Abstract
To compare diffusion-kurtosis imaging (DKI) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) parameters of single-shot echo-planar imaging (ss-EPI) and readout-segmented echo-planar imaging (rs-EPI) in the differentiation of luminal vs. non-luminal breast cancer using histogram analysis. One hundred and sixty women with 111 luminal and 49 non-luminal breast lesions were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent ss-EPI and rs-EPI sequences on a 3.0T scanner. Histogram metrics were derived from mean kurtosis (MK), mean diffusion (MD) and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps of two DWI sequences respectively. Student's t test or Mann-Whitney U test was performed for differentiating luminal subtype from non-luminal subtype. The ROC curves were plotted for evaluating the diagnostic performances of significant histogram metrics in differentiating luminal from non-luminal BC. The histogram metrics MKmean, MK50th, MK75th of luminal BC were significantly higher than those of non-luminal BC for both two DWI sequences (all P<0.05). Histogram metrics from rs-EPI sequence had better diagnostic performance in differentiating luminal from non-Luminal breast cancer compared to those from ss-EPI sequence. MK75th derived from rs-EPI sequence was the most valuable single metric (AUC, 0.891; sensitivity, 78.4%; specificity, 87.8%) for differentiating luminal from non-luminal BC among all the histogram metrics. Histogram metrics of MK derived from rs-EPI yielded better diagnostic performance for distinguishing luminal from non-luminal BC than that from ss-EPI. MK75th was the most valuable metric among all the histogram metrics.

Abstract
This study aimed to assess the expression levels of non-coding RNA activated by DNA damage (NORAD) in the cells, tissues, and serum of breast cancer (BRCA) patients and benign breast nodules and investigate its association with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis in BRCA. NORAD was analyzed using TCGA-BRCA, GSE77308, Cellminer, and Sangerbox databases, revealing its significance in BRCA prognosis, immune microenvironment, and cell function. Serum samples from 38 BRCA patients, 80 patients with benign breast nodules (50 fibroadenoma and 30 breast adenosis cases), and 42 healthy individuals were collected from Zhejiang Xiaoshan Hospital. NORAD expression was quantified using quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR). Differential NORAD expression between benign and malignant breast nodules and its relationship to clinicopathological characteristics were assessed. NORAD demonstrated elevated expression in BRCA patient serum compared to healthy individuals and those with benign breast nodules (P < 0.05). Moreover, its expression correlated with TNM-stage, lymph node metastasis, and luminal classification. These findings highlight the elevated NORAD expression in BRCA patient serum and its correlation with clinicopathological characteristics, providing insights into its potential as a diagnostic biomarker or therapeutic target.

Abstract
The status of sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) is decisive in staging, prognosis, and therapeutic approach. Using an ultrasonographic examination algorithm composed of B-mode, Doppler technique, contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and elastography, this study aimed to determine the diagnostic performance of the four techniques compared to histopathological examination. 96 SLNs belonging to 71 female dogs with mammary gland carcinomas were examined. After examinations, mastectomy and lymphadenectomy were performed. Histopathological examination confirmed the presence of metastases in 54 SLNs. The elasticity score had the highest accuracy-89.71%, identifying metastases in SLNs with 88.9.9% sensitivity (SE) and 90.5% specificity (SP), ROC analysis providing excellent results. The S/L (short axis/long axis) ratio showed 83.3% SE and 78.6% SP as a predictor of the presence of metastases in SLN having a good accuracy of 81.2%. On Doppler examination, the resistivity index(RI) showed good accuracy of 80% in characterizing lymph nodes with metastases versus unaffected ones; the same results being obtained by CEUS examination. By assigning to each ultrasonographic parameter a score (0 or 1) and summing up the scores of the four techniques, we obtained the best diagnostic performance in identifying lymph node metastases with 92.2% accuracy. In conclusion, the use of the presented algorithm provides the best identification of metastases in SLNs, helping in mammary carcinoma staging and appropriate therapeutic management.

Abstract
Background: Omega-3 is a polyunsaturated fatty acid with an ability to regulate cell proliferation and apoptosis through interaction with inflammatory mediators. The potential additional beneficial effects of Omega-3 on chemotherapy patients with breast cancer is not yet completely revealed. Methods: A double-blind randomized control trial (RCT) involving a total of 48 locally advanced breast cancer patients was conducted. Ki-67 and VEGF expressions, as well as overall survival of patients receiving neoadjuvant cyclophosphamide-doxorubicin-5’fluorouracyl (CAF) chemotherapy plus Omega-3 (intervention group) or placebo (control group), were compared. Kaplan-Meier curve and Cox-regression tests were used to assess conditional disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) between the two groups. Results: Decreased Ki-67 expression was observed in the intervention group compared to control (42.4±4.8 versus 39.2±5.3; T-test p=0.032). Decreased Ki-67 expression was observed in intervention compared to control group (42.4±4.8 versus 39.2±5.3; T-test p=0.032). Decreased VEGF expression was also seen in the intervention group compared to control (32.7±5.2 versus 29.5±5.4; T-test p=0.041). VEGF expression positively correlated with Ki-67 expression (Spearman’s test p<0.001, R2=0.541). Overall survival in the intervention group was significantly longer in comparison to the control group (mean survival: 30.9 ± 3.71 versus 25.9 ± 3.6 weeks, Mantel-Cox test p=0.048; HR=0.411, 95%CI: 0.201-0.840). Disease-free survival was significantly longer in the intervention group compared to the control group (mean survival: 28.5 ± 3.3 versus 23.7 ± 3.6, respectively; Mantel-Cox test p=0.044, HR= 0.439, 95%CI: 0.222-0.869). Conclusion: Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation improved overall survival and progression-free survival of locally advanced breast cancer treated with CAF neoadjuvant chemotherapy and mastectomy.
