Abstract
Background Following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, pregnant women are at a higher risk of developing severe COVID-19 disease. This study investigated whether pregnant women should get vaccinated against COVID-19 or not. Pregnant women in comparison with non-pregnant women. Materials and Methods This study was a systematic review that searched the PubMed, Embase, and Scopus databases using the keywords "COVID-19" OR "SARS-CoV-2" OR "Coronavirus Disease" OR "2019-nCoV" AND "pregnancy "OR "pregnant" AND "vaccine" OR "vaccination" from January 2020 to April 2022. Results Of the 37 selected studies, 15 (40.50%) declared positive views, 9 (24.30%) had inconclusive views, and 13 (35.20%) opposed vaccination due to a lack of adequate information. Conclusions Despite the discrepancies among the studies, one-third of the studies suggested that pregnant women be enrolled in clinical trials to investigate the outcomes of the COVID-19 vaccination on maternal and fetal outcomes. However, the majority of the studies recommended maternal immunization against COVID-19.

Abstract
Behçet disease (BD) is an autoimmune and autoinflammatory disease mainly affecting the Silk Road countries. The interindividual severity of BD depends on differences in the polymorphic profiles of the patients. One of the most prominent markers, HLA-B51 positivity, is also observed in 40-60% of patients with BD on the Silk Road. Inflammatory markers such as interleukin 10 (IL-10) and interleukin 23 receptor (IL-23R) are also widely associated with BD etiology. The polymorphisms on these genes may change the susceptibility to BD. In this case-control study, we assessed the associations of IL-10 rs3024498 and IL-23R rs10889677 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with BD susceptibility, if any. Two hundred eighty HLA-B51-positive patients with BD and 300 healthy controls were genotyped for these SNPs using RFLP-PCR. The chi-square test was used for genotyping. We found that IL-23R rs10889677 CC and IL-10 rs3024498 CT genotype frequencies were higher in the BD group than in the control group (p < 0.0001 and p = 0.0293, respectively). The recessive model (AA + CC vs. AC) and combined genotype (AC + CT) results were also statistically significant (p < 0.0001 and p = 0.0364, respectively). We conclude that IL-23R rs10889677 and IL-10 rs3024498 SNPs may be associated with the susceptibility to BD.

Abstract
Background Osteoporosis (OP) is a common metabolic bone disease characterized by loss of bone mass. IL-10 is considered to be a powerful immune and inflammatory suppressor. This study aimed to assess association between genetic loci in IL-10 and susceptibility to OP. Methods Association analysis between IL-10 genetic loci and OP risk through SNPStats online software. FPRP analysis (false-positive report probability) verified whether the positive results were noteworthy findings. Linkage disequilibrium (LD) and haplotype analysis were completed by Haploview 4.2 and SNPStats. Multi-factor dimensionality reduction (MDR) was used to assess interaction of SNP-SNP in susceptibility to OP. Results Allele "G" of IL-10-rs1554286 (OR = 1.21, p = 0.013), allele "C" of IL-10-rs1518111 (OR = 1.22, p = 0.011), allele "C" of IL-10-rs3024490 (OR = 1.20, p = 0.018), and allele "G" of IL-10-rs1800871 (OR = 1.21, p = 0.015) were risk factors for OP. In females, smoking, drinking, or aging ≤60 years old participants, the above genetic loci are also significantly associated with the increased risk of OP. FPRP analysis showed that all positive results are noteworthy findings. There are significant differences in serum levels of uric acid, mean hemoglobin concentration, or mean hemoglobin among different genotypes of IL-10 gene loci. MDR showed that four loci model composed rs1554286, rs1518111, rs3021094, and rs1800871 is the best model for predicting OP risk. Conclusion IL-10-rs1554286, -rs1518111, -rs3021094, and -rs1800871 are risk factors for susceptibility to OP.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Chronic periodontitis (CP) is a prevalent infectious disease caused by an interplay between pathogens and immune responses. Gene polymorphisms are among the factors that affect susceptibility to CP. This study aimed to assess the association between CP and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of interleukin-10 (IL-10), interleukin 1ß (IL-1ß), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) genes.
Methods
A total of 87 patients with CP and 89 healthy controls were included in this study. Venous blood samples were obtained, and DNA was extracted and purified. Segments containing the relevant genes were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Electrophoresis was performed after restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) to determine genotype and allele frequencies.
Results
The CP group showed significantly different allele and genotype frequencies for three out of five SNPs: IL-10 ─ 592 C/A, IL-10 ─ 819 C/T, and IL-1ß + 3954 C/T (p < 0.05). Additionally, the frequency of the TNF-α ─ 857 AA genotype was significantly lower in patients compared with controls (p = 0.034); however, no significant differences were found in allele frequencies (p > 0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed that carriers of IL-10 ─ 592 A allele and IL-1ß + 3954 T allele are at higher risk of CP (p < 0.001). Allele and genotype frequencies for TNF-α ─ 308 G/A did not differ significantly between patients and controls (p > 0.05).
Conclusions
This study showed specific genotypes of IL-10 ─ 592 C/A, IL-10 ─ 819 C/T, IL-1ß + 3954 C/T, and TNF-α ─ 857 G/A SNPs may be associated with an increased risk of CP development.

