Abstract
BACKGROUND The development of technology and information systems has led to important changes in public health surveillance. OBJECTIVE This scoping review aimed to assess the available evidence and gather information about the use of digital tools for arbovirus (dengue virus [DENV], zika virus [ZIKV], and chikungunya virus [CHIKV]) surveillance. METHODS The databases used were MEDLINE, SCIELO, LILACS, SCOPUS, Web of Science, and EMBASE. The inclusion criterion was defined as studies that described the use of digital tools in arbovirus surveillance. The exclusion criteria were defined as follows: letters, editorials, reviews, case reports, series of cases, descriptive epidemiological studies, laboratory and vaccine studies, economic evaluation studies, and studies that did not clearly describe the use of digital tools in surveillance. Results were evaluated in the following steps: monitoring of outbreaks or epidemics, tracking of cases, identification of rumors, decision-making by health agencies, communication (cases and bulletins), and dissemination of information to society). RESULTS Of the 2227 studies retrieved based on screening by title, abstract, and full-text reading, 68 (3%) studies were included. The most frequent digital tools used in arbovirus surveillance were apps (n=24, 35%) and Twitter, currently called X (n=22, 32%). These were mostly used to support the traditional surveillance system, strengthening aspects such as information timeliness, acceptability, flexibility, monitoring of outbreaks or epidemics, detection and tracking of cases, and simplicity. The use of apps to disseminate information to society (P=.02), communicate (cases and bulletins; P=.01), and simplicity (P=.03) and the use of Twitter to identify rumors (P=.008) were statistically relevant in evaluating scores. This scoping review had some limitations related to the choice of DENV, ZIKV, and CHIKV as arboviruses, due to their clinical and epidemiological importance. CONCLUSIONS In the contemporary scenario, it is no longer possible to ignore the use of web data or social media as a complementary strategy to health surveillance. However, it is important that efforts be combined to develop new methods that can ensure the quality of information and the adoption of systematic measures to maintain the integrity and reliability of digital tools' data, considering ethical aspects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Since effective education is one of the main concerns of every society and, in nursing, can lead to the education of successful people, the development of learning and teaching methods with greater effectiveness is one of the educational priorities in every country. The present study aimed to compare the effect of education using the flipped class, gamification and gamification in the flipped learning environment on the performance of nursing students in a client health assessment. METHODS The present study was a Parallel randomized clinical trial study. The participants were 166 nursing students. The clinical trial data was collected from December 14, 2023, to February 20, 2024. The inclusion criteria were nursing students who had passed the first semester, who were willing to participate and install the app on their mobile devices, and who had no experience with the designed application for this study. The participants were allocated to four groups with colored carts. In the first group, teaching was performed via gamification in a flipped learning environment; in the second group, teaching was performed via the gamification method. A flipped class was implemented in the third group. In the fourth group, the usual lecture method was used. The practical performance to assess the physical health assessment with 10 questions using the key-feature questions, along with the satisfaction and self-efficacy of the students, was also checked with questionnaires. RESULTS In this study, 166 nursing students, (99 female and 67 male), with an average (standard deviation) age of 21.29 (1.45) years, participated. There was no statistically significant difference in the demographic characteristics of the participants in the four intervention groups (P > 0.05). Comparing the results before and after the intervention, the results of the paired t test indicated a significant difference in the satisfaction, learning and self-efficacy of the learners (P < 0.001). In the comparison of the four groups, the ANOVA results for the comparison of the average scores of knowledge evaluation and satisfaction after intervention among the four groups indicated a statistically significant difference (P < 0.001). When the knowledge evaluation scores of the groups were compared, the scores for gamification in the flipped learning environment were significantly different from the other methods (P < 0.05), and there was no significant difference between the scores for the flipped class and lecture methods (P = 0.43). According to the ANOVA results, when comparing the satisfaction scores of the groups, the students in the flipped learning environment and gamification groups were more satisfied than the flipped class and lecture groups (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION Based on the results of the present research, it can be concluded that teaching methods have an effect on students' learning and satisfaction. The teaching method has an effect on the satisfaction of the students, and the use of the flipped class method with the use of gamification was associated with more attractiveness and satisfaction in addition to learning. Teachers can improve the effectiveness of education with their creativity, depending on situation, time, cost, and available resources, by using and integrating educational methods.

