Abstract
PURPOSE To identify the most effective combination of DCE-MRI (Ktrans,Kep) and IVIM (D,f) and analyze the correlations of these parameters with prognostic indicators (ER, PR, and HER2, Ki-67 index, axillary lymph node (ALN) and tumor size) to improve the diagnostic and prognostic efficiency in breast cancer. METHODS This is a prospective study. We performed T1WI, T2WI, IVIM, DCE-MRI at 3 T MRI examinations on benign and malignant breast lesions that met the inclusion criteria. We also collected pathological results of corresponding lesions, including ER, PR, and HER2, Ki-67 index, axillary lymph node (ALN) and tumor size. The diagnostic efficacy of DCE-MRI, IVIM imaging, and their combination for benign and malignant breast lesions was assessed. Correlations between the DCE-MRI and IVIM parameters and prognostic indicators were assessed. RESULTS Overall,59 female patients with 62 lesions (22 benign lesions and 40 malignant lesions) were included in this study. The malignant group showed significantly lower D values (p < 0.05) and significantly higher Ktrans, Kep, and f values (p < 0.05). The AUC values of DCE, IVIM, DCE + IVIM were 0.828, 0.882, 0.901. Ktrans, Kep, D and f values were correlated with the pathological grade (p < 0.05); Ktrans was negatively correlated with ER expression (r = -0.519, p < 0.05); Kep was correlated with PR expression and the Ki-67 index (r = -0.489, 0.330, p < 0.05); the DCE and IVIM parameters showed no significant correlations with the HER2 and ALN (p > 0.05). Tumor diameter was correlated with the Kep, D and f values (r = 0.246, -0.278, 0.293; p < 0.05). CONCLUSION IVIM and DCE-MRI allowed differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions, and their combination showed significantly better diagnostic efficiency. DCE- and IVIM-derived parameters showed correlations with some prognostic factors for breast cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fourth most common cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Angiogenic factors may be valuable indices of tumor recurrence and treatment and potentially useful markers for predicting the response to antiangiogenesis therapy. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are major drivers of tumor angiogenesis. Preoperatively predicting the expression of VEGF and MMPs is crucial for treating HCC. Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) has been successfully used in the differential diagnosis of HCC, pathological grading, and treatment response evaluation. However, the correlations between IVIM-DWI parameters and VEGF and MMP expression have not been reported. This study provides a preliminary analysis of the correlation between IVIM-DWI parameters and the expression of VEGF, MMP-2, and MMP-9 to investigate the value of IVIM-DWI in the noninvasive evaluation of angiogenesis in HCC. METHODS IVIM-DWI was performed in 61 patients with HCC 1 week before they underwent surgical resection. VEGF, MMP-2, and MMP-9 expression was detected using immunohistochemistry staining. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlations between the IVIM-DWI parameters and VEGF, MMP-2, and MMP-9 expression in HCC. RESULTS The fast apparent diffusion coefficient fraction (f) value was positively correlated with the expression of VEGF (P<0.001), MMP-2 (P=0.002), and MMP-9 (P<0.001). The fast apparent diffusion coefficient (D*) was positively correlated with VEGF (P<0.001) and MMP-9 (P<0.001) expression but was not correlated with MMP-2 (P=0.659) expression. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and slow apparent diffusion coefficient (D) values were not significantly correlated with the expression of VEGF (P=0.103 and P=0.543, respectively), MMP-2 (P=0.596 and P=0.338, respectively), or MMP-9 (P=0.102 and P=0.660, respectively). CONCLUSIONS IVIM-DWI can be used to noninvasively evaluate angiogenesis in HCC.