Abstract
Interleukin 10 (IL-10) is associated with the progression of leishmaniasis because it inhibits the leishmanicidal action of macrophages and the production of mediators such as IFN-γ and nitric oxide. Studies have shown that specific polymorphisms are associated with the regulatory role of IL-10 and the development of more relevant clinical forms of leishamaniasis. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of IL-10 influence the progression of leishmaniasis. The selected articles were read in full and only those consistent with the eligibility criteria were included in our study. Seven studies were eligible according to the inclusion criteria and were included in the present systematic review, but only five were subjected to statistical analysis. The pooled odds ratios showed no significant association between the rs1800871 SNP and the progression of leishmaniasis in all genotype models, including the dominant, recessive, homozygote, heterozygote, and allelic models. Regarding the association between rs1800896 SNP and the progression of leishmaniasis, the pooled odds ratios showed no association under all genotype models. Hence, IL-10 SNPs did not show significant association and were not considered a risk factor for the progression of leishmaniasis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The results of different studies have indicated the possible associations of TLR4 and IL-8 genes polymorphisms with Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). A meta-analysis study was designed to evaluate the possible associations of TLR4 (rs4986790/c.896A>G and rs4986791/ c.1196 C > T) and IL-8 (rs4073/c.251A>T and rs2227306/c.781 C > T) genes polymorphisms with AMD. METHOD A systematic literature search was carried out in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus databases to identify relevant publications. Pooled Odds Ratio (OR) with 95% Confidence Interval (CI) was used to evaluate the power of association. RESULTS A total of 12 case-control studies with 4804 AMD patients and 4422 healthy controls were included in this meta-analysis. The analysis of genotypic and allelic models demonstrated significant associations between IL-8 c.781 C > T (CC vs. TT+TC: OR = 0.62 [0.48-0.81], P < .01; CC vs. TC: OR = 0.65 [0.48-0.89], P < .01; TT vs. CC: OR = 1.64 [1.04-2.57], P = .03; and C vs. T: OR = 0.71 [0.65-0.79], P < .01) and risk of AMD, which all of them passed Bonferroni correction for multiple testing (P-value≤0.01), except for TT vs. CC model. In addition, we found associations under the genotypic model of TLR4 c.896A>G (AA vs. AG+GG: OR = 0.73 [0.55-0.97], P = .03; and AA vs. AG: OR = 0.71 [0.53-0.95], P = .02) although after Bonferroni correction (P'-value<0.02) none of these associations remained significant. However, the data from this meta-analysis declined the associations of TLR4 c.1196 C > T and IL-8 c.251A>T polymorphisms with AMD. CONCLUSION The current meta-analysis study suggested that IL-8 c.781 C > T polymorphism is associated with susceptibility to AMD.

Abstract
Peri-implantitis (PI) is a multifactorial condition caused by the interactions of pathogens and the host immune response. Previous studies have demonstrated a relationship between PI and specific gene polymorphisms, particularly cytokine genes involved in the pathogenesis of PI. This study aimed to evaluate the frequency of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of interleukin-10 (IL-10), interleukin 1ß (IL-1ß), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) genes in PI patients and healthy controls. A total of 50 patients with PI and 89 periodontally healthy controls were recruited for this study. Venous blood samples (5 cc) were collected, and DNA was extracted. After DNA purification, the relevant gene segments were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and electrophoresis were performed to assess the polymorphisms of the related genes. The analysis revealed that allele and genotype frequencies of IL-10 ─ 819 C/T, IL-10 ─ 592 C/A, and IL-1ß + 3954 C/T significantly differed between PI patients and healthy controls. The analysis revealed no significant association between TNF-α ─ 857 G/A and TNF-α ─ 308 G/A polymorphisms and PI. Our results indicated that specific gene polymorphisms of IL-10 ─ 819 C/T, IL-10 ─ 592 C/A, and IL-1ß + 3954 C/T may play a role in the pathogenesis of PI, and increase its risk of occurrence.