Abstract
Background Dengue has emerged as a significant public health issue in Nepal since 2006, necessitating innovative approaches to disseminating timely information and promoting preventive behaviour. Our study focuses on developing and pretesting a mobile health app called NepaDengue, assessing its acceptance and factors influencing its implementation. Methods A concurrent triangulation mixed-method design was used, and an intervention was conducted among 228 university students using the mobile application. Acceptability was assessed using the technology acceptance model (TAM) based on user experiences over 1 week. Focus group discussions among students and female community health volunteers and key informant interviews among key dengue stakeholders were conducted to explore facilitators and barriers. Descriptive statistics were calculated, and a thematic analysis was conducted. Results The high acceptability mean rating scores reported based on the TAM construct indicate that the application is perceived as useful and easy to use and exhibits good functioning and gestural design. The use of the NepaDengue application for dengue prevention and control activities has been perceived as acceptable by users and stakeholders. However, specific barriers were identified, including concerns about sustained usability, illiteracy and limited access to the internet and smartphones. We suggested promoting the application, fostering government ownership and encouraging collaboration to enhance its reach and effective implementation. Conclusions The NepaDengue application has been perceived as a promising tool for dengue prevention and control in Nepal. Further piloting and implementation of the app in the community setting is recommended.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third leading cause of cancer and the second cause of cancer-related deaths in the world. Despite the infrastructure and the availability of organized screening programs, participation in their screening programs is less than the set goals. Considering the importance of informing the society about the prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer symptoms and the positive impact of mobile health technologies, the present research was conducted with the aim of designing and evaluating a colon cancer mobile application. METHODS The present research was conducted in two phases: software design and evaluation. In the first phase, the software was prepared using the cascade method. First, all the educational content related to colorectal cancer was collected through an expert panel with the participation of 10 specialists. Then the software was evaluated with alpha and beta testing, and the initial version was approved by users in terms of simplicity and usability. In the second phase, a parallel clinical randomized trial study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of a colon cancer mobile application on the early detection of colorectal cancer. In this stage, 204 volunteers participated; inclusion criteria were age 18-85 years, owning a smartphone and the ability to read and write. Participants were randomized into control and intervention groups. The intervention group was educated with the colon cancer application for education about colorectal cancer, and the control group was educated with a pamphlet. After education, both groups were screened for colorectal cancer symptoms, and the results were compared. RESULTS In the software evaluation phase, the application was used by 204 users. In this stage, 84 (41.2%) women and 120 (58.8%) men, with an average (Standard Deviation) age of 47.53 (13.68) participated. Participants were randomized in two groups, 103 people with an average (Standard Deviation) age of 47.62 (14.65) in intervention group and 101 people with an average (Standard Deviation) age of 47.44 (12.70) in control group. There were no significant differences between the demographic characteristics of age, gender, marriage, occupation, instruction level, digestive disease history, cancer history, cancer risk factors, and family history of cancer between the two groups (P > 0.05). The Mann-Whitney U test indicated that there is a significant difference between the two groups of participants in self-assessment, willingness to do the screening, and the results of the assessment of colorectal cancer (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The results of the research indicated the positive impact of the Colon Cancer Application on the abilities of the users of self-assessment of colon cancer. Therefore, based on the findings, it can be concluded that the use of the colon cancer mobile application is effective for colon cancer prevention and self-care. Abstract
The Tanjung Selor Health Center reported 2 laboratory-confirmed negative measles suspected cases that occurred in the Tanjung Selor Hilir urban village area, thus meeting the Discarded Rate target of 80% for North Kalimantan Province. This study aims to design and determine the effectiveness of measles-rubella surveillance applications based on increasing measles suspect case finding. This research used pre-experimental study design and system development with the prototype method. This study was conducted in the working area of the Tanjung Selor Health Center. Samples of research were teachers and children of kindergarten/early childhood, elementary/boarding schools, and private pediatrician health service facilities in the Tanjung Selor Hilir village. The name of the application is SICARE (Sistem Campak Rubella/Measles-Rubella Surveillance) and expected to facilitate monitoring reporting cases of measles rubella. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate t-tests on Stata and then interpreted in the form of tables and narratives. The results showed the frequency of reporting (P=0.010), the difference in case of reporting before and after treatment (P=0.160), the effectiveness of surveillance attributes in schools and private facilities after treatment (P=0.00), and the effectiveness of reporting on Health Center officers (P=0.22). Significant results from the development of the SICARE application are the frequency of reporting and the effectiveness of surveillance attributes in schools and private facilities. It is recommended for health center staff to further develop the application that has been built through optimal planning to improve early detection and rapid response in an active measles-rubella surveillance system.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to determine the methods and metrics used to evaluate the usability of mobile application Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSSs) used in healthcare emergencies. Secondary aims were to describe the characteristics and usability of evaluated CDSSs. Materials and Methods A systematic literature review was conducted using Pubmed/Medline, Embase, Scopus, and IEEE Xplore databases. Quantitative data were descriptively analyzed, and qualitative data were described and synthesized using inductive thematic analysis. Results Twenty-three studies were included in the analysis. The usability metrics most frequently evaluated were efficiency and usefulness, followed by user errors, satisfaction, learnability, effectiveness, and memorability. Methods used to assess usability included questionnaires in 20 (87%) studies, user trials in 17 (74%), interviews in 6 (26%), and heuristic evaluations in 3 (13%). Most CDSS inputs consisted of manual input (18, 78%) rather than automatic input (2, 9%). Most CDSS outputs comprised a recommendation (18, 78%), with a minority advising a specific treatment (6, 26%), or a score, risk level or likelihood of diagnosis (6, 26%). Interviews and heuristic evaluations identified more usability-related barriers and facilitators to adoption than did questionnaires and user testing studies. Discussion A wide range of metrics and methods are used to evaluate the usability of mobile CDSS in medical emergencies. Input of information into CDSS was predominantly manual, impeding usability. Studies employing both qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate usability yielded more thorough results. Conclusion When planning CDSS projects, developers should consider multiple methods to comprehensively evaluate usability.

