Abstract
INTRODUCTION Severe hypoglycemic events (SHE) represent a clinical and economic burden in patients with diabetes. Nasal glucagon (NG) is a novel treatment for SHEs with similar efficacy, but with a usability advantage over injectable glucagon (IG) that may translate to improved economic outcomes. The economic implications of this usability advantage on SHE-related spending in Spain were explored in this analysis. METHODS A cost-offset and budget impact analysis (BIA) was conducted using a decision tree model, adapted for the Spanish setting. The model calculated average costs per SHE over the SHE treatment pathway following a treatment attempt with IG or NG. Analyses were performed separately in three populations with insulin-treated diabetes: children and adolescents (4-17 years) with type 1 diabetes (T1D), adults with T1D and adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D), with respective population estimates applied in BIA. Treatment probabilities were assumed to be equal for IG and NG, except for treatment success following glucagon administration. Epidemiologic and cost data were obtained from Spanish-specific sources. BIA results were presented at a 3-year time horizon. RESULTS On a per SHE level, NG was associated with lower costs compared to IG (children and adolescents with T1D, EUR 820; adults with T1D, EUR 804; adults with T2D, EUR 725). Lower costs were attributed to reduced costs of professional medical assistance in patients treated with NG. After 3 years, BIA showed that relative to IG, the introduction of NG was projected to reduce SHE-related spending by EUR 1,158,969, EUR 142,162,371, and EUR 6,542,585 in children and adolescents with T1D, adults with T1D, and adults with insulin-treated T2D, respectively. CONCLUSIONS In Spain, the usability advantage of NG over IG translates to potential cost savings per SHE in three populations with insulin-treated diabetes, and the introduction of NG was associated with a lower budget impact versus IG in each group.

Abstract
Objective: To systematically analyze the effects of art therapy on the levels of depression, anxiety, blood glucose, and glycated hemoglobin in diabetic patients. Methods: We searched Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase, and ClinicalTrials.gov databases from inception to January 24, 2021. The language of publication was limited to English. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that used art therapy to improve mental disorders in diabetic patients were involved. After selection of eligible studies, data were extracted, including the first author's full-name, year of publication, the first author's country of residence, number of intervention and control groups, the mean age of participants, method of intervention, duration of follow-up, and outcome measures. Assessment of quality of the included studies and data extraction were independently carried out by two researchers. RevMan 5.3 software was used to perform statistical analysis. Results: A total of 396 samples from five studies were included, and the eligible studies were RCTs with a parallel design. Methods of art therapy included music therapy and painting therapy. The results showed that compared with the control group, art therapy could positively affect the levels of depression [standardized mean difference (SMD), −1.36; 95% confidence interval (CI), (−1.63, −1.09); P < 0.00001] and blood glucose in diabetic patients [mean difference (MD), −0.90; 95% CI, (−1.03, −0.77); P < 0.0001], while it had no influence on the levels of anxiety [SMD, −0.31; 95% CI, (−0.93, 0.31); P = 0.32] and glycated hemoglobin [MD, 0.22; 95% CI, (−0.02, 0.46); P = 0.07]. Conclusion: Art therapy may have significant effects on the levels of depression and blood glucose for diabetic patients.

Abstract
The use of quantitative self-report methods for assessing the stress associated with dementia caregiving, especially among minority groups, has been lately criticized. The aim of this study was to examine whether Human Figures Drawings might provide a tool for assessing caregivers' burden. Sixty Israeli Arabs – 30 family caregivers of a person with dementia and 30 gender and age-matched non-caregivers – were asked to draw a caregiver of an elderly person with dementia and a caregiver of an elderly person with a physical disability. While no differences were found between the drawings of caregivers and non-caregivers, statistically significant differences were found between all the characteristics of the drawings depicting a caregiver of an elderly person with dementia and a caregiver of an elderly person with a physical disability, as drawn by caregivers. Several of the drawings' characteristics were significantly associated with caregiver burden. By introducing a nonverbal form of expression, Human Figures Drawings might add utility to the assessment of dementia caregivers' burden.