Abstract
Aim:
To display microRNA155 (miRNA155) expression in different entities of Behçet’s disease (BD), and to find out if expression is affected in more than one of disease status than another, either phenotypically, according to HLA B51 expression, presence of family history, or patients’ age. Methods: Thirty BD patients (13 of which were HLAB51 positive) and 15 healthy subjects’ samples were obtained. White blood cell miRNA155 expression in both types of samples was estimated. Results: Results showed that there is a degree of relation between decrease of miRNA155 expression and different disease aspects, and also, that miRNA155 has an inverse relation with the patients’ ages. Conclusion: MiRNA155 might be used as a measure of disease of different phenotypes, and that any manifestation of the disease can happen when the expression level decreases.

Abstract
Epidemiological studies have demonstrated that interleukin-10 (IL-10) polymorphisms may be associated with the development of Behcet's disease (BD). However, the published results were inconsistent. Therefore, this meta-analysis was conducted to derive a more precise relationship between IL-10 polymorphisms and BD susceptibility. Online databases (PubMed, Embase, Science Citation Index (SCI), CNKI, and WanFang) were searched to identify eligible studies. Odds ratio (OR) and a 95% confidence interval (CI) were applied to assess the relationship strength between IL-10 -1082A>G (rs1800896), -819T>C (rs1800871), and -592A>C (rs1800872) polymorphisms and BD susceptibility. Publication bias, sensitivity, and cumulative analyses were conducted to measure the robustness of our findings. Finally, fifteen articles (36 independent case-control studies) involving 5,971 patients and 8,913 controls were included. Overall, significant associations between -819T>C polymorphisms and BD risk were observed in the total population (C vs. T: OR = 0.72, 95%CI = 0.67-0.77, P < 0.01, I 2 = 36.6%; TC vs. TT: OR = 0.73, 95%CI = 0.66-0.80, P < 0.01, I 2 = 23.0%; CC vs. TT: OR = 0.52, 95%CI = 0.39-0.70, P < 0.01, I 2 = 53.7%; TC+CC vs. TT: OR = 0.67, 95%CI = 0.61-0.71, P < 0.01, I 2 = 22.1%; and CC vs. TT+TC: OR = 0.66, 95%CI = 0.53-0.82, P < 0.01, I 2 = 57.8%). Moreover, the IL-10 -592 A>C polymorphism and the ACC haplotype exhibited a significant, protective effect against BD susceptibility. In summary, our meta-analysis suggested that IL-10 gene polymorphisms may play a salient role for BD development.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate any associations between the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at the interleukin-6 (IL-6) rs1800796, interleukin-10 (IL-10) rs1800896, and the tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) rs1800629 loci with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) susceptibility. Materials and Methods: A total of 242 GDM patients and 242 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. The genotypes of the IL-6 rs1800796, IL-10 rs1800896, and TNF-α rs1800629 loci were analyzed by Sanger sequencing. Interactions among these SNPs were analyzed through multifactor dimensionality reduction. Results: Women with the IL-6 rs1800796 G allele had a higher GDM susceptibility risk than those with the C allele (odds ratio [OR] = 1.44, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.10-1.90, p = 0.010). Women with the IL-10 rs1800896 C allele had a higher risk of GDM susceptibility than those with the T allele (OR = 2.94, 95% CI: 1.87-4.63, p < 0.001). Women with the TNF-α rs1800629 A allele had a higher risk of susceptibility to GDM than those with the G allele (OR = 3.73, 95% CI: 2.25-6.18, p < 0.001). The plasma levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in GDM patients were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the levels of IL-10 were significantly lower than those in the control group (p < 0.001). Women with the IL-6 rs1800796 CG/GG genotypes had higher plasma IL-6 levels than those with the CC genotype (p < 0.05). Women with the IL-10 rs1800896 TT genotype had higher IL-10 levels than those with the TC/CC genotypes (p < 0.05), and those with the TNF-α rs1800629 GA/AA genotypes had higher TNF-α levels than those with the GG genotype (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study show that the IL-6 rs1800796 G allele, the IL-10 rs1800896 C allele, and the TNF-α rs1800629 A allele are significantly associated with an increased risk of susceptibility to GDM.
