Novel 1, 2, 4-Triazoles as Antifungal Agents. BIOMED RESEARCH INTERNATIONAL 2022; 2022:4584846. Abstract
The development of innovative antifungal agents is essential. Some fungicidal agents are no longer effective due to resistance development, various side effects, and high toxicity. Therefore, the synthesis and development of some new antifungal agents are necessary. 1,2,4-Triazole is one of the most essential pharmacophore systems between five-membered heterocycles. The structure-activity relationship (SAR) of this nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound showed potential antifungal activity. The 1,2,4-triazole core is present as the nucleus in a variety of antifungal drug categories. The most potent and broad activity of triazoles have confirmed them as pharmacologically significant moieties. The goal of this review is to highlight recent developments in the synthesis and SAR study of 1,2,4-triazole as a potential fungicidal compound. In this study, we provide the results of a biological activity evaluation using various structures and figures. Literature investigation showed that 1, 2, 4-triazole derivatives reveal the extensive span of antifungal activity. This review will assist researchers in the development of new potential antifungal drug candidates with high effectiveness and selectivity.

Abstract
In this study, we demonstrate a simple, highly efficient, rapid and convenient series of 2,4-dimethoxy-tetrahydropyrimido[4,5-b]quinolin-6(7H)-ones 4a–v. Microwave irradiation facilitates the one-pot multicomponent reaction of different aromatic aldehydes, 6-amino-2,4-dimethoxypyrimidine and dimedone using glacial acetic acid. Metal-free multicomponent synthesis, shorter reaction time, higher product yield, easy product purification without column chromatography and outstanding green credential parameters are the key features of this protocol. We analysed 4a–v against six human tumour cell lines for antiproliferative activity. 4h, 4o, 4q and 4v show good antiproliferative activity with a good in silico ADMET profile. Furthermore, 4h, 4o, 4q and 4v also show drug-likeness properties by obeying drug-like filters. Herein, we demonstrate a simple, rapid and green synthesis of 2,4-dimethoxy-THPQs under microwave irradiation and their antiproliferative activity, in silico ADMET and drug-likeness studies were carried out.![]()

Abstract
Reactions in water have demonstrated numerous surprising results. The effects
of water in these reactions may include significant physical and chemical interactions with
the substrates and catalysts through polar effects and hydrogen bonding ability. In some
instances, water is also able to interact with the intermediates of reactions and possibly
with the transition states of chemical processes. Organic synthesis in water encourages the
researchers to follow the principles of green chemistry. Among heterocyclic compounds,
quinoline scaffold has become an important motif for the development of new
drugs. They are widely found in pharmaceuticals as well as in agrochemical industry. Over
the last few decades, numerous reports have been documented to access quinoline derivatives
with structural diversity, either by new annulation or by ring functionalization. This review summarizes an
overview of the synthesis and functionalisation of quinoline scaffolds in an aqueous medium. This method may
encourage researchers to adopt green chemistry and to apply these environmentally safe methods in designing
important heterocyclic cores.

Greener Synthesis of Nitrogen-Containing Heterocycles in Water, PEG, and Bio-Based Solvents. Catalysts 2020. Abstract
The solvents used in chemistry are a fundamental element of the environmental performance of processes in corporate and academic laboratories. Their influence on costs, health safety, and nature cannot be neglected. Quantitatively, solvents are the most abundant constituents of chemical transformations; therefore, acting on solvents and replacing standard solvents with safer products can have a great ecological impact. However, not all green solvents are suitable for the wide scope of organic chemistry reactions. A second point to consider is that 50% of pharmaceutical drugs are nitrogen heterocycles compounds. It therefore appeared important to provide an overview of the more ecological methodologies for synthesizing this class of compounds. In this review, all publications since 2000 that describe green reactions leading to the formation of nitrogen heterocycles using safe solvents were considered. We chose water, PEG, and bio-based solvents for their negligible toxicity. The synthesis of five-, six-, and seven-membered aromatic nitrogen heterocycles using green reactions reported in the literature to date is described.

Abstract
Nowadays, the application of solid base catalysts as a perfect replacement for homogenous basic catalysts has attracted the attention of researchers. In this study, core–shell magnetic mesoporous N-doped silica nanoparticles N(x wt%)-MSN, as a heterogeneous base catalyst, were synthesized. The N(x wt%)-MSN composite was fabricated by adding different amounts of diethanolamine as a source of nitrogen, besides using tetraethylorthosilicate as a precursor of silica. The as-prepared catalyst was employed efficiently for the synthesis of some arylpyrimido[4,5-b]quinoline-dione derivatives under green conditions. The highly efficient catalyst N(1.3 wt%)-MSN was characterized via XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, BET and XPS techniques, and the results of these analyses proved that the nitrogen was doped into the silica structure. Also, the results demonstrated the core–shell structure of the as-synthesized composite. Preparation of core–shell magnetic mesoporous N-doped silica nanoparticles as a new solid base catalyst was studied. obtained catalyst was used for the preparation of some arylpyrimido[4,5-b]quinoline diones under green conditions.![]()
