Nursing care protocol for critical users with tracheostomy under mechanical ventilation

OBJECTIVES

to develop and assess a nursing care protocol for critically ill users with tracheostomy under mechanical ventilation.

METHODS

a methodological study, developed through two phases, guided by the 5W2H management tool: I) target audience characterization and II) technology development.

RESULTS

thirty-four nursing professionals participated in this study, who presented educational demands in relation to care for critical users with tracheostomy, with an emphasis on standardizing care through a protocol and carrying out continuing education.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

the creation and validity of new technologies aimed at this purpose enhanced the participation of nursing professionals and their empowerment in the health institution's microsectoral actions and in macrosectoral actions, highlighting the need for public policies that guarantee the conduct of a line of care for users with tracheostomy.

Representation of the black woman on the Brazilian Ministry of Heath advertising posters

OBJECTIVE

To describe and analyze the forms of representation of black women in posters used by the Brazilian Ministry of Health for advertising campaigns on women's sexual and reproductive health.

METHOD

Descriptive, exploratory and documentary study with advertising posters addressing the promotion of women's sexual and reproductive health, available at the Virtual Health Library - Brazil. For the analysis of data, the thematic content analysis was used.

RESULTS

Out of the 498 identified posters, 161 addressed women's sexual and reproductive health. After applying the exclusion criteria, 41 posters remained, of which 31 (75.6%) represented a white woman, nine (21.9%) a black woman, and one an indigenous woman (2.4%). Data analysis converged to two analytical categories: the pseudo representation of black women; and women's sexual and reproductive health limited to pregnancy and postpartum.

CONCLUSION

The representation of the black woman in the advertising posters of the Brazilian Ministry of Health is low, and the themes addressed in the posters do not contemplate all the phenomena that make up the sexual and reproductive health of women during their life cycle.

Educational technology to mediate care of the “kangaroo family” in the neonatal unit

ABSTRACT Objective: to validate the content of an educational technology in the form of a booklet developed to mediate care of family members of newborns hospitalized in a neonatal unit. Method: Methodological research with content validation. Data collected from October 2011 to February 2012; research developed in three steps: development, evaluation and adaptation. The study population was 15 judges, health professionals and other professionals. The participants answered a Likert-type questionnaire with 3 blocks of evaluative items. Data were analyzed statistically. Results: validation reached the results proposed in most responses (80%); 16 items exceeded the parameter, 4 were equal to the score established and 2 were below the parameter. Conclusion: the content of educational technologies need to be validated. The booklet, after the evaluation, constitutes an adequate device to mediate care of the family members in the NICU.

[Communication in the coordination practices of socioeducational groups in family health]

The purpose of this study was to assess the forms of communication used by coordinators in socioeducational groups in family health programmes. This qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study was conducted with 25 coordinators of groups in eight basic health units from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Data collection comprised non-participant observation and semistructured interviews with the coordinators. The theoretical basis for research was Bakhtin's formulations and references on communication and health. The gathered information showed that the body, health and disease triad was communicated in groups through different channels and at different levels of discourse. Our conclusion is that coordinators must adopt an approach that values the expression of participants, not just regarding the physical dimensions of health, but also the life of each participant, and should use various forms of communication to foster dialogical educational actions and means for interaction in groups.

Jogo educativo sobre drogas para cegos: construção e avaliação

Estudo realizado com o objetivo de construir e avaliar um jogo educativo sobre drogas psicoativas acessível a pessoas cegas, desenvolvido em três etapas: construção do jogo educativo, avaliação por três especialistas em educação especial e doze cegos. Foi construído um jogo de tabuleiro denominado Drogas: jogando limpo . Na Versão Alfa os especialistas fizeram sugestões em relação às e instruções e ao tabuleiro: textura das casas, peças do jogo e escrita em Braille. Na Versão Beta, procedeu-se à avaliação pelos cegos, os quais sugeriram alterações na textura das casas e colocação de velcro para fixação do pino no tabuleiro. Passou-se, então, à Versão Gama, jogada pelas últimas três duplas de cegos e considerada adequada. Na avaliação dos juízes, o jogo revelou-se adequado, pois permite o acesso à informação sobre drogas psicoativas de maneira lúdica.

Modelos de comunicação e uso de impressos na educação em saúde: uma pesquisa bibliográfica

O artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre o uso de materiais impressos na educação em saúde, enfocando os modelos de comunicação, as representações dos usuários e as dinâmicas da seleção de conteúdos e de avaliação. Realizou-se uma análise de 11 artigos pesquisados a partir da base Scielo. Nessa análise, os artigos apontam que a comunicação se caracteriza predominantemente pelo modelo unilinear e pela impessoalidade. Os receptores são considerados meros consumidores de conceitos científicos. Na maioria das vezes, os profissionais de saúde são os únicos responsáveis pela seleção dos conteúdos. Nos artigos pesquisados pode-se encontrar um conflito entre a perspectiva dos seus autores (dialógica) e a dos produtores dos impressos (unilinear).

O processo de elaboração de cartilhas para orientação do autocuidado no programa educativo em Diabetes

Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever a experiência da elaboração de cartilhas sobre a educação do autocuidado realizada junto aos indivíduos com Diabetes do Hospital-Escola, por docentes e alunos de graduação da Escola de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. A partir das oficinas de saúde realizada com docentes e alunos, foram levantados problemas e questões relacionadas ao autocuidado em Diabetes. Com base na filosofia freireana, foram realizados encontros com os indivíduos com Diabetes, seguindo um roteiro de trabalho para a construção das cartilhas que incluiu a seleção de conteúdos, estilo e formato do material. A criatividade presente nas imagens durante as discussões sobre os assuntos fez dos encontros um rico momento de troca, em que os participantes expuseram idéias, valores, crenças, e histórias de vida. As mensagens foram bem planejadas, compreensíveis e atrativas, e os indivíduos consideraram-nas eficazes para auxiliar nas atividades educativas e no autocuidado em Diabetes.
