have been reported in the English literature, most often occurring in the ovaries. In this report, we present the first case of extrauterine adenomyoma involving the liver in a 29-year-old woman who presented with a 2-year history of low back pain with recent worsening and a history of laparoscopic myomectomy 5 years previously. Gross inspection of the specimen revealed a subcapsular mass that had a well-circumscribed margin with the adjacent liver tissue. By histopathologic examination, the multilobular mass was composed of a smooth muscle component and benign endometrioid glands and stroma. The smooth muscle component was focally cellular, and the endometrioid glands had secretory features. Both the smooth muscle component and endometrioid tissue were positive for ER and PR. The smooth muscle component was also positive for desmin and SMA, while the endometrioid stroma was positive for CD10. Other extrauterine lesions composed of a mixture of smooth muscle tissue and heterotopic endometrioid tissue, including endometriosis with a smooth muscle component, leiomyomatosis/leiomyomas associated with endometriosis and uterus-like masses, should be included in differential diagnoses. The patient was free from recurrence 5 months after liver tumor resection.