Abstract
A mobile health data capture application can improve quality of data collection in clinical cancer trials. The use of a mobile health data capture application optimizes the efficiency and effectivity of a trial participant’s visit to a clinic. A mobile health data capture application relieves participants from instant recall on possible health changes during visits. The use of a mobile health data capture application helps a healthcare provider in preparing a participant’s visit.
Mobile health data capture applications (mHDA’s) may improve communication between healthcare providers and patients. However, there is limited literature about the use of mHDA’s facilitating clinical trials. In this study, the effectiveness of an application, supporting follow-up visits of cancer trial participants was investigated. Twenty participants were provided with an e-questionnaire via the mHDA. Participants rated the usability of the application as high performing (mean Systems Usability Scale 87 points). The research team rated the mHDA as highly applicable and efficient in preparing visits. Anamnesis, physical examination and agreement on further policy were performed within an average of 31 min.

Abstract
Background Pregnant women at work often encounter barriers to participating in prenatal education or conducting appropriate self-care practices due to their working conditions. Purpose We aimed at developing a mobile-based intervention application (SPWW) for Korean pregnant women at work and testing its usability and preliminary effects to enhance their self-care practices. Patients and Methods The application was developed and tested with thirty-one pregnant women at work and thirteen women's healthcare providers. The instruments used in this study were a modified Health Practices in Pregnancy Questionnaire II and a System Usability Scale. Descriptive analyses and t-tests were performed using SPSS 25.0. The participants' open-ended answers were analyzed using ATLAS. ti 8. Results We developed the application focusing on four self-care topics: healthy diet, physical activity, sufficient rest, and stress management. After using the application for two weeks, participants' levels of exercise (p = 0.006), adequate fluid intake (p = 0.002), and limiting daily caffeine intake (p = 0.048) significantly improved. In addition to good usability scores, the suggestions for improvement made by the participants included diversifying the educational materials and adding individually customizable functions to the application. Conclusion The application developed in this study enhanced self-care practices of pregnant women at work and showed adequate levels of usability. We expect the developmental process and details of the application provided in this study to serve as a sample guide for future studies.

Abstract
Background While early detection and effective control of epidemics depend on appropriate surveillance methods, the Philippines bases its dengue fever surveillance system on a passive surveillance method (notifications from barangay/village health centers, municipal or city health offices, hospitals, and clinics). There is no available mHealth (mobile health) app for dengue fever that includes all the appropriate surveillance methods in early detection of disease outbreaks in the country. Objective This study aimed to evaluate the usability of the Mozzify app in terms of objective quality (engagement, functionality, aesthetics, information) and app subjective and app-specific qualities and compare total app mean score ratings by sociodemographic profile and self and family dengue fever history to see what factors are associated with high app mean score rating among school-based young adult samples and health care professionals. Individual interviews and focus group discussions were also conducted among participants to develop themes from their comments and suggestions to help structure further improvement and future development of the app. Methods User experience sessions were conducted among participants, and the Mobile Application Rating Scale (MARS) professional and user versions (uMARS) were administered followed by individual interviews and focus group discussions. Descriptive statistical analysis of the MARS and uMARS score ratings was performed. The total app mean score ratings by sociodemographic and dengue fever history using nonparametric mean difference analyses were also conducted. Thematic synthesis was used to develop themes from the comments and suggestions raised in individual interviews and focus group discussions. Results Mozzify obtained an overall >4 (out of 5) mean score ratings in the MARS and uMARS app objective quality (4.45), subjective (4.17), and specific (4.55) scales among 948 participants (79 health care professionals and 869 school-based samples). Mean difference analyses revealed that total app mean score ratings were not significantly different across ages and gender among health care professionals and across age, income categories, and self and family dengue fever history but not gender (P<.001) among the school-based samples. Thematic syntheses revealed 7 major themes: multilanguage options and including other diseases; Android version availability; improvements on the app’s content, design, and engagement; inclusion of users from low-income and rural areas; Wi-Fi connection and app size concerns; data credibility and issues regarding user security and privacy. Conclusions With its acceptable performance as perceived by health care professionals and school-based young adults, Mozzify has the potential to be used as a strategic health intervention system for early detection of disease outbreaks in the Philippines. It can be used by health care professionals of any age and gender and by school-based samples of any age, socioeconomic status, and dengue fever history. The study also highlights the feasibility of school-based young adults to use health-related apps for disease prevention.
