Abstract
Ferroptosis, which comprises iron-dependent cell death, is crucial in cancer and non-cancer treatments. Exosomes, the extracellular vesicles, may deliver biomolecules to regulate disease progression. The interplay between ferroptosis and exosomes may modulate cancer development but is rarely investigated in natural product treatments and their modulating miRNAs. This review focuses on the ferroptosis-modulating effects of natural products and miRNAs concerning their participation in ferroptosis and exosome biogenesis (secretion and assembly)-related targets in cancer and non-cancer cells. Natural products and miRNAs with ferroptosis-modulating effects were retrieved and organized. Next, a literature search established the connection of a panel of ferroptosis-modulating genes to these ferroptosis-associated natural products. Moreover, ferroptosis-associated miRNAs were inputted into the miRNA database (miRDB) to bioinformatically search the potential targets for the modulation of ferroptosis and exosome biogenesis. Finally, the literature search provided a connection between ferroptosis-modulating miRNAs and natural products. Consequently, the connections from ferroptosis-miRNA-exosome biogenesis to natural product-based anticancer treatments are well-organized. This review sheds light on the research directions for integrating miRNAs and exosome biogenesis into the ferroptosis-modulating therapeutic effects of natural products on cancer and non-cancer diseases.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between dietary antioxidant indices (DAI) and glaucoma using the data from the 2005 to 2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). METHODS Our study comprised participants who completed the NHANES dietary intake interview and visual health questionnaire at age 40 or older. The intakes of the vitamins A, C, and E as well as of zinc, selenium, and magnesium were used to generate the DAI, which represents the overall antioxidant qualities. The self-report method for glaucoma diagnosis (ever been told by an eye doctor) was used. Survey logistic regression analyses were employed to investigate the association between DAI and glaucoma. RESULTS A total of 6,128 participants were included in our study. The unadjusted model's findings revealed a negative correlation between dietary antioxidant indices and self-reported glaucoma [0.93 (0.90, 0.96), p < 0.0001]. For every unit increase in dietary antioxidant indices, the risks of self-reported glaucoma in model 1 (adjusted for age, sex, race, marital status and PIR) decreased by 5% [0.95 (0.90, 0.99), p = 0.02]. After adjusting all the covariates (model 2), the risks of self-reported glaucoma decreased by 6% [0.94 (0.90, 0.99), p = 0.02] for each unit increase of dietary antioxidant indices. After converting DAI into classified variables (tertile), the same trend was found (p = 0.001). CONCLUSION In this analysis of the NHANES database, we found higher dietary antioxidant indices were associated with lower risk of glaucoma.

Abstract
Lead (Pb) is a critical industrial and environmental contaminant that can cause pathophysiological changes in several cellular and organ systems and their processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and survival. The skin is readily exposed to and damaged by Pb, but the mechanisms through which Pb damages cells are not fully understood. We examined the apoptotic properties of Pb in mouse skin fibroblast (MSF) in vitro. Treatment of fibroblasts with 40, 80, and 160 μM Pb for 24 h revealed morphological alterations, DNA damage, enhanced caspase-3, -8, and -9 activities, and apoptotic cell population. Furthermore, apoptosis was dosage (0-160 μM) and time (12-48 h) dependent. Concentrations of intracellular calcium (Ca2+) and reactive oxygen species were increased, and the mitochondrial membrane potential was decreased in exposed cells. Cell cycle arrest was evident at the G0/G1 phase. The Bax, Fas, caspase-3 and -8, and p53 transcript levels were increased, whereas Bcl-2 gene expression was decreased. Based on our analysis, Pb triggers MSF apoptosis bydisrupting intracellular homeostasis. Our findings enrich the knowledge about the mechanistic function of Pb-induced cytotoxicity on human skin fibroblasts and could potentially guide future Pb health risk assessments.

Abstract
As a common malignant tumor of the female reproductive system, endometrial carcinoma (EC) seriously endangers women's health with an increasing incidence. The oncogenesis and progression of cancer are closely linked with immune microenvironment, of which interleukins are the important components. In order to illustrate the roles and clinical applications of interleukins in EC, literature of interleukins and EC were reviewed. Based on the present studies, interleukins play crucial roles in the oncogenesis and development of EC via regulating the proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, apoptosis, pyroptosis and autophagy of EC as well as the immune function against EC. And some of the interleukins seems to have prospective clinical applications in EC, such as evaluating the risk of tumorigenesis, discriminating the malignancy from benign disorders or normal condition, indicating cancer aggressiveness, predicting the prognosis of patients and serving as the novel therapy. However, there is still a long way to go before the clinical applications of interleukins in EC come into reality. Nevertheless, it is certain that the exploration of interleukins will definitely be of great benefit to the screening, diagnosis and treatment of EC in the future.