Abstract
Resumo Objetivo Construir serious games educativo para adolescentes com diabetes mellitus tipo 1. Métodos Pesquisa metodológica, fundamentado no design centrado no usuário e efetivado em três etapas: revisão de literatura e envolvimento dos sujeitos; concepção e produção do protótipo; avaliação da usabilidade. Resultados a produção do serious games foi pautada em literatura científica e sugestões de adolescentes. O conteúdo educativo foi apresentado pelo personagem Didi sobre hábitos de vida diária: acordar, realizar higiene pessoal, monitorização da glicemia capilar e aplicação de insulina. Neste percurso, o jogador observa ações terapêuticas incluindo escolhas de alimentos saudáveis. Na avaliação de usabilidade, os adolescentes consideraram satisfatórios os requisitos de jogabilidade, conteúdo e design. Conclusão o teste de usabilidade teve validação positiva e as sugestões contribuíram para melhoria da qualidade das funções e interação, favorecendo o alcance das metas do jogo. Assim, a tecnologia apresenta propriedades para melhorar os cuidados dos adolescentes com diabetes mellitus tipo 1.

Abstract
Aim: to finding what young patients with type-1 diabetes (T1D) knows about their body and also on their illness in perspective to tailor educational interventions to their real ability to understand. Methods: the present study involved 68 children with T1D , 5 to 14 years old with a duration of diabetes ranging from 2 to 6 years and a total HbA1c mean value of 7.96±0.87%. The sample was divided into two age Groups: 28 children 5 to 10 years old were gathered in the Group 1 and 40 teenagers aged from 11 to 14 years in the Group 2. These patients were invited to draw over a white paper using a black pencil “The human body as it is made inside”. Subsequently they were asked to explain: “what is diabetes?” and “where does insulin go?”. According to the methodology of the “interactive drawing”, the interviewer interacted with the children while drawing, forcing them to verbalize the reasons for their choices, to justify their proceeding, to explain their plan and then to explicit their theories. Drawings and replies were classified as Correct, Correct-but-Incomplete and Incorrect. Results: the overall production of correct/correct-but-incomplete drawings was 83.82% vs 16.20% of the incorrect ones. One-hundred of the children who have produced a correct drawing supplied also a correct verbal reply, whereas 100% of the children who have produced an incorrect drawing was unable to supply any information on diabetes or about insulin. Both younger and older subjects who produced a complete-but-incorrect drawing appeared to have misunderstood the action of insulin therapy (only 23% and 17% of correct replies). Children who produced incomplete drawings and provided incorrect replies to the questions about their disease showed also a HbA1c mean value higher (8.36±0.97%) compared to the children who drew and answered correctly (p=0.0023). Conclusions: the operative epistemic approach could represent a promising tool for a health professional team to verify the real understanding acquired by a child about T1D, and to provide pediatrician a guideline to directly communicate with his patient. Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this descriptive pilot study was to assess the ability of youth to create a meaningful drawing related to living with type 1 diabetes and explore the benefits of expressing emotion through drawing in future interventional work. Methods: Youth aged 4 to 19 years (N = 242) with type I diabetes attending routine follow-up appointments within a pediatric specialty clinic were asked to draw: “If diabetes had a face what would it look like?” Results: Drawings reflected many emotions and ranged from simple to complex in detail. Drawings reflected multiple experiences of living with diabetes including emotions, tools used for management, and effects of self-care. Conclusions: Youth were able to create drawings reflecting their experience of living with diabetes. Youth conveyed a variety of emotions, attitudes, and experiences in drawing the “face” of diabetes. Drawing during clinic visits provides opportunity to explore the unspoken experiences of living with a chronic health condition, which may not be obtained during routine clinical information gathering. Deeper understanding of patient’s lived experience may assist providers in therapeutic management.
