Abstract
Introduction Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) represents a fibroblastic neoplasm exhibiting NAB2::STAT6 gene rearrangement, displaying diverse clinical manifestations, spanning from benign to malignant. To predict prognosis, the modified (four-variable) Demicco (mDemicco) model was introduced. This investigation aims to authenticate the mDemicco risk model's precision in Asian patients while investigating the clinicopathological and molecular factors linked to the prognosis of extrameningeal SFTs. Methods Clinicopathological data from 111 extrameningeal SFT cases in East China, covering the period from 2010 to 2020, were thoroughly analyzed. The tumors were classified using the mDemicco model. Immunohistochemical evaluation of P16 and P53, molecular detection of TP53 and TERT promoter mutation, and fluorescence in situ hybridization for CDKN2A gene alterations were performed. Statistical methods were utilized to assess the associations between clinicopathological or molecular factors and prognosis. Results Histologically, only one parameter, the mitotic count, exhibited a statistical correlation with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). During the Kaplan-Meier analysis, the variation in PFS among the different risk groups exhibited a notable trend towards statistical significance. Nevertheless, 3 out of 74 patients classified as low-risk SFTs and 7 out of 21 patients classified as intermediate-risk exhibited disease progression. Among the 5 patients with TP53 mutations and/or mutant-type P53 immunophenotype, 3 experienced disease progression, including 2 intermediate-risk patients. Additionally, among the 4 patients with TERT promoter mutations who were followed up, 3 showed progression, including 2 intermediate-risk patients. Moreover, it was observed that hemizygous loss of CDKN2A was detected in more than 30% of one case, yet the patient exhibited a favorable survival outcome. Conclusion The mDemicco risk model exhibits certain limitations when dealing with smaller tumor sizes, younger age groups, and occurrences of malignant and dedifferentiated SFTs. Furthermore, molecular factors, such as TP53 or TERT promoter mutations, may identify intermediate-risk SFTs with poorer prognoses.

Abstract
A Solitary Fibrous Tumor (SFT) is a rare, aggressive, and metastasis- and recurrence- prone mesenchymal tumor. In this case report and review, we describe a rare instance of intracranial SFT, discovered for the first time. It was discovered in 2008 and following total surgical removal, the pathology was categorized as hemangiopericytoma cell tumor (HPC) at the time by WHO tumor criteria. An imaging review 8 months after surgery revealed a tumor recurrence: combined radiation and gamma-knife therapy was continued throughout this time. The tumor did not metastasis until June 2018 when it presented in the pancreas with ruptured bleeding and a postoperative pathology was suggestive of SFT. Fortunately, the patient is still alive nearly 3 years after the 2020 surgery, after staged surgical resection and combined multimedia therapy, with no imaging or clinical evidence of a recurrent intracranial primary lesions. To our knowledge, there is no previous record of using a combined treatment modality for Intracranial Solitary Fibrous Tumor (ISFT). Combined with an account of the patient's experience, we empirically describe a combined approach with a preference for gross-total resection (GTR), supplemented by multimodal assistance with stereotactic (radiotherapy), gamma knife (GK), molecular targeting, and immunization for patients admitted acutely, with accurate preoperative identification and aggressive management after intraoperative case response to maximize treatment of recurrent ISFT and improve prognosis. We recommend multimodal management for SFT with prolonged-term recurrence and metastases, both for the control benefits of GTR, RT, or GK for local recurrence and for the positive prognosis of targeted and immune metastases.

Abstract
The paper provides a comprehensive overview of the growth and development of Hwasun Neurosurgery at Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital over the past 18 years. As the first brain tumor center in Korea when it was established in April 2004, Hwasun Neurosurgery has since become one of the leading institutions in brain tumor education and research in the country. Its impressive clinical and basic research capabilities, dedication to professional education, and numerous academic achievements have all contributed to its reputation as a top-tier institution. We hope this will become a useful guide for other brain tumor centers or educational institutions by sharing the story of Hwasun Neurosurgery.

Abstract
The salivary gland (SG) microvasculature constitutes a dynamic cellular organization instrumental to preserving tissue stability and homeostasis. The interplay between pericytes (PCs) and endothelial cells (ECs) culminates as a key ingredient that coordinates the development, maturation, and integrity of vessel building blocks. PCs, as a variety of mesenchymal stem cells, enthrall in the field of regenerative medicine, supporting the notion of regeneration and repair. PC-EC interconnections are pivotal in the kinetic and intricate process of angiogenesis during both embryological and post-natal development. The disruption of this complex interlinkage corresponds to SG pathogenesis, including inflammation, autoimmune disorders (Sjögren’s syndrome), and tumorigenesis. Here, we provided a global portrayal of major signaling pathways between PCs and ECs that cooperate to enhance vascular steadiness through the synergistic interchange. Additionally, we delineated how the crosstalk among molecular networks affiliate to contribute to a malignant context. Additionally, within SG microarchitecture, telocytes and myoepithelial cells assemble a labyrinthine companionship, which together with PCs appear to synchronize the regenerative potential of parenchymal constituents. By underscoring the intricacy of signaling cascades within cellular latticework, this review sketched a perceptive basis for target-selective drugs to safeguard SG function.

Abstract
A 70-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for asymptomatic pancreatic tumors. She had a history of hemagiopericytoma (HPC) about 20 years ago, and no apparent recurrence has been observed. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed two hypervascular tumors in the head and uncinate process of the pancreas, and no obvious neoplastic lesions were found in other organs. Endoscopic ultrasound guided fine-needle aspiration cytology was performed and histopathology showed that spindle-shaped tumor cells were arranged in a hemangiopericytoma-like pattern and positive for STAT6, which was a characteristic feature of solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs). Immunohistochemical staining for surgical pathology specimens from past HPC showed positive expression of STAT6, which was Grade 2 central nervous system solitary fibrous tumor/hemagiopericytoma (CNS SFT/HPC) according to the current WHO classification. From these findings, the pancreatic tumors were preoperatively diagnosed as pancreatic metastases of CNS SFT/HPC. She underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy. Histopathological examination of the surgically resected specimen proved that the both pancreatic tumors were SFT/HPC. Thus, pancreatic tumors were finally diagnosed as asynchronous pancreatic metastases from CNS SFT/HPC. Although extremely rare, metastatic pancreatic tumors derived from SFT/HPC should be considered as a differential diagnosis for hypervascular pancreatic tumors, especially when having a past history of brain tumors.