Abstract
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES To assess the diagnostic performance of dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron-emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) parameters in evaluating the biological behavior of soft tissue tumors. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively analyzed DCE-MRI and 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters in 78 patients with pathology-confirmed soft tissue tumors. A total of 78 patients had undergone DCE-MRI examination, while 24 patients with malignant soft tissue tumor had undergone 18F-FDG PET/CT examination. Microvessel density (MVD) and the Ki-67 labeling index (LI) were detected using immunohistochemistry. Differences in parameters (Ktrans, Kep, Ve, MVD, and Ki-67 LI) between benign and malignant tumors were compared. Differences in parameters (Ktrans, Kep, Ve, MVD, and SUVmax) between high- and low-proliferation malignant tumors (grouped by Ki-67 LI) were compared. Correlation of the DCE-MRI and 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters with MVD and Ki-67 LI was analyzed. RESULTS Only the Ktrans, Kep, MVD, and Ki-67 LI differed significantly between the benign and malignant soft tissue tumors (all p < 0.001). Only Kep (p = 0.033) and SUVmax (p = 0.001) differed significantly between high- and low-proliferation malignant soft tissue tumors. Ktrans, Kep, and SUVmax correlated positively with MVD (r = 0.805, 0.778, 0.730, respectively; all p < 0.001), and with Ki-67 LI (r = 0.721, 0.685, 0.655, respectively; all p < 0.001). CONCLUSION DCE-MRI and 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters indicate soft tissue tumor biological behavior and can be used to differentiate between benign and malignant soft tissue tumors and between high- and low-proliferation malignant soft tissue tumors.

Abstract
Background. Breast cancer is the uncontrolled proliferation of breast epithelial cells under the action of various carcinogenic factors. The evaluation of early efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer is helpful to change the treatment plan in time. On this basis, dynamic contrast enhancement magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) was used to evaluate the effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on angiogenesis and cell proliferation in breast cancer. Objective. To evaluate the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on angiogenesis and cell proliferation of breast cancer by dynamic enhanced DCE-MRI. Method. 80 breast cancer patients were divided into the routine chemotherapy group (3 cycles) and neoadjuvant chemotherapy groups (3 cycles) of 40 cases each from January 2018 to June 2021. Based on conventional imaging, DCE-MRI was performed with Intera Achieva 3.0 TMR superconducting MR scanner before and after treatment. The quantitative indexes, MRI parameters, cell proliferation expression, and DCE-MRI angiogenesis were compared between the two groups. Result. The inhibition rate, Vepost, Ktranspre, ADC, Bax, Alexi, and Aurora in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group were significantly higher than those in the conventional chemotherapy group (
), while Kep, Ktrans, and Nek2 were significantly lower than those in the conventional chemotherapy group (
). Vepre (cm3), Ktranspre (ml/min/100 cm3), and Ve had no significant difference (
). Conclusion. The quantitative parameters, MRI parameters, proliferation, and expression of DCE-MRI in breast cancer patients with different chemotherapy regimens are quite different. They can be applied to the diagnosis of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer patients with angiogenesis and cell proliferation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) is used to evaluate tumor microvasculature. However, studies demonstrating an association between perfusion parameters derived from DCE-MRI and histopathologic characteristics are limited to a small set of histopathologic factors, and the results are inconsistent. PURPOSE To evaluate the relationship between DCE-MRI perfusion parameters and common histopathologic tumor characteristics used to predict angiogenesis and determine prognosis in breast cancer. STUDY TYPE Retrospective. POPULATION In all, 105 breast cancer patients with invasive ductal carcinoma (122 lesions). FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3.0T, turbo spin-echo (TSE) T1 -weighted, fat-suppressed T2 -weighted, TSE T2 -weighted, and dynamic unenhanced and contrast-enhanced 3D T1 high-resolution isotropic volume examination. ASSESSMENT One reviewer obtained perfusion parameters (Ktrans , kep , ve , and vp ) of each breast cancer from DCE MRI using the extended Tofts model with a fixed baseline T1 value and a population-based arterial input function. The relationship between DCE-MRI perfusion parameters and histopathologic tumor characteristics used to predict angiogenesis and determine prognosis was evaluated. STATISTICAL TESTS Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Kruskal-Wallis test were used. RESULTS Triple-negative breast cancers exhibited higher Ktrans and kep than luminal cancers (P < 0.05). Estrogen receptor (ER)-negative tumors showed higher Ktrans than ER-positive tumors (P < 0.05). Progesterone receptor (PR)-negative tumors presented higher ve than PR-positive tumors (P < 0.05). Tumors with higher Ki-67 showed higher kep than tumors with lower Ki-67 (P < 0.05). P53-positive tumors exhibited higher Ktrans and kep than p53-negative tumors (P < 0.05). Higher histologic grade tumors (grade II/III) presented higher Ktrans , kep , vp (P < 0.05) than grade I tumors. Tumors with LVSI presented higher Ktrans and kep than tumors without LVSI (P < 0.05). DATA CONCLUSION Breast cancer presenting higher Ktrans and kep on DCE-MRI was associated with poor prognostic histopathologic factors. Therefore, pretreatment DCE-MRI perfusion parameters may be useful imaging biomarkers for the evaluation of tumor prognosis and angiogenesis. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 3 TECHNICAL EFFICACY STAGE: 2.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to develop a tool for the classification of masses in breast MRI, based on ultrafast TWIST-VIBE Dixon (TVD) dynamic sequences combined with DWI. TVD sequences allow to abbreviate breast MRI protocols, but provide kinetic information only on the contrast wash-in, and because of the lack of the wash-out kinetics, their diagnostic value might be hampered. A special focus of this study was thus to maintain high diagnostic accuracy in lesion classification. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty-one patients who received breast MRI between 02/2014 and 04/2015 were included, with 83 reported lesions (60 malignant). Our institute's standard breast MRI protocol was complemented by an ultrafast TVD sequence. ADC and peak enhancement of the TVD sequences were integrated into a generalised linear model (GLM) for malignancy prediction. For comparison, a second GLM was calculated using ADC and conventional DCE curve type. The resulting GLMs were evaluated for standard diagnostic parameters. For easy application of the GLMs, nomograms were created. RESULTS The GLM based on peak enhancement of the TVD and ADC was as equally accurate as the GLM based on conventional DCE and ADC, with no significant differences (sensitivity, 93.3%/93.3%; specificity, 91.3%/87.0%; PPV, 96.6%/94.9%; NPV, 84.0%/83.3%; all, p ≥ 0.315). CONCLUSIONS This study presents a method to integrate ultrafast TVD sequences into a breast MRI protocol, allowing a reduction of the examination time while maintaining diagnostic accuracy. A GLM based on the combination of TVD-derived peak enhancement and ADC provides high diagnostic accuracy, and can be easily applied using a nomogram. KEY POINTS • Ultrafast TWIST-VIBE Dixon sequence protocols in combination with diffusion-weighted imaging allow to shorten breast MRI examinations, while diagnostic accuracy is maintained. • Integrating peak enhancement from the TWIST-VIBE Dixon sequence and the apparent diffusion coefficient into a generalised linear model provides a comprehensible image evaluation approach. • This approach is further facilitated by nomograms.

Abstract
In order to explore the application value of DCE-MRI in clinical diagnosis and treatment, guide early clinical diagnosis, evaluate prognosis, guide clinical selection of treatment options and improve medical level, the expression of adenocarcinoma, its relationship with clinicopathology, and the significance of co-expression of the proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), Ki67 protein and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) in breast cancer are analyzed. The results show that the positive expression rates of ki67, PCNA, and COX-2 in breast cancer patients are significantly higher than those in breast cancer patients (P<0.05). Positive expressions of ki67, PCNA, and COX-2 in breast cancer patients are not correlated with age, tumor size and clinical stage (P>0.05). There is no significant difference (P>0.05) between the pathological types of breast cancer and positive expressions of ki67, PCNA and COX-2 in all the samples studied. Therefore, there is a correlation between DCE-MRI imaging features and prognostic indicators in breast cancer.
