Manipulating dispersive wave emission via temporal sinusoidal phase modulation

We report the dispersive wave (DW) emission from the Gaussian pulse with temporal sinusoidal phase (TSP) modulation. The TSP-induced chirp can enhance or cancel the chirp generated by self-phase modulation by properly selecting the modulation parameters of TSP, which can influence the nonlinear propagation of the TSP-modulated pulse. It is shown that the TSP can effectively control the resonant frequency and energy conversion efficiency of the DW emission. We give a modified phase-matching condition to predict the resonant frequencies, which agree with the simulation results obtained by numerically solving the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The enhanced conversion efficiency of the DWs can be increased up to 28% with only TSP modulation. Our results can extend the application of temporal phase modulation technology for wavelength conversion, and broadband supercontinuum generation.

High-Quality Nursing Care for the Elderly in the Department of Otolaryngology

ENT patients have different types of diseases and clinical symptoms, and generally, patients have a low level of understanding of their professional knowledge about their ENT diseases. In this paper, quality nursing interventions in otorhinolaryngology require nursing staff to implement relevant nursing interventions in the process of implementing relevant nursing care, which should be based on patients' needs, and guide patients to perform rehabilitation exercises according to their individual conditions, in addition to establishing continuous nursing interventions with patients at the time of discharge with the help of modern technology. By comparing the nursing satisfaction of patients in the observation group and the control group, it was found that the nursing satisfaction of patients in the observation group who received humanistic nursing was higher, and the difference was statistically significant compared with that of the control group (P < 0.05). The SCL-90 scale scores of patients in both groups were not significantly different on the day of admission as verified by t values, and the SCL-90 scale scores of patients in both groups changed to a certain extent after hospitalization. The difference between the two groups was verified by t value.

Temporal optical besselon waves for high-repetition rate picosecond sources

We analyse the temporal properties of the optical pulse wave that is obtained by applying a discrete set of spectral π/2 phase shifts to continuous-wave light that is phase-modulated by a temporal sinusoidal wave. We develop an analytical model to describe this new optical waveform that we name ‘besselon’. We also discuss the reduction of sidelobes in the pulse intensity profiles by means of an additional spectral π phase shift, and show that the resulting pulses can be efficiently time-interleaved. The various predicted properties of the besselon are confirmed by experiments demonstrating the generation of low duty cycle, high-quality pulses at repetition rates up to 28 GHz.

All-fibered high-quality 40-GHz to 200 GHz pulse sources based on nonlinear compression of besselons

We experimentally demonstrate the generation of pulse trains with repetition rates of 40-GHz, 80 GHz and 200 GHz. Our approach is based on the nonlinear compression of besselon pulses in a highly-nonlinear fiber with normal dispersion. The pulses are of high quality, with a subpicosecond duration.
